“Ms. Du, why are you here?” Lu Beixiao asked with a very disdainful tone.
“What’s wrong? As a mother, can’t I come to my son’s and daughter-in-law’s house to have a look?!” Ms. Du said in a bad mood. He acted as though she had no right whatsoever to be there.
“Auntie! Brother Xiao didn’t mean that! Please don’t be angry!” Ye Qiao quickly tried to mediate between them and kicked Lu Beixiao under the table.
That was exactly what he wanted to mean though.
However, for the sake of his wife, he would give Mrs. Du some face.
“I’m here to visit Qiao Qiao,” Mrs. Du rolled her eyes at Lu Beixiao and said. Then, she turned around and looked at Ye Qiao with an amiable smile.
“Qiao Qiao, you had such a big incident that night. Everyone was quite concerned about you. You weren’t hurt that night, right?” she asked concerningly.
