Chapter 100.1 - Familiar totem

In the night, a horse carriage travelled along the rugged route towards up the mountain.

The person driving the carriage covered his face with black cloth and behind them, were ten or so other people also dressed in black.

They were in completely armed and hid their faces.

Inside the dark carriage, the originally two unconscious people suddenly opened their eyes.

Lan Bai struggled for a bit before discovering that both of her hands were tied behind her back.

She turned her face to borrow the weak moonlight’s light to look at the similarly tied up Lou Qingwu by her side.

She wiggled closer to Lou Qingwu, looking at her calm eyes, she couldn’t help but whisper, “Master, why didn’t we fight back, back then?”

Lou Qingwu looked beyond the heavy curtain to the person driving the carriage, calmly shook her head.

“With our two people’s skills, we aren’t a match for them.”

If they wanted to slip away, they couldn’t rely on their martial arts skills so they could only use poison.

But without investigating these people’s identities, she didn’t want to use poison which was her final trump card.

Or at least, she didn’t want to reveal her poison skills so early on.

Tonight, these people’s identities had to be investigated thoroughly.

She was afraid that Ruan Zhen wouldn’t have the time to deal with her, temporarily and definitely wouldn’t have time to kidnap her.

When these people in black appeared, they seemed to have quite ordinary skills, but they fought together flawlessly, just like they’d practiced a hundred times over before.

Then it wouldn’t be hard to guess.

Number one, they went through speciality training or number two, they were hiding their real skills.

Before knowing the other side’s full information, she definitely wouldn’t expose herself so early.

Lan Bai froze and thought carefully.

Then she instantly understood Lou Qingwu’s way of thinking, “These aren’t ordinary people?”

“En, they’re not. Even though they only revealed a few moves, it brought a sense of stiffness and unspeakable something.”

Lou Qingwu’s brows slightly furrowed, she felt like these people were somewhat familiar.

But she couldn’t think of where she’d seen them before.

The carriage continued for more than two hours before reaching an empty wooden cabin at the top of the mountain.

When the carriage completely stopped, the ten or so people in black jumped off and two of them lifted up the carriage’s curtain.

When the curtain was lifted, Lou Qingwu and Lan Bai both closed their eyes and pretended to be unconscious.

The people in black hadn’t discovered that the two people had already regained consciousness.

They picked the two up and threw them over their shoulders before throwing them onto the only bed in the cabin.

They mumbled between themselves before closing the door.

The wooden cabin became dark again.

Lou Qingwu opened her eyes, silently turning over and waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness.

Then she saw what type of cabin she was in.

It was crudely made and apart from the bed, there was only a chair, a table and a few other animal furs that hung on the wall.

Lan Bai also sat up, “Master, where did they take us? What’s their aim?”

“This place should be Qingluan mountain, about ten miles away from the capital.”

Just then, the carriage was bumpy and kept going upwards, she also saw the animal furs and according to the journey time, it shouldn’t have been too far from the Puzhao temple.

Adding those factors up, only the Qingluan mountain seemed most likely.

But why did they bring them here?

The terrain here wasn’t easily fortified either so it’d be easy to be discovered.

Furthermore, a place that’s hard to defend and easy to attack, if someone actually came to rescue them, it’d be hard for the people in black to escape.

Lou Qingwu’s expression darkened, this matter couldn’t be simple.

“Master, how long do we have to stay like this for?” Lan Bai shrugged her sore shoulders.

She really wanted to rip off these ropes because even though her fists were quite average, these ropes shouldn’t be a problem for her.

“Wait a little longer.”

Lou Qingwu stopped her actions.

These people didn’t seem to want to kill them, or otherwise, the bewildering medicine they used to make them faint wouldn’t be so light.
