A silvery grey thread shot out of Ye Qi's left arm. It extended and grew in the wind, eventually reaching 40 feet in size. The intertwining spider web fell to the floor like a veil, covering everyone in it.

The revolver started screaming again. The people caught in the web were like practice targets; they were shot down by Ye Qi one after another. Those who escaped were taken down by the soldiers who formed a firing range around the web.

More? How many are there?

After taking care of this group of people, Ye Qi felt another group approaching and he frowned—the number of the enemy had truly surpassed his expectations, after all, he had already taken down more ten people in the web! From the initial assault of the ogre to the later assassination, this showed that the whole thing had been thoroughly planned.

Furthermore, their target seemed to be none other than the young Demon Hunter himself!

Among my adversaries, only the Dirk family has the power and influence to mobilize so many people, but do these people value their lives so little that they dare to create such a huge ruckus so close to the Demon Hunter headquarters? Or is there some other party out there that wants me dead? But who could that be?

Even though the Dirk family was a powerful force for a mere Demon Hunter, they were like an ant if compared to the Demon Hunter headquarters that was truly an elephant if one was to continue that analogy. It would be easy for the headquarters to order the Dirk family's destruction! Therefore, unless the people from the Dirk family had lost their minds, they wouldn't have ordered this hit on Ye Qi, at least, not so close to the headquarters. However, the young Demon Hunter couldn't figure out who else would be so hell-bent on taking his life!

Regardless, this assault told Ye Qi that someone was out to end him! He had to investigate this further and counter accordingly! Ye Qi was no saint; he wasn't going to take this lying down!

After shooting down another invisible assassin, Ye Qi quieted his mind to focus on the Apostle-level enemy—the continuous appearance of invisible enemies told Ye Qi there was an Apostle-level assassin among the enemy ranks that could not only cast invisibility on themself but on their allies as well! Ye Qi knew he had to sniff out this person as soon as possible or this assault would not end. It had been ten minutes since the ogres appeared and it would take less than that for the people from the headquarters to send their help. However, the fact was, there had been no reinforcement from the headquarters!

There was only one logical explanation! Their enemy had set up some other commotion to distract the headquarters' attention!

Therefore, the young Demon Hunter knew stalling wouldn't work; he needed to rely on his own power to settle this!

While Ye Qi tried his best to search for the Apostle-level assassin, the Cooper Guardian dispersed into a green glow—one minute had passed and the thing reverted back into its bangle state.

The ogres who were no longer limited by the Cooper Guardian followed the green glow’s trail and rushed angrily at Ye Qi! Thankfully, of the five ogres, only two remained, the other three had been knocked unconscious by the Cooper Guardian—ogres with their low intelligence didn't know how to apply any combat tactic other than brute strength. This might have worked with adversaries smaller than them, but facing up against the more powerful Cooper Guardian, they were at a disadvantage.

Facing the two ogres rushing at him, Ye Qi deftly evaded the wooden mace while paying attention to the fluctuations around him—compared to the ogres, the young Demon Hunter was more cautious of the Apostle-level assassin hiding in the dark.

The dumb ogres were like cannons trying to hit a mosquito; none of their attacks landed on Ye Qi. Instead, the young Demon Hunter struck back at them with Agni, causing them to moan with pain.

In the midst of the furious mace swings by the ogres, Ye Qi heard a barely discernible humming coming from his back.

The person was finally making their move!

Ye Qi took a step forward seemingly to avoid an attack from the ogre when he suddenly reached out to slash behind him! Agni flashed like thunder, reflecting the moonlight before it clashed with a dagger that was as dark as the night!

Agni and the Obsidian Dagger clashed with sparks. A metallic hum reverberated through the camp.

Ye Qi glanced at the unique dagger and smirked—upon closer inspection, Ye Qi realized the dagger was covered with a layer of slime! This slime didn't come from the dagger, thus it had to be some kind of poison slathered on top of the dagger! Even though he couldn't tell what kind of poison it was, the young Demon Hunter doubted that it was a mild venom. Furthermore, he realized that the dagger was made of an incredible material as well, at least it was stronger than the longsword of the Cavalry since it didn't break from coming into direct contact with Agni!

A person in a fully black outfit shoved against Agni and retreated back into the shadows using their invisibility spell. Obviously, the assailant had planned this contingency plan before they struck! However, the erratic fluctuations the person left behind in the rapid escape were like a light in the dark for the young Demon Hunter. He gave chase immediately.

They fought as the person continued to try to flee!

Just as Ye Qi planned to use Burning Hands to force his opponent out into the open, an intense fluctuation came from behind him. The next second, the young Demon Hunter could feel the wind pressure around him changing. Ye Qi could tell without turning around that the two ogres were chasing him.

Abandoning his spell, Ye Qi bowed down to evade the mace that flew above his head. This gave the shadow the perfect opportunity to disappear, even the fluctuations had stopped appearing.

"Ye Qi, jump out of the way!"

Alice returned with the heavy artillery. Noting the metallic shine of the cannon, Metal Storm, in the dark, Ye Qi rolled out of their firing range. As he did so, Alice instantly ordered, Fire!"

Metal Storm, which could fire 3600 shots in one minute, unloaded on the ogres. Their skin might be tough as stone, but they were fragile like butter facing up against Metal Storm. The two surviving ogres soon became slabs of meat.

"Completion of C+ Quest: The Night Attack. Reward: 5000 experience…"

"Congratulations, your character has levelled up to level 9, your profession to level 5. Your wounds, and mana have been fully recovered. You have been rewarded with ten Skill Mastery Points."

As the Metal Storm stopped roaring and the system audio chimed in his mind, the people from the headquarters finally arrived—Noah and Titan came with a middle-aged man who had on a windbreaker with dark silvery edge. Behind the trio was Ye Qi's group of Apostle friends.

"Greetings, Sir Jacob!" The Cavalry Captain bowed at the middle-aged man as he walked into the camp. Ye Qi did the same, because the windbreaker with silver edge meant that this person was a Moon-grade Apostle!
