Wandong let out a slight hum and turned a blind eye to the middle-aged guy, putting on airs and grace as a Duke's beloved grandson. He simply took no notice of the guy's compliments and looked back at the sweating disciple holding a broadsword. Wandong curved his lips and punched right at his face with no hesitation.

The disciple who made a murderous attempt at Wandong turned out to be a relatively competent thug - it was highly likely that he might be leader of the flock of security forces. However, he went overwhelmed by Wandong's aristocratic background and failed to figure out that Wandong would make a move in his stupefaction. With the punch plunged forth, Wandong felt rather at ease. It was literally like hitting a motionless timber pile, unobstructed. The punch was followed by a shrill cry with the disciple being tossed backward for miles. Obviously, that was a deadly move.

To the surprise of the middle-aged guy, Wandong killed his underling at his presence - it was an out-and-out provocation and humility. He pulled a long face and stammered, "Childe Xu, you..."

Wandong appeared as if nothing had happened. He fetched a square silk handkerchief from his collar and cleaned his hands in a leisurely manner. His laid-back look could even make one wonder whether he was standing in his own backyard or not.

Staying detached after a kill made the guy's heart sink. He marveled at Wandong's inexorable demeanor, which was poles apart from his preconception. The he put on a serious look.

"Who are you? Do I know you?" Wandong asked in a cold tone, lifting his head, after disposing of the used handkerchief randomly.

"Well, I'm the deputy-chief of the west troop of the Qinglong Gang. I had been honoured to see you once," the middle-aged guy responded in a sincerely respectful manner. The Qinglong Gang was notorious for its double-dealings. They bullied the masses to an outrageous amount but stayed cap in hand toward the bigwigs. But that also perfectly explained their status in the Yunzhong City now.

"The deputy chief of the west troop of the Qinglong Gang? It sounds as if you were even nobler than high-ranking officials," Wandong said with a grin.

Wu Gen (The middle-aged guy) hastened to respond with a guilty conscience, "Childe Xu, please don't make fun of me. I am no different than an ant to you. Heh..."

Wandong let a slight hum and murmured as if he had been talking to himself, "You said you are the deputy-chief of the west troop, then the Ringleader Han of your gang is the emperor by extension."

"Ah?!" Wenu Gen felt as if he had been struck by the lightning on hearing Wandong's words. His face turned pale, with a slew of chills going down his spine. He cast a scared look back at Wandong.

He thought to himself, "I just can't for the life of mine remember when the gang had offended him to this seemingly insufferable extent. Otherwise, Xu Yaoting wouldn't have acted in such an aggressive manner."

Seeing Wu Gen being agitated, Leng Yuecui held full-on admiration toward Wandong. It had never crossed her mind that he was terribly smart and inexorable. Just in an instant, Wandong made a plausible identification that the Qinglong Gang had committed a horrible felony ― conspiracy against the state. With slight carelessness, it would incur a calamity to the Qinglong Gang.

Being an unpresentable gang, it was literally nothing compared to the Court and the three mighty royal troops defending the capital.

"Childe Xu, I can barely take a joke like that! Our Chief Han was by all mean loyal to the Qingyun Empire. I...I can vouch for it with my...my head," Wu Gen said in a trembling voice. His face was pale and his forehead covered with sweat. The prior smooth and leisurely manner stood no longer.

"Your head?" Wandong asked. He came up and stretch his hand to tap Wu Gen's crown, with a dismissive sneer displaying his superiority. He added in a cold voice, "You head is way too valueless."

"Yes, no, I..." Wu Gui talked incoherently, fidgeting.

Seeing Wu Gen become utterly deranged, Wandong didn't care to mince his words. He lifted his head, curving his lips, and said in a detached tone, "What is going on in there? It looks rather interesting."

"No...Nothing..." Wu Gen responded.

"Bastard! You even tried to dupe me!" Wandong yelled.

"I dare not. But I just..." Wu Gen talked hesitantly.

"You just don't want let me in. Do you?" Wandong asked.

"Yes. Ah, no!...No, yes..." Wu Gen spluttered.

"You said yes and overturned it the next second. What on earth are you trying to say? Just give it to me straight if you don't want me to get in. Don't waste my time," Wandong warned him.

Wu Gen felt out-and-out remorseful of taking the assignment. He didn't expect Wandong was so hard to deal with. Now he was faced with a dilemma, which felt as if he had hurled himself on to a burning hot grill.
