“Boss, you read too many novels. Well, at least you are a noble vampire. Did you really think this is because of the church?” (Patriarch)

He said his voice dripping with disdain.

Sia heard every single word, but for some reason didn’t respond to his disrespectful tone or the look in his eyes. Instead, she looked down and thought to herself…

‘I came here looking for Earth’s vampire family. Yes, I did find them. I’m curious though, since there are vampires here, then the church should be on the human side. What the hell is this! This is illogical!’

“Then the vampires must be divided into two camps, one based in the old towns as the cornerstone of the older generation and the ones in the cities as the base of the new generation. Is this a civil war between the generations?” (Sia)

Sia asked with a worried expression. Although she came from a different world, she was still a member of the vampire species in general.

“This…uh… that’s not it. A civil war is absolutely impossible.” (Patriarch)

He said shocked at her question, as he took a handkerchief out of his pocket and quietly wiped the blood from his mouth.

Sia stood there, giving him a blank look without saying a word.

“That is how it is. The leader of the new generation of vampires is the eldest son of two of our elders. As for the leaders here, I am the castle owner's son and there are a circle of seven elders, so we can’t do anything like that.” (Patriarch)

He said reasonably and then smiled as if he was somehow embarrassed.

What the hell!

Sia thought to herself. She would have never thought that the reason why the numbers here were so reduced was because of an educational dilemma.

”You are the elders of this family! Look at what the vampire clan has become! Are you not afraid you will destroy it completely if you allow things to continue as they are?” (Sia)

Sia yelled at him, more than a little angry. She truly didn't understand their lack of nerve. Do they not care for the safety of their race?!

“No, the humans are the majority now. This place is closer to being a resort than an actual fortress. Honestly, the little bastards are really enjoying themselves! The last time they came here, they took over and used us a toys for a while!” (Patriarch)

As he talked his face slowly grew ruddy.

Looking at him with an awkward expression, Sia said nothing. Truthfully, she didn’t know what to say. When she finally decided to say something, the patriarch continued talking…

“In fact, we were trying to rein in those kids who don’t follow the old ways, but the authority of our elders isn’t what it used to be and we couldn't beat them into joining us. Since they're better off than we are, they might as well go hang out with the little bastards on the other side." (Patriarch)

This was silly, thought Sia, who felt that all of her knowledge gained through hundreds of years, was about to be overturned. What did he mean that the older generation couldn’t beat the new generation? That shouldn’t be possible. Wasn’t someone just getting a little too carried away here?

Sia was a little stunned, when it finally dawned on her what the problem was. She wasn’t ‘cleaning the house,’ but in fact, was kicking out people from a nursing home.

(TN: “Cleaning up the portal/door(way)’ is what was actually said, basically a euphemism for ‘cleaning the house’)

‘Oh My God! What have I done?’

Sia had to concentrate hard, whilst trying not to laugh out loud. She thought she would be leading a war to unite vampires, but instead it turned out to be mere family feuds. This old man… Wait… Old man? I seemed to have overlooked something rather important.

“You… What is the average age here?” (Sia)

Sia asked weakly.

You might be interested to know that if there were enough light in the hall, you would see a loli surrounded by a group of young people.

“Eh? Us? The oldest of us are 700 and the youngest are 500.” (Patriarch)

The seemingly young owner of the castle answered her with a hearty smile.

For Sia, the scene was very embarrassing.

At his age, she was not in the presence of a group her parent’s age, her parents with their abusive, domineering attitudes! Good. That would have been humiliating.

“I... I” (Sia)

Sia was at a loss for words. After all, a 300-year-old vampire was still only a child.

(TN: Well, I gather he is referring to Sia here. If so, Sia isn’t 300, she is 786 (Chapter 29). Apparently the author forgot that fact.)

‘I didn't come here to get embarrassed!’

‘Wait, am I forgetting something?’
