The young Demon Hunter shrugged and waited patiently for Paki to make the next move—he was the student and Paki was the examiner so any one of his move could be taken out of context and used against him. Therefore, Ye Qi decided the best course of action was to… sit and wait.

Paki glared at the young Demon Hunter for about five minutes straight. The young Demon Hunter pretended like he didn't exist. Paki, who waited for Ye Qi to lose his cool and assault him, thus giving him the opportunity to disqualify Ye Qi, started to get impatient—with a fury burning within him, Paki really wanted to chop Ye Qi into pieces, however the thought of the test he had specially prepared for the young Demon Hunter calmed his anger and it even managed to make Paki burst into a smile.

"Apostles have superhuman powers and they are an existence above normal Demon Hunters…" Paki began with an information known to all Demon Hunters before seguing into his evil plan, "You have shown that you have excellent fire mastery but the strength of an Apostle limits itself not only his special powers but also physical combat! Therefore, new Apostle Ye Qi, your test will be on close-range combat capability! Of course, since you are familiar with swordplay, I am afraid I am unable to hold back, so while I will try not to cause any serious injury on you, you must be prepared if such accidents happen…"

Ye Qi smirked internally listening to Paki who could barely contain his glee. He was worried Paki would come up with some crazy test but it was merely a test on close quarter combat!

Could it be that Noah didn't report to the headquarters about my sword skill or…

Ye Qi couldn't help but glanced at the cold-faced guy out of the corner of his eye. Noah maintained an expression devoid of emotion, but the giant behind him seemed to show traces of… guilt on his face.

Noticing this, if the young Demon Hunter still couldn't understand what had happened, then he was truly an idiot—Noah must have left out some details of their battle or at least the parts about his mastery of close-ranged combat! The giant probably was coerced into lying for his friend, it was the only way to explain Paki's decision…

Looks like the dumb guy has been scammed!

Ye Qi sighed with pity looking at Paki.

Paki who didn't know what was waiting for him was already envisioning the ways he would torture Ye Qi. Noticing Ye Qi's gaze drifting towards Noah and Titan, Paki misunderstood that as a sign of weakness, he assumed the young Demon Hunter was appealing to them for help. Paki who had foreseen this, claimed with a wicked green, "The examiner for this test is me, so Noah and Titan do not have the right to intervene! New Apostle Ye Qi, start assuming your position immediately, if you do not initiate the test, then I will announce that you have given up the right to rise into the ranks of Apostle…"

"Let's start then!"

Ye Qi cut him off as he walked to the middle of the room—since his opponent couldn't wait for death, then the young Demon Hunter was not going to deny him that pleasure! Ye Qi considered this his good deed of the day.

Realizing Ye Qi had finally started the test under his "coercion", Paki grinned satisfactorily as his eyes burned with malice and anger—his cousin Carlos was burned into a crisp, and he became the brunt of the joke at the headquarters because he was beaten by a group of new Apostles! If not for the priest that his family hired from the Church using a great amount of money, he would still be lying in bed, unable to move! He had brought shame to himself and his family, the main perpetrator though only received the punishment of one week of incarceration?!

When he heard the news, he exploded with fury! However, since the slippery and cunning Ye Qi had always managed to stand on the right side of the law, there was nothing he could do! However, when he heard the young Demon Hunter still had to go through the Apostle test, he knew his chance had arrived!

He was one of the instructors for this batch of Apostles so he had the right to be the test examiner! When he read on Ye Qi's record, "firearms and cold steel mastery lacking", he immediately volunteered to be the examiner despite his recovering wounds.

Paki who thought he had caught Ye Qi in a pickle was going to repay the young Demon Hunter for his earlier humiliation! Of course, he would abide by the examination's rules and spare Ye Qi's life, he would only leave the young Demon Hunter in a state of incapacitation…

Paki launched the punch that he been holding in for a long time.

Right then, Paki seemed to see into the future where his opponent had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. His initially flimsy punch suddenly surged with energy! Endless power burst from within his heart and coursed through his whole body! At that moment, Paki had full confidence that victory was already his!

However, the next moment, Paki felt a flash of fiendish energy crackled in the air. A dash of lightning materialized from his opponent's hand, heading directly for his neck. He could smell the stale dankness of death cutting through the air.

Almost subconsciously, Paki's Hallowed Artefact, Ancient Bark was activated and a brown colored armour that seemed to be made out of wood appeared on his body, blocking the fatal blow! However, before he could sigh in relief, he felt a cold sense of pain radiating from his legs and hands and he was drowned in extreme pain…

"Sorry, I'm unable to hold back…"

The insincere apology was the last thing he heard before going under…

"New Apostle, Ye Qi passed the test, and has officially become an Apostle! Congratulations!"

The cold-faced man's announcement was as insincere as the young Demon Hunter's apology. The young Demon Hunter shrugged and shifted his attention to the system.

"Completion of C+ Quest: The Apostle's Test. Reward: 3000 experience…"

Congratulations, your character has levelled up to level 8, your profession to level 4. Your wounds, and mana have been fully recovered. You have been rewarded with ten Unassigned Skill Mastery Points."

Even though he didn't gain any new Specialization or Stat point, he did gain a new spell slot with the level increase. The young Demon Hunter decided to hold his Skill Mastery points for now. Then he turned his attention to the spells.
