Chapter 10
Chapter 10: A fresh start .
The season changed, the short summer in the royal capital was coming to an end .
Berta's spirit returned to normal as her health recovered .
"I have to thank the Queen Mother for her kindness . Will you write to her, to see if I can go to visit her in these days?"
Berta is feeling dizzy, after drinking the medicine the doctor prescribed .
This time Berta, who took the biggest physical burden of her life, pregnancy, childbirth and a long diplomatic battle against the aristocratic faction, was finally feeling relieved that all her hard work was giving fruits .
Yet, it cost to pay was big too, and the doctors were very worried for all the mental fatigue she was suffering .
Her physical slow recovery was the clear proof of it, but as long as she was still recovering, everybody wished it doesn't affect her in the future .
"Princess, just because you can get up, you shouldn't take it easy right away!"
If there was one problem, it was that those around her became very overprotective of Berta, they were worried about her long weakness, that still didn't fade completely .
Since Berta, as soon as recovered her health a little, started to move without rest again, they started to haunt her in the same way .
"It's been three days since you gave me permission to get up, and I'm tired of resting! Even the doctors are convinced that I'm fine now . "
"The Princess looks fine and then all of a sudden gets a fever in the middle of the night . "
"That was when I was about five years old . "
She was weak and heartbroken, that is true, but Berta didn't have the luxury of caring about how she was viewed by those around her .
For a long time, she has to leave everything to them, so it's time for her to stop indulging herself, also she would feel embarrassed afterwards, the kindness of her people is too much for her to bear .
The newly hired servants, were worried about her health too, so they took care of everything silently, even of Berta herself without her noticing .
"Your Highness . How about having the Queen Mother come over instead? She has said that she wants to see Prince Louis . The Prince has not yet left the house and if he is the reason, it would not be outrageous to invite her here . "
The other new maids seem to like Johanna's proposal too .

(I can still understand the over protectiveness of Kasha's maids . But certainly I admire them, taking care of her in her worst moments as if they know her better than she herself . In this royal palace so divided, they move and think like one . . . )
The group of 'rookie ladies' as known in the palace, were many noble ladies that like Johanna, couldn't even be considered nobles anymore .
They were accepted and embraced by Berta's maids quickly .
Somehow, in these few months, they all became a united group, since they all feel the same .

The King is the only one who isn't aware yet, that all those around him became sympathizing of Berta, and are really disappointed on his actions .
Immediately after that exchange with the king, Berta decided to write a letter to her father, without a moment hesitation .
It's already common in Petra, that when a woman has problem in her marital house, she'll rely on her birth family .

After informing him that the Queen wants to take her son away, and the King won't help her, she asked her father for help, all she wants is to live quietly with his son in her palace .
She knows her father has the means, but he didn't have any ambition of making his grandson King, he didn't even expect a grandson from the seedless King .
So what she doesn't know is how her father will react and if he's really capable of helping her in this situation .
But Bertha's request is exactly what the Kasha's clan, as the crown prince's native relatives, were waiting for . . . To intervene in the royal household .

Although the interaction with the Queen Mother suddenly and unexpectedly began, Berta welcomed her happily, not only for her position but also because it gave her a sense of security having an ally in the Palace .
It's time for the Second Queen and the Mother Queen to have a long conversation .
The Queen Mother, since Berta first came to the Palace, was one of the few people that showed a calm reaction in front of her .
