Chapter 53
Monster Paradise Chapter 53

The Yin Crow flock rapidly flew towards the direction of the stronghold. At a distance, it looked a giant storm cloud floating over the Goddess Ridge. From the looks of it, it was significantly larger than the flock Lin Huang faced.

The millions of Yin Crows under the guidance of a transcendent were virtually invincible.

Even a top ranking Hunter like Yi Zheng would have to take shelter in the face of such a flock.

With the appearance of this new threat, the monster horde rose to a entirely new threat level. It was nearing the Nightmare tier which was more than enough to wipe out a medium stronghold without a transcendent guarding it.

The arrival of this Yin Crow flock snuffed out whatever embers of hope the Hunters had left.

Seeing the distant flock, Lin Huang’s heart sank.

With over a million monsters flooding in from the grassland and the giant Yin Crow flock flying in from the black.

This stronghold is going to fall after all…

Yi Yeyu’s face looked extremely terrible at this moment as she stood atop the giant boulder. She truly regretted choosing this stronghold as an examination venue. If Yi Zheng didn’t come here, she was ready to defend to her dying breath but now that he was here, things got complicated. She knew that if she didn’t leave, her brother would never leave and so her staying here would harm her brother. She was faced with a difficult conundrum…

Yi Zheng was also familiar with his sister’s personality:  stubborn and resolute. While she had a short temper at times but she was a compassionate person. She would never abandon these 200,000 residents to save her life. Even if it was a stronghold she happened to pass by that faced a monster horde, she would stay behind and defend that stronghold to the death.

“Yeyu, use your dimensional door to send those kids away!” Yi Zheng shouted at her, well aware that the chances of her leaving would be low.

“I’m not leaving!” Yi Yeyu stared back at Yi Zheng.

“Even if it’s not for yourself, you need to think about our family. We are the last two members of our family. Both of us cannot die here!” Yi Zheng tried convincing her once more, “ What about those teenagers, especially Lin Huang. Can you bear to see him give up his life here? Given enough time, he would definitely become a transcendent. We must not let him lose his life here!”

Hearing that, Yi Yeyu finally wavered. Like what her brother said, they were the last two members of her family. If they both died here, their family’s lineage would end with their generation. Plus, she greatly admired Lin Huang and did not want him to die here.

After a moment of silence, she turned towards Yi Zheng and shouted, “Brother, I’ll transfer the dimensional door over to you. You can transfer the teenagers away. I’ll stay here!”

“What nonsense! If there’s anyone who should leave, it’s you. You are my younger sister, you have to listen to me!” Yi Zheng shouted at the top of his lungs.

“You told me to think about our family but you leaving would be better for our family. Your talent is much higher than mine. Our family would benefit more from you leaving than me so me staying behind is the right choice.” Yi Yeyu’s rebuttal left him speechless.

The both of them ended up in a stalemate while the Yin Crow flock flew ever closer.

By now, there were hunters starting to giv

e up. Their faces were ashen, completely devoid of hope as they mechanically swung their weapons.

Following the dramatic drop in morale, the three defensive layers finally broke down. At the second layer, hundreds of silver hunters were simultaneously defeated. The third layer started to show signs of collapse soon after. A short while later, the entire second defensive layer collapsed.

Lin Huang and his team could only fight to the death as the defensive layer in front of them collapsed. As monsters streamed towards them from the front, these teenagers were soon surrounded.

“Everyone, maintain the defensive formation! Don’t let them disperse you!” Lin Huang shouted his commands.

After two days of fighting together, the other teenagers had complete faith in Lin Huang and his words. Up till now, they hadn’t been disappointed by them ever.

This trust allowed them to quickly form into a defensive formation and continue their desperate defence. They knew that once the Yin Crow flock arrived, they were all dead. But under Lin Huang’s leadership, they still maintained their strong desire to live.

Lin Huang’s heart was wildly beating while he fought the monsters. Given his current condition, every fight was a dance with death; each attack he faced had enough power to kill him in his weakened state. Furthermore, now that the second layer had collapsed, they were no longer facing a limited amount of monsters but instead faced the full wrath of the horde. Having been surrounded, it was truly a dance with death. One misstep would likely lead to one’s death.

[Warning! Master’s is in grave danger. Within half an hour, the likelihood of death will reach 100% Do you wish to enact emergency measures?!]

A warning rang out in Lin Huang’s ear. This was the first time he heard Kuro speak to him with a voice.

“Yes! Tell me what’s the solution?!” He immediately asked.

[Scanning Master’s current stockpile of cards...You do not possess any cards that can help you escape…]

Hearing this, his heart sunk. However a short moment later, Kuro’s voice rang out once more.

[Based on the current situation, the most suitable card to use would be a small Extinction Card]

[Master has 3 monster cards, 9 support cards, 3657 BlackIron monster card fragments...If all of them are converted into fragments, you would have 22557 fragments. The first small Extinction Card costs 1 million card fragments. You have an insufficient amount of fragments…]

“Wait, why do I only have 9 support cards? Not counting Shirou’s kills, the amount of higher ranked monsters I’ve killed these past two days should have been over 500. Don’t I get a reward for killing a monster ranked higher than me?! Why is it only 9”

[Master’s kill count is too high. Master has been suspected of purposely halting one’s advancement in order to gain more rewards. A new rule has been added in light of this: Master can only gain 10 such rewards per cultivation realm.]

“Kuro, it’s fine that you placed a limit on my rewards! But there’s one thing I want to make clear! The reason why I halted my advancement into the BlackIron realm is because I am looking for a suitable Life Seed. If this was the reason you decided to limit my rewards then this rule is truly laughable!” Lin Huang was livid at this point.

“Besides, the fault lies with a loophole in your own rules but instead pushed the responsibility onto me. Without even giving me a heads up, you changed the rules. That’s completely unfair towards me!”

Lin Huang wasn’t angry about the cards he lost out on but was instead angry about Kuro’s judgement. Saying that he purposely farmed the bonus rewards was maligning him. He truly did it because of his Life Seed issue. At that time, he barely had time to think about the bonus reward. Only after killing a lot of monsters did he suddenly recall the issue of bonus rewards.

[Master speaks truthfully, revising the verdict...Master has been cleared of any wrongdoing.]

[This incident is determined to have been caused by a loophole in the rules. Due to the sudden implementation of a new rule, Master is entitled to compensation.]

[In light of Master’s current situation, the compensation is a small Extinction Card!]

[A viable solution to Master’s predicament has been detected ------ a small Extinction Card! Do you wish to use it?]

“This card can solve our crisis? What are its functions?” Lin Huang was too busy to perform his usual inspection and instead asked Kuro.

[Small Extinction Card: able to annihilate any targets under the transcendent realm, Effective area of effect :10,000 km.]

“I choose to use the Extinction Card; target everything that isn’t Shirou or a human.” Lin Huang quickly came to a decision based upon its description.

[Target has been chosen. Please select the target area!]

A map appeared in Lin Huang’s head as Kuro said so. On it were a sea of tiny dots, each representing a monster.

Lin Huang circled the entire monster horde and said, “I’ve made my decision.”

[Target area has been selected. Please confirm the usage of the small Extinction Card.]

“Use it. Annihilate them!” Lin Huang nodded forcefully as he said this.

As he did so, a blinding mote of light appeared on his forehead.

That mote of light shone like a miniature sun in the darkness before dawn. It slowly floated from his forehead and into the sky, illuminating the entire battlefield.

A number of people started noticing this change and watched in awe at the spectacle.

A moment later, it emitted a ring of light which radiated towards into the distance like a ripple on a calm lake.

Wherever that ring passes through, monsters that were caught in it were rapidly carbonized. An instant later, they disintegrated into a fine powder.

Everyone stared in shock at the phenomenon happening in front of them. Even the Yin Crow flock in the distance melted under the radiant light like snow.

“Is this a Deity Art?!” Yi Yeyu exclaimed in surprise atop her giant boulder. Her eyes widened in awe as she looked at the source of this light, Lin Huang.

It only took the span of a few breaths to wipe out all the monsters in sight. Having completed its task, the terrifying mote of light gradually dimmed and disappeared.

The silent battlefield spontaneously erupted as hunters from all defensive layers howled in joy.
