“Friend, do you who that person is? Please, that little girl is my sister! I beg you!” Now Lin Ling’s only hope was this old man who may know the identity of the person who abducted Annie. “Even if I have to fight, I’ll save her!”
The old man hesitated for a long time but didn’t say anything. Lin Ling naturally knew what the old man was thinking about and quickly said: “Please tell me, I just want to know who kidnapped my sister! I will never mention your name! If I can rescue my sister, I’ll make sure to repay you!” For the first time since he was born, Lin Ling knelt down to someone.
Are dignity and face more important than Annie?
Of course is not! As long as he can rescue Annie, even if this old man want him to crawl in front of him, he won’t hesitate to do so!
As long as they are Chinese, they know that there are three things that cannot be tolerated. The first is to kill their parents, the second to win their wives, and the third to humiliate them. The first two cannot be done to Lin Ling because in this world he has no parents, nor he has a wife. But he certainly can be humiliated.
But for Annie, even if he has to sacrifice his own life, he would not hesitate.
Someone would definitely ask him why.

His family lives at the end of the street. As long as you keep going that way, you’ll see a small bridge. On the other side of the bridge is located his family’s third home. Go and save your sister.
After saying that, the old man shook his head and disappeared into the crowd.
“Thank you!” He stood up from the ground and ignoring his hands full of dirt, he took out a delicate, yet small, dagger from his pocket. This was the dagger that Annie gifted him for self-defense. Without saying anything he began to run in the direction of Lub’s residence.
The old man who has just left Lin Ling suddenly stopped and seemed to think of something. He shouted “not good”. It turned out he just remembered what he forgot to say.
It turned out that today is the day Lub has to pay his debts. A bunch of loan sharks will go to Lub’s place to collect his debts.
This is not a very rare thing. In order to collect debts, this group of bullies often make trouble around here. When Lub did not own them money, he and this group were the same as brothers. But once Lub had no money, they didn’t hesitate to turn their greedy eyes on him.
Relying on Lub’s petty acts of theft, is unknown when he’ll be able to pay the big amount of gambling debts.
When the old man rushed back to the place he talked with Lin Ling, he discovered that he was already gone. “Oh boy, I hope you can rescue your sister before something bad happens to the two of you…”
He is just a common Piltovian civilian with no magic nor combat strength. The only thing he can do for Lin Ling is pray for his safety.
On the other side of the street, Lin Ling finally saw the small bridge, and after crossing it quickly discovered Lub’s home.
It’s just that…Lub’s home was surrounded by a group of people holding knives and some blunt weapons. The face of every single person there was filled with vicious colors. It is obvious that these people are not good people.
“This…how should I do this…” Masteries makes Lin Ling stronger, but that doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t have any combat experience. Even if it’s a strong novice, a novice is still a novice. The hand holding the dagger began to sweat a lot as he gaze at the group of people.
His heart was beating incredibly fast, like that day when he encountered the shadow wolf.
“Bang!” There was a crisp sound and on Lin Ling’s face appeared a red handprint. He just slapped himself!
The pain made Lin Ling tense, and then began to calm down. After crouching down and hiding behind the wood (TLN: I suppose is the garden?), he carefully observed the group of people in front of him. The dagger in his hand was exuding a cold light as if ready to go and slaughter them all.
“A total of 8 people…3 are holding iron pipes, 4 holding machetes, and there’s one with a shotgun!” After seeing the weapon in the hands of the person in the middle of the group, Lin Ling sucked a mouthful of cold air. As a person for earth, he feels a natural deterrence against firearms.
“Damn!” Lin Ling had already thought of this possibility.
In the game “League of Legends” there are many champions who use firearms as weapons. It’s just that the champion’s firearms and the one in the hands of this small fry are not on the same level. Champions use rune weapons after all.
The shotgun in the hands of this man is only a normal firearm without any enchanting, and the damage output is not high. Once a person exceeds Level 3 in his profession there’s no need to fear this sort of weapon anymore. But the problem is that Lin Ling is just at Level 1!
The only thing he can rely on is the dagger that Annie gave him.
“Fight!” Screw it! Lin Ling decided to fight! Death is not such a big deal! And if Annie is not saved, then there isn’t much of a reason to keep living in this world anyway!
He needs to do it sneakily though. Lin Ling is not without discretion after all and rushing into the group of people while screaming would be a foolish action. If he were to do that, he may not even be able to get close to the person with the shotgun before he’s shot to death.
