Chapter 3 – Despair!
“I need to hide!” Yes, that’s right! I need to hide! I only need to hide somewhere where the wolf won’t be able to find me. But where is that? A wolf’s nose is really sensitive.

Soon, under the light of the bonfire, the entire figure of the creature became visible. When he laid his eyes on the creature Lin Ling finally began to panic for real.
Dark gray fur, a perfectly streamlined body with abnormal muscle development. Strong limbs and a hairy tail constantly swinging from one side to another. At least until here the wolf appears to be very normal, the only difference between it and a normal wolf is its incredible muscle mass, but when Lin Ling looked at its head, shit no! There are two of them! “It turned out to be a double-headed wolf!” (TNL: So, there wasn’t a pack of wolves, just one with two heads, equally bad though)
Two heads! A legendary magical beast!
“Grrr…” The two heads of the wolf sniffed the ground simultaneously, and as if smelling something, its pupils contracted as it looked around the grass. Its body erected into a fighting stance.
The sensitive nose (or noses) of the double-headed wolf were signaling the presence of a prey. Judging by the smell, and the fact that no one could be seen nearby, it was obvious to it that the sly little prey dared to hide in its presence. This made the double-headed wolf increasingly furious.
This forest is inhabited by a big number of magical beasts, and each one of them is unusually fierce. There was only a handful of vegetarian magical beast living in this forest. In this place, if you want to live, you must do it so by stepping on the corpses of other animals. Unless the herbivores are strong enough, their only fate is to be hunted by the stronger carnivorous beasts.
For example, a little hare has just been killed by the double-headed wolf. And the blood on his claws was the leftover of the poor thing.
The two heads of the wolf continued to sniff his surroundings, and with two noses, its ability to differentiate between the different smells multiplied. Soon enough, the double-headed wolf turned in the direction Lin Ling was hiding.
Lin Ling’s heart almost stopped at that moment. As soon as he saw the beast under the tree, his heart was covered in a mantle of endless fear.
The double-headed wolf looked up the tree, and his cold beastly pupils locked onto Lin Ming’s. His gaze showing a glint of contempt.
“It’s finished! I’ve been discovered by this beast!” His heart deflated, and he felt as if his body just fell into a cold bottomless abyss. In just a moment his body lost all temperature, and cold sweat formed on his forehead.
“Bang!” A loud crash resounded in the silence of the night.
The tree under Lin Ling’s feet was shaking violently. Firmly grabbing the trunk of the tree, Lin Ling looked down in terror.
This tree was the largest he could find, and if you were to put it beside a normal tree on earth then it would appear even more massive. But under the claws of the double-edged wolf, the strong tree trunk turned as fragile as a stick. Just a proving impact was enough to make it shake violently.
Not far away from Lin Ling’s camp, a little figure could be seen walking in the middle of the dark forest while singing a children’s song, completely unafraid of the dark forest.
When the petite figure heard the rumbling sounds not far away, she instinctively looked in that direction.
