Listening to He Shan’s words, Pan Ling fell to the ground feeling hurt at He Shan’s words and had flashes of thoughts galloped across her mind.
“He Shan! You idiot! You’ll die in the hands of these spies sooner or later. Idiot!” Pan Ling said angrily with her fists pounding the ground. Meanwhile, Ye Qiao felt amused watching how angry and broken Pan Ling was for not being trusted by He Shan.
She was afraid that she wouldn’t be able to continue acting and just burst into laughter.
However, she was still nervous. What if He Shan’s mercenaries rushed in and end up beating her to death.
“Brother Shan, since sister-in-law is acusing me of being a spy, I will personally take her out for the sake of my innocence,” Lu Beixiao said as he lunged forward.
However, Ye Qiao reacted faster than him and immediately pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger once more. She was afraid that he would’nt be able to dodge the bullet in time but Lu Beixiao was known as the ‘God of War’, of course he was able to dodge easily.
After that, Ye Qiao went on to the finale of her act. She aimed the gun to her temple and exclaimed, “Even if i die, I will not die in the hands of evil people such as yourselves!”.
Bang!
A single gunshot was heard and blood splattered everywhere as if fiery red flowers bloomed on the pure white wall.
Ye Qiao’s body fell to the ground.
Although it was all an act, the realistic look of it made Lu Beixiao’s heart skip a beat.
Pan Ling was stunned as she did not expect Ye Qiao to commit suicide. She stared blankly at the scene for a moment. After a long pause, the corners of her mouth curled up proudly.
“Good job! The spy is dead!” she shouted.
“Sister-in-law, don’t you believe me? If I hadn’t dodge that bullet in time, I would have been dead by the hands of this stupid girl!” Lu Beixiao said fiercely while glaring angrily at Pan Ling who was crawling on the ground.
He Shan walked towards Pan Ling and stepped on her hand. Pan ling let out a scream due to pain. “Pan Ling! If you continue to talk nonsense, do you not believe that I will cut your tongue off?!” he said sternly to her.
“He Shan, why don’t you believe me,” she replied. Pan Ling’s voice gradually became softer when she replied him.
Two of the mercenaries clad in camouflage hats and paint in the background carried away Ye Qiao’s ‘dead’ body. They threw the body into the car and had it sent to the grave. Ye Qiao laid in the car as still as she could to mimic a dead body. She didn’t even dare to breathe as she was afraid she would be caught. If she were to get caught still alive and breathing, the two mercenaries will have no qualms to ensure that she would not take another breath again.
However, she was quite relieved that the act was succesful despite things not going the way they had planned. The first part of the plan was for her to attempt running and deliberately get caught which went according to what they had in mind. However, the intial plan started to crumble when Pan Ling appeared out of nowhere. Lu Beixiao was supposed to bring her out of the villa to ‘kill’ her and she would just have to play dead. Fortunately, Lu Beixiao had already told her that the first two bullets in his gun were live ammunition while the third round would be a blank.
In spite of the hiccups along their plan, Lu Beixiao played along perfectly to Ye Qiao’s impromptu act.
However, the whole incident gave Ye Qiao a huge scare.
These mercenaries had done all kinds of evil things. If things had gone differently, she would just simply be another corpse to their list.
During the car ride, her body kept bouncing around as the roads of the mountain were filled with gravel. She was really afraid that the mercenaries would find out that she was still alive. It was very uncomfortable and she felt nauseous but she knew she had to keep her act together.
She thought to herself, “Ye Qiao, take a breath. You can do this.”
Just when Ye Qiao was about to throw up, she heard Ye Cheng’s annoying voice call out.

Ye Qiao was confused. She thought that she was hallucinating and kept pretending.
“Xiao Qiao! Stop pretending. It’s us!”
