Yes, just under 1/8th of the way through the entire two book set, we at last approach the end of episode one (1/24th counting the OAVs) of the anime.

so you have the two-monster volumes edition, and not the five-book set ones? How many pages are there in each book? (in the two book set ones)

About 580 pages. The second book's just over 700. I hear the 5 version books are 500 *a piece* so I don't know how that works out to the same number. As far as I know there's no added material to the 5 book set ones...
