Qin Shou's hilarious complacency arouse a sense of sarcasm in Wang Di. Feeling a twitch running across the corner of his mouth, Wang Di raised a question in spite of himself.
"How come you're so confident in yourself?"
Qin Shou raised his head, looking down his nose at Wang Di and Wang Manyun. He looked literally like a rooster or alpaca or any creature with its head pointing at the sky.
"Humph! Do you have what it takes to be accepted by the owner of the Mount Youming in such a short period of time? Are you able to become a sworn brother of the owner's son so swiftly?"
Right then, loads of disciples fixed their eyes on Qin Shou.
Qin Shou assumed that they stared him in awe; he let out a hum and raised his head higher.
The onlookers came back to themselves, shaking their heads forthwith.
Some of them even cast a glimpse on the Youming disciples, showing compassion with them.
What a tragedy it was for the Youming disciples to be around such a self-entitled prick!
Yi Jia and the Youming disciples spotted their facial expressions and figured out what they meant right away. They felt agonized to the brim.
If they could have killed Qin Shou with their eyes only, Qin Shou would have long died.
Unfortunately, Qin Shou was completely in the dark about their reactions.
He persisted in his manner of arrogant ignorance. His complacency even got greater on seeing the glazed look of Wang Di and Wang Manyun.
All of a sudden, they put on a weird smile on their faces, delighting Qin Shou to the utmost.
He felt rather pleased.

Qin Shou got carried away with his delusion. He was way too immersed in it that he even intended to give a pat on Wang Manyun's shoulder.
However, his move paused in the air abruptly, along with his arrogant smile — Wang Di and Wang Manyun passed by him straightforward and greeted someone behind Qin Shou's back.
"Morning! Brother Lin!"
"Morning! You're early!"
On recognizing the owner of the voice, Qin Shou came back to himself and swerved back, only to confront his deadly adversary — Lin Xiao.
As a matter of fact, he made a mistake. Wang Di and Wang Manyun were smiling at Lin Xiao just now.
Right then Qin Shou retrieved his grudge against Lin Xiao again. He reached out his hand and pointed at Lin Xiao with fury.
"How...How...How...How dare you show up here!"
He stuttered in such an embarrassing manner that even the onlookers were tempted to rush him through.
Before Lin Xiao responded, Wang Di flew into a rage.
"Qin Shou, I won't bother to fight back if you offend me. However, if you dare to get out of the line with brother Lin, I won't let you get away with it."
Qin Shou's offense toward Lin Xiao irritated Wang Di greatly. Wang couldn't withstand that at all — Qin Show was literally blaspheming against Lin Xiao.
Qin Shou had never taken Wang Di seriously. He even dared to slight Wang as he was an official Youming disciple now.
"Humph. Wang Di. You have balls! Show me what you're gonna do with me!"
No sooner had Wang Di figured out a proper response than another voice went off.
"Just like this!"
Qin Shou got a slap on his face and went astonished forthwith. The slap was so forceful that it took a turn for him to stabilize himself.
Face covered by his hands, Qin Shou spotted Wu Gui, feeling extremely dizzy.
Staring at Wu Gui, he remembered what happened outside the scriptorium the other day again.
"You...You should beat me again!"
"I didn't feel up to it either. You asked for it."
Wu Gui waved his hand — it seemed that his hand ached as well.
"He got a really thick face! (It's a hilarious way to say someone is shameless.)"
On hearing that, Qin Shou felt like spitting out blood.
Qin Shou suddenly remembered Yi Jia.
"You...You stay put here!"
Then he turned back and called his big brother.
However, there was no response at all.
