Chapter 23 – Big sister Vi!

Since he already came to this magical continent, does it meant that he has the opportunity to personally catch this crazy young girl?

“Hey, Lin Ling! Do you want to die?!” The shadow of two big hands appeared behind Lin Ling, who swallowed a mouthful of saliva listening to that voice. Lowering the hand holding a steamed bun he just bought from the stand before him, he turned around and saluted with a loud voice: “The police officer number 3053, Lin Ling, reporting to Vi Sheriff!”

“You kid! Tell me what’s wrong with you! You were also late during your first day!” Vi put her hands on her hips and began complaining to Lin Ling: “I may be often late to work, but you’re late every single time! What’s worse is that you are late just to eat steamed buns here! Isn’t that a little bit…”

The girl with the big hands is naturally Caitnlyn’s good partner, Piltover law enforcement officer Vi. With her pair of giant gauntlets like two big walls of metal, no one can stand a single punch of hers. Well, except for some champions of the League of course.

Lin Ling shook his head and then put his hand under his chin, assuming a thinking position. His gaze looked like he was trying to comprehend the vicissitudes of life as he talked: “You could never understand the feelings of a man who lived in the jungle without food or water for 10 days. After returning to society after all my trials, even these common buns are a delicacy for me.”

“Do not try to feed me that bullshit. You were still playing with mud when this old lady was already fighting in the battlefield. Actually, I should be the one thinking of the vicissitudes of life!” Those two giant hextech gauntlets slapped the two sides of Lin Ling face, occasioning him a lot of pain and making him tear a little. “You’ve been and police officer for exactly one month. It’s time you get this. This is the badge that Caitlyn Chuck asked me to give you.”

Even if Vi’s looks are so not-mainstream, she is only 28 years old, a few years older than Lin Ling. But from his point of view, he doesn’t dare to compliment Vi’s aesthetics. Super thick makeup, face tattoos, a bunch of earrings on each ear…She is obviously a big beauty, maybe even more beautiful than Caitlyn, but that punkish style of hers just doesn’t go with his tastes.

Nothing bad has happened since Annie’s departure, and Lin Ling’s injuries has been completely restored. He found out that after defeating Ghost Knife and his underlings, there was an increase in the EXP bar of his summoner level. There is really a little bit of increase, and although is very tiny, it actually increased!

Does fighting increase the summoner’s rank?!

Correct!

Even if is only killing a chicken, there will be an increase in experience, but this increase inexperience value would be around 0.0001. If you only rely on chickens, then you’ll need tens of millions of chickens to level up!

In other words, as the opponent’s power level increases, so does the experience obtained from defeating them. This is return would make Lin Ling more powerful, allowing him to challenge more difficult opponents!

However, this is easier said than done! The amount of experience required to level up from Elementary Summoner to and Intermediate Summoner is a staggering 100! Do you want to know how much experience he got from defeating Ghost Knife? Just a pitiful 5…

Not to mention that after Intermediate Summoner comes Advanced Summoner, then Master Summoner, followed by Grandmaster Summoner…all the way to God Summoner…

There is definitely the addition of a 0 to the necessary amount of experience for each level up.

“What are you thinking about kid? Don’t tell me you are going to become stupid just for a little badge?”

Watching the yellow badge falling in his hands, Lin Ling was a little dazed. Vi couldn’t hold her temper back and suddenly slapped him in the head, making him cry out in pain again.

Vi is not one to deliberately hit too heavy. She always holds back when hitting him, because after all, her two hextech gauntlets could kill him otherwise.

“Big sister please don’t hit me that this. If I were to become stupid because of all those hits, who will take care of me in the future?” Lin Ling faked some tears and said weakly.

Vi started to laugh after hearing this: “Hahaha! Lin Ling, you can rest assured. Since this old lady was partnered with you on your first day, I decided that if you were to go silly, I’ll take care of you for the rest of your life!” (TLN: I think she just confessed.)

“Thank you big sister!” A drop of sweat fell off Lin Ling’s forehead. Sister Vi has long criminal record among the police. When a criminal like her is forced to become a law enforcement officer, this isn’t the kind of record that can be cleaned in one day or two. She has a special identity in the police department of Piltover as a troublemaker. But the same can be said for Lin Ling who is always late for work, blatantly arrogant, often talking with vulgarities and disobeying orders when is convenient. Such a person like Lin Ling truly deserves a partner like Vi. Birds of the same feather flock together after all.

When he became part of the police force he feared that he wouldn’t be free to do what he wanted, so this kind of big sister as companion was a relief to him.

Subconsciously, he glanced at the little experience bar at the corner of his sight, and then sighed. “13 points of experience! I worked hard day and night for a month to catch a bunch of bad guys, but at the end only got so little experience! When the hell I’m going to level up at this rate?”

If this world’s native summoners were to hear Lin Ling’s thoughts, they would surely vomit blood.

A person who wants to become a magician often needs to start practicing at a young age. Then he must wait to the age of 16 to be certain he is qualified to become a summoner. Even if the result of the qualification tests are positive, he still needs to wait at least 1 year before he can become one. And this is only becoming an Elementary Summoner. If he wants to become and Intermediante Summoner, maybe even 3 years of hard work wouldn’t be enough.

Of course, this only applies to geniuses! A normal person may take much longer to advance!

So as long as you become an Intermediate Summoner, you can be called a master in some small cities. And if your luck is better and you manage to awaken some valuable summoner skills, you’ll become an existence that every prominent family would compete for!

Lin Ling has accumulated one tenth of the necessary experience to become an Intermediate Summoner in just a month, which means that if he were to maintain this speed, he’ll become an Intermediate Summoner in just 9 months. To the people of Runeterra, this cultivation speed is just terrifying, but Lin Ling is still not satisfied enough!
