Chapter 173 – Perhaps she owned the system a thank you? (1)
“Come back!”
Huo Sishen felt a throbbing sensation in his temples . He stared at Gu Shishi, whose hands were twisted together with her head lowered .
“If you can’t find it, have Mrs . Zheng go buy another one . ”
Siyi nodded quickly and ran away . He worried that he’d bust out laughing if he stayed for another second! Now he has more gossip that he could share with Sier!
His boss, who never walked out of his own room for fear that he’d bring about bad luck to those around him, sneaked onto the patio to peek at Ms . Gu showering… . eer, swimming… in the middle of the night by himself, while he drank!!
He had always been envious of Sier for being able to go on trips; now he felt that everyday brought about new surprises and miracles just from him following the boss around .
Siyi gave it a little bit of thought and walked back .
“Boss, the person working the cellar told me that the inventory of the ’76 red wine had been going down the last few days . ”
Huo Sishen’s eyelids darted . He almost lifted his foot and kicked Siyi on his butt .
“Why do I need to know that?”
Siyi said happily, “Okay, I will have them restock right away . ”
Gu Shishi watched the entire incident as it unfolded .
Her shoulder went up and down .
It was so much fun watching the boss getting stumped and then getting angry because he has no words .
One way or another, it wasn’t a big deal that he was watching her swim . Everybody would be seen swimming at a public pool anyway .

The boss never said it out loud, but he was fond of her .
As long as the system was around, Gu Shishi felt that her life would be tied to the boss’s, so it’d be better if they are fond of each other . Certainly better than just maintaining a polite distance or simply disliking each other .
She was a woman of the new age and did not object to trying to be with a handsome, rich, and competent man .
There weren’t a lot of handsome men in this world, and good ones were even harder to come by .
For the purpose of painting, she has always been a very observant person and had rarely seen a man that she found attractive .
Thinking about that, Gu Shishi sighed .

“It’s not something that you need to worry so much about . ”
Huo Sishen’s thin lips were shut tightly as he watched the girl in front of him sighed, drooped her shoulders, and lowered her head . He frowned .
“Just go tell the butler if you need anything . We can always buy more of your hair ties . ”
Gu Shishi’s head lowered even more after he finished saying that .
He couldn’t help but remember her background .
She wasn’t one of those girls who were raised inside of a honey jar . She wasn’t in the habit of whining whenever she wanted something .

A real prestigious family does not look down on commoners . When a commoner was tossed suddenly into the world of prestigious families, they’d need time to adjust . Most likely, they’d let it get to their head and learned to become arrogant like a parvenu riche .

Just like when he first got the puppy that the butler had brought back for him . The old butler had to patiently potty train it and to not chew up the furniture .
His eyes narrowed before his look softened .
Even his normal deep and cold voice seemed to have warmed some .
“Starting today, I’ll have Mrs . Zheng, the head of all maids, assigned to you . She will only need to focus on you and nothing else . ” Huo Sishen paused after he said that . He tried to soften his voice up as much as he could, just like how the butler was with the puppy .
