Chapter 35 - I Am An Alchemist

XuanHuan 9

Upon hearing "Tang Hao", Tang the Thirteenth felt his face going numb and it did not recover until a few seconds later.
"I knew it. You are related to Tang Hao!" Nie Tian could infer from his face that he definitely was a relative or something closer to Tang Hao. Judging from the age, he was son or grandson to Tang Hao.
"What do you want from him?" Tang the Thirteenth responded with a cautious question.
"Nothing serious. Just send regards on half of my old friend," Nie Tian wore an amicable and easy smile.
Tang Hao being the personally taught disciple of Nie Tian, he could be a great help to boost Nie Tian's progress.
Nie Tian thought to himself that after he was murdered by the God of the Dominion and Luo Ziyan, his marshals, soldiers and disciples must have been run after for lives.
"I wonder how many of these seven disciples had made it?" Thinking of which, Nie Tian sighed to himself.
But from the way Tang the Thirteenth acted, Tang Hao should be alive now.
"What do you say? You promise?" Nie Tian urged him who was considering.
Tang the Thirteenth stared at Nie Tian for long and made up his mind, nodding, "Fine, I promise."
"Great, a promise is a promise."
"Right, I'd like to know when the Bloody Bats would offend," Nie Tian added.
"The very night of the Kung Fu Competition of Moyang City. Magistrate's Mansion first and the Nies second,"answered Tang the Thirteenth.
Then Tang the Thirteenth moved his body, left an afterimage and instantly disappeared.
"Young buddy, don't forget your promise," Nie Tian reminded Tang the Thirteenth.
"Tang the Thirteenth always keeps his promise," the sound of Tang the Thirteenth drifted in from afar.
"Tang the Thirteenth, interesting name," Nie Tian smiled gently.
If Tang the Thirteenth could help him find Tang Hao, it would mean much to Nie Tian.
"But Tang the Thirteenth, what involved you with the Bloody Bats?" Nie Tian was wondering why the heir of Hang Hao would be tied up with the Bloody Bats.
But these problems were not Nie Tian's first concerns. The most tricky issue here was how to cope with the Bloody Bats.
The whole thirty-sixth branch of the Bloody Bats seemed to be motivated. They got a Phenomenality at the fifth level, plus thirty or forty Vital Spirits. These Vital Spirits had outnumbered those in the entire Moyang City.
"I should go find Mo Tai first. He must know this," Nie Tian did not bother to think more but hurry to Moyang City after he left the Ripcloud Mountain.
The Bloody Bats came in full swings. Obviously, Moyang City was the target. At this point, only if Mo Tai stood out and united the power of Moyang City would there be a shot to combat the Bloody Bats.
Tang the Thirteenth was a variable and maybe a savior at the crucial moment.
Half an hour later, Nie Tian arrived at the Magistrate's Mansion.
The guardians of the Magistrate's Mansion recognized Nie Tian and did not block him.
Nie Tian went directly to the Conference Hall, and moments later, Mo Tai showed up.
"My son, long time no see. And you've made great progresses," Mo Tai glowed with health, smiled with zeal and greeted with joys.
Having awakened her vital spirit, Mo Ruxi spent several days consolidating the vital spirit. She had reached the second level of Vital Spirits by now. Even some Vital Spirits at the third level in the Magistrate's Mansion could not take the upper hand. Mo Tai could never be more happier.
"Nie Tian, where have you been these days?" Mo Ruxi dropped the cultivation work and came over in a hurry upon hearing the news that Nie Tian had come to Magistrate's Mansion.
Nie Tian looked at the angry face of Mo Ruxi, smiled and said, "I've been practicing in the Mansion. I had nowhere to go."
"You liar. I had been to the Nie's Mansion for several times and you were not even there," scolded Mo Ruxi, then blushing after realizing that she had said something she was not supposed to.
"You've been searching for me for several times?" Nie Tian was very happy, "You did miss me."
"Yuck," Mo Ruxi blushed even more and stomped on the ground, "I would not miss you shameless guy."
"That's fine," Nie Tian smiled, "But I did, everyday."
"You...shameless." Mo Ruxi was angry in face but content in heart.
"Well," Mo Tai was somewhat embarrassed. He coughed twice and looked at Nie Tian, "Master of the Nies, what is the business you come here for?"
Nie Tian soon turned serious, "It's big."
Nie Tian looked at Mo Ruxi as he said. He did not want Mo Ruxi to know about the Bloody Bats.
Mo Tai could see that. He smiled at Mo Ruxi, "Ruxi, the Master and I want some privacy, would you mind..."
Mo Ruxi was a clever girl. She also knew that Nie Tian would not want to see her around. Well, as capricious had been a label for young ladies, she walked directly to him and sat down next to Nie Tian, "Nie Tian, you want me gone but I'm going nowhere. What will you do now?"
Mo Ruxi was very complacent. She held her white chins high and revealed her snowy white and slender neck, like a proud swan.
Nie Tian was now embarrassed. He cast eyes to Mo Tai.
Mo Tai had no solution either, "If she wants to stay, so be it. Master of the Nies, that's fine."
"What kind of Master is he? Not more of a kid than me," Mo Ruxi curled her lips, not convinced at all.
Nie Tian was somewhat helpless, "Magistrate Mo, don't regret about your order."
Mo Tai would not have Mo Ruxi involved in the matter of the Bloody Bats. If Nie Tian spilled it out, Mo Ruxi would have known everything.
"Go ahead," Mo Tai nodded.
Nie Tian was no more hesitant. He told everything he knew about the Bloody Bats and finally added, "The Bloody Bats come to Moyang City with one single attempt, help the Bas gain control of Moyang City. And their primary target is the Magistrate's Mansion."
Nie Tian finished the words, leaving Mo Tai and Mo Ruxi shocked and speechless.
It was overwhelming for Mo Tai that the Bloody Bats came in full swings and took aim at the Magistrate's Mansion.
Nie Tian had mentioned the Bloody Bats once before. But given that a dozen of days passed and no message was heard, Mo Tai believed that the presence of the three men with the Bloody Bats was merely accidental.
But now Nie Tian told him that the Bloody Bats came for the Magistrate's Mansion. Mo Tai found it really difficult to digest.
"Nie Tian, are you not bluffing?" Mo Tai calmed himself down after a while, still in doubt of Nie Tian's words.
Nie Tian answered seriously, "Every single word of mine is true. They will enter the city tonight. You can keep an eye on the City Gate, and you will smell something fishy."
"Dad, what do we do?" Mo Ruxi asked promptly, for she firmly believed what Nie Tian said.
Although Mo Ruxi was not aware what the Bloody Bats looked like. But judging from their cruel act to murder Nie Tian's father and his clans three years ago, the Bloody Bats were a group of bad guys.
Mo Tai was silent, as if pondering over something.
Suddenly, Mo Tai looked up and at Nie Tian, "What do you think?"
Mo Tai was at a loss when he was about to confront the Bloody Bats. He instinctively felt that Nie Tian had a way out.
Nie Tian looked at Mo Tai and said, "If I were you, I would believe that the best way is summon all the Vital Spirits and have them ambush in the Magistrate's Mansion. We wait for their arrival and we catch them off guard."
Mo Tai nodded, deep in thoughts, "There are twenty Vital Spirits in Moyang City at most, except those with the Bas. But they got forty Vital Spirits and a Phenomenality at the fifth level. They are way too powerful for us. Should we succeed in the ambush, we would have no chance of defeating the Bloody Bats."
Nie Tian nodded.
Mo Tai was right. The Bloody Bats and the Bas meant over forty Vital Spirits. And what was more terrifying, a Phenomenality at the fifthe level was on their side.
This guy alone would very likely outmatch Mo Tai and Nie Wenyuan combined.
A third level and a first level could never be a match to a director of the Bloody Bats.
One fact should be acknowledged that for a Phenomenality, every single level would mean an unbridgeable gap.
Nie Tian thought it over and suddenly replied, "Mr. Magistrate, I have an idea, but you're gonna pay some price, will you?"
"Name it," Mo Tai was not hesitant at all.
Nie Tian paused, "I can produce some Boost Pills that can elevate your power to the fourth level or even fifth level of the Phenomenality temporarily. Then you will be able to fight even with the Director. If Nie Wenyuan and others administer the pill, the odds will be favorable to us. "
"Boost Pill?" Mo Tai was a little shocked, "As far as I know, the Boost Pill is the second-level pill. Can you make that?"
It became a second-level alchemist to produce the second-level pills. And an alchemist was a lot more esteemed then ordinary people.
Nie Tian looked careless and casual, and nothing of a noble alchemist.
The alchemist was a special group among the Kung Fu learners.
Admittedly, they were not powerful in general. But they did exert much influence.
The cultivation of a Kung Fu learner would require massive pills, which made the alchemist a noble occupation.
But difficult was too soft a word for the attempt to be an alchemist.
There was a very high threshold.
An ordinary people who wanted to become an alchemist must have more powerful vital spirit, tougher wills and stronger comprehension. The demanding capabilities also included the perception of all sorts of medicines, the control over fire and the power of mentality.
And the mental power was the crucial one among the prerequisites.
So an alchemist had been a rare occupation.
A first-level alchemist would hold a higher social standing than a Phenomenality did.
That explained the shock of Mo Tai when Nie Tian stated that he was able to produce the Boost Pills.
Nie Tian responded with a gentle smile, raised his head a little bit and said in confidence, "Provided with a tripod and sufficient herbs, you can have however many Boost Pills."
Nie Tian was the Monarch of Pills at the ninth level. Although the rebirth did weakened his mental power. It still reached the fortieth level. He was basically an alchemist at the fourth level.
An alchemist weighed mental power over anything else in a Kung Fu learner. So if Nie Tian had enough herbs and a reliable tripod, he would definitely be able to cook the fourth-level pills.
"So you are an alchemist?" Mo Tai was completely stunned when Nie Tian replied seriously.
Mo Tai believed he could never lower expectations for Nie Tian now that he had seen Nie Tian set up a spiritual deployment without much effort.
"Yes, I am," nodded Nie Tian.
Mo Ruxi displayed a complacent smile. She was not surprised at all.
Ever since Nie Tian helped her awaken the vital spirit, Mo Ruxi would make a fuss over anything that could happen to Nie Tian.
"We happened to have a tripod here. I'll fetch people to search for herbs you need," Mo Tai was somewhat excited. He seemed to have seen the light at the end of tunnel.
Nie Tian took the pen and paper, and wrote down the herbs he needed straightforward.
The Boost Pills belonged to the second-level category, hence quite a number of cooking recipes. Nie Tian chose the simplest one. After all, Moyang City was a small territory where herbs at higher levels were nowhere to find.
Mo Tai took the recipe and sent people to the city for herbs right away.
