When both Mu Rulan and Taishi Niangzi finally entered the room, Taishi Niangzi burst into laughter .

“Ahahaha… My god, that’s so funny . The expression on that idiot’s face right now was too funny, like she had to swallow a poo, hahaha… . ” She laughed, lying on the table .

Mu Rulan shook her head helplessly . It wasn’t strange for Taishi Niangzi to react like she was . Sang Han’er, that type of woman, her personality was very heavily spoiled . So whenever she acted out, she never thought through the consequences . Her way of doing things ground a person’s patience to bits . What else could Taishi Niangzi do but yell at her?

After they ate lunch at Loulan Court, the heavy rain outside immediately dampened their plans to go shopping . Taishi Niangzi had no choice but to say goodbye to her goddess .  Translated by The Novelst

The two cars drove away from each other in opposite directions, disappearing slowly in the rearview mirrors .

Chen Hai listened to Mu Rulan and drove the car towards Qinghe Resort . Looking at the heavy rain outside, he said, “Miss, did you forget something at the black house? The black house hasn’t been repaired for a long time . Look at the heavy rain; inside it’s probably very damp . It’s better not to stay there for the night . ”

Knowing that Chen Hai was simply worried, Mu Rulan explained, “Don’t worry, Uncle Hai . I’m not staying there overnight . I just have something to get before it gets soaked . ”

Chen Hai let out a sigh of relief, thinking it was nearly time for him to find someone to come and renovate the black house . It had stood there for a long time after Mu Rulan’s grandmother had left it for her . It seemed as though they wanted to rebuild the house long ago, but feeling that the house looked very ominous, the plans had ground to a halt .

And when it came to Mu Rulan’s generation, they had finally remembered the original plans, but Mu Rulan was not willing .

When the car drove into the neighborhood, Mu Rulan turned her head to the right . There was a resort there and it seemed they had nearly finished construction .

A thought crossed her mind as her smile deepened .

Chen Hai noticed the look on her face in the rearview mirror and glanced at the resort . “Miss, I heard that the resort is a getaway paradise . People who stay there long enough are said to have increased their lifespan . It’s suitable for convalescence and there are several small villas inside . People can buy those villas and move in; they only need to pay some yearly fees . ”

Chen Hai thought Mu Rulan liked the resort . The information he was telling her now was insider information . It was said that the Jin Family planned to put those houses to auction, so only a few people could reserve their spots upfront .

But of course, the prices had skyrocketed because the Jin Family had invited a few of the most popular Feng Shui masters in Hong Kong to take a look . The three had said it was a bowl of treasure and that the place had gathered the essence of heaven and earth . So there would definitely be several people vying for a spot on the auction day .

If Mu Rulan was interested, as long as Chen Hai told Grandpa Ke, he would be able to settle the matter by moving just a finger .

However, Mu Rulan shook her head . “No, I just find it odd that I can’t see that the place is a getaway paradise . ”

“Heh, I can’t see it either,” answered Chen Hai . How could ordinary people like them be able to read Feng Shui?

While they were talking the car had reached the villa . Mu Rulan got out of the car, an umbrella in one hand . She told Chen Hai to come back later to pick her up .

Inside the courtyard, the swing still hung, lonely, under the tree . Below the swing, the puppet had fallen to the ground, its clownishly large eyes and red lips still discernible . The smile on the doll’s face was odd, its red hair clumped together in a mess . It looked as though it had gotten caught in the wind and rain .

Mu Rulan walked closer, pulling on one of the threads attached to the doll . It stood up and pak, something fell out from behind its eyelid, rolling to a stop on the wet leaves . So it was the doll’s eye…

“Tsk . It’s broken,” mumbled Mu Rulan, pulling the thread and taking the puppet into the black house .

The door creaked heavily as it opened, letting out a strange odor that assailed the nose . The scent was like… rotting meat .

Mu Rulan grabbed the doll and hummed as she walked to the living room and turned on the lights . She threw the doll on top of the table, pushing away the small table and rug to reveal the entrance to the basement .

The door, once pulled, let out ice-cold air . There were no lights in the basement, so Mu Rulan grabbed a flashlight and walked down . The corridor was long, dark and cold; the sound of dripping water could be heard as she walked through .

It was as though there was something wrapped around Mu Rulan’s leg in the dark . She glanced down to see it was only a mouse . Disappointment flashed through her eyes as she kicked it away .  Translated by The Novelst

What a pity, ya . In such a ghastly house and environment with so many corpses tortured cruelly and kept inside the house, why weren’t there any ghosts? She didn’t mind seeing the people who had been turned into puppets hold on to their resentment and look for revenge as ghosts . She didn’t mind at all . She would be very excited!

Oh, ya . She suddenly remembered: Jin Moli seemed to say she was much scarier than an evil spirit? So was Mu Rulan so scary to the extent that even ghosts wouldn’t dare to come near her? Hmm . . That was interesting, ya .

Mu Rulan walked into the room at the end of the corridor, pushing at the iron door that was rusty thanks to the damp environment . She switched on the red light hanging from the ceiling, making the black marble top table look like a sacrifice table or an operating table .

She put aside the flashlight to pull on a pair of rubber gloves . She neared the corner of the table and stretched her hand underneath it to grope around and find something and pull it with some strength . And the heavy marble top table that seemed to be stuck to the floor actually hinged open like a coffin .

A white figure immediately filled her vision . The thing lying inside the table: wasn’t it the mummy she had created not long ago?
