Chapter 15 Telekinesis
Jiang Han was also slightly taken back as he did not have any experience with the opposite sex. He did not know what to do when faced with this situation, he could only embarrassingly smile and stealthily pull out the price tag on the side.
While Su Yuxin was blushing, she did not notice Jiang Han’s actions, when she finally notice that Jiang Han had pulled the tag off, she crease her eyebrows, “Senior, are you stupid?”
This question came as quite a shock to Jiang Han. Generally speaking, there shouldn’t be anyone that would answer “yes” in this situation.
He looked at Su Yuxin curiously, he was completely perplexed.
“The tag’s string is thin and tough, if you pulled it like that, you would’ve hurt yourself, are you hurt?” Su Yuxin said helplessly
“Ah, this, no problem, I’m fine.” Jiang Han anxiously stuck his hand out, the spot where the string met his palm was completely fine without so much as a mark, obviously he wasn’t hurt at all.
Su Yuxin saw Jiang Han’s nonchalant expression and felt relieved, she silently thought to herself that she was all worked up for nothing.
“It’s still a little early to eat, why don’t we go for a walk.” One looked at Jiang Han and Su Yuxin knew that he wasn’t the type to take the initiative. It was pointless to wait on him, so she could only suggest something upfront.
Su Yuxin walked in front when suddenly Jiang Han remembered something, he called out to her, “Hey, Junior sister, hold on.”
Su Yuxin stopped and turned around when she heard him. Jiang Han reached in and took out a card and brought it to Su Yuxin with both hands, “I should have returned this to you earlier, but I didn’t have the chance to. Now it’s returned to its rightful owner.”
Su Yuxin smiled, then took the card and placed it in her purse, “Don’t worry, I did not forget about it. Next time, you can just call me Yuxin instead. Let’s go.”
After she said that she turned around and walked away, Jiang Han moved quickly to catch up with her. The both of them were considered friends, although strictly speaking, they did not have much contact with each other. This was their first time they went out together, and it was also the first time Jiang Han ever went out with a girl.
Compared to the slightly tense Jiang Han, Su Yuxin was a lot more relaxed. She was completely enjoying herself, she tried different street snacks and even played with various toys and gadgets. Jiang Han had never experience such situations before and so he followed along leisurely with idle hands.
As they passed by a video arcade, Jiang Han slowly strode in, but he hadn’t took more than a couple of steps before he notice that Su Yuxin did not followed him in. He turned around to see Su Yuxin standing at the arcade’s entrance with her eyes staring blankly inside.
Jiang Han walked back to the arcade’s entrance, and followed Su Yuxin’s gaze to a bunch of claw machines situated at the entrance. Inside the various claw machine there were a bunch of plush toys of various sizes, and it was precisely these toys that Su Yuxin was staring at.
“Senior~ Can we please catch some of these dolls?” Su Yuxin’s eyes were lit up and her hands were tugging on Jiang Han sleeves.
“About this, I don’t actually know how to.” Jiang Han was embarrassed. This sort of money squandering place was extremely luxurious for a student that had to be prudent and thrifty in his daily life to survive.
“No problem, I know how to. Let me show you, I’m actually pretty good at this.” Su Yuxin turned around to look at Jiang Han, but the light in her eyes had yet to fade.
Faced with such a passionate request, if Jiang Han were to refuse her, she may get a little physical in this public area, and Jiang Han didn’t want to take this risk. Furthermore, he was here to accompany her in the first place, he had no reason to reject her.
The both of them walked into the arcade together and Su Yuxin immediately started to play on these claw machines without waiting for Jiang Han to exchange for some game tokens. She was obviously prepared for this, she already had her member’s card out while walking in and had made a bee line for the claw machines.
Jiang Han stood next to Su Yuxin and he was able to understood how to operate the machine after watching her for less than five minutes. Su Yuxin looked like an expert at this game, swiping her member’s card and then operating the mechanical claw over and over again without any unnecessary actions. She didn’t even had to aim, her moves were gently like the clouds and smooth like running water, it was as if she had a lot of practice with this.
However, not to mention catching a single one, even the times she picked up a toy could be counted with one hand, she was essentially randomly catching. Even though Jiang Han had never played this before, but no matter how he looked at it, it didn’t seem like this was the proper way to catch these toys from the machine.
Jiang Han was a little surprise, but Su Yuxin totally ignored his reaction. She was completely engross with catching these plush toys, and even though there were quite a few other people on this sort of game machine in the arcade, but few were able to get on her level. It didn’t take long before there was a crowd surrounding them to watch her play.
When the crowd saw Su Yuxin’s actions, some were laughing, some was astonished, some were gossiping behind her back and there was naturally some that looked at Jiang Han with sympathy. This was the rumoured legendary ‘spending money like water’.
“Ahem, Yuxin, why don’t you let me have a go?” Jiang Han took a step forward.
Su Yuxin paused while being slightly out of breath, “Okay then, I’ll let you have a go at it.”
Jiang Han began his first attempt at this claw machines by emulated Su Yuxin’s actions. He controlled the machine arm as it moved, then pressed a button to move the claw vertically down, he had his eyes on one of the toy, but when the claw retracted it shook a little and the toy fell backed down.
As Jiang Han expected, the machine was rigged. It must be that the claw’s grab strength would increase once in a predetermine amount of tries. Only by chance if it was that one particular predetermined play, coupled with the appropriate technique would one successfully catch one.
In this way, the house would never be in a losing position. Regardless of players like Su Yuxin, if there were already a few winners that month then she wouldn’t be able to win no matter what.
“Fine, if this is how this unscrupulous business cheat their customers, then don’t blame me for breaking the rules. This would be a good opportunity to test out the result of the telekinesis training that I’ve done these past few days.” Thought Jiang Han to himself. Otherwise, if this continued then he didn’t know when they would be successful in catching one of these toys, therefore he decided to try out his new magical technique.
“Earlier was a test run. Yuxin, watch me catch them all in one attempt.” Jiang Han snickered and boasted out loud.
“Shesh, look at this guy run his mouth”
“Haha, what a funny guy.”
“Let’s see how this guy talk the talk and walk the walk.”
A lot of people heard Jiang Han’s boast, and they felt contempt for his declaration. This was an impossible matter, even if he was unusually skilled, there was no way for him to accomplish this.
Su Yuxin also smiled embarrassingly, Jiang Han’s words were a little too unbelievable……
The following development could be described as Deux ex machina. Jiang Han’s eyes were staring at all the dolls inside the machine, he mentally focused and operated his telekinesis ability to connect all the dolls together. On the surface, to cover up what he was doing, the mechanical arm seem to incessantly pick up and then drop the toys over and over again.
The onlookers were blinded by his sleight of hand. For the finale, Jiang Han controlled the arm to grab onto of the dolls and with his telekinesis manipulation, it seemed like the arm had a firm grasp on the doll.
However, this doll without anyone noticing was seemingly hooked onto another doll which was hooked onto another doll, and so on and so forth, which made all the dolls in the machine appeared to be caught all together. At this point, there was no one who considered whether this was actually realistically feasible because they were all stunned with a dumbfounded expression on their faces.
