_Note_.--Among the "Poems" are twelve pieces, "The Illuminated City,"

"The Wreath," "A Child at Prayer," etc., which are, apparently, attributed to Lord Byron, but are neither his compositions nor capable of being described as forgeries or imitations. They precede six genuine poems.
