I am called Pinky, a little mermaid.
I was the cowardly mermaid who ran away after our country was attacked by the fishmen even though I was a royalty, such a miserable existence. My mother's tangle magic wrapped my body in seaweeds. Nobody would recognize me as a mermaid anymore. This seaweed façade makes me even more miserable.
I don't have anyone to call for outside help. In addition, is there anybody who can defeat the sea serpents in the first place? Only the heroes from fairytales are the only ones I heard that are unbeatable.
After thinking about it, I decided to aim towards the coastlines. I don't know if there are still heroes that exist today so I have no choice but to ask the humans. Though, I do not have any idea how the humans fight in the ocean. It is a desperate choice.
Outside the country, it is dangerous. Big sharks, poisonous sea anemones, giant squids and occasionally, sea serpents would pass by. I'm really scared.
The tangle magic will continue to wrap me in seaweeds unless it is cancelled personally by me. There is also an additional effect of anti-recognition. I was really afraid when I swam through the ocean.
Something glittery shined ahead. It seems light was reflected on a metal. Is it a knife or something that fell into the ocean? When I approached it, it looked like a doll. It is sparkling and it's beautiful. I swam straight towards it. In that direction is the deepest part of the sea also called as the dark sea. The doll walked towards the dark sea without hesitation and is clearly has some purpose to go there.
At that time, a shadow crossed over me. While I desperately restrained my voice that is threatening to go out, I looked up to see that it was a sea serpent. It was bigger than the sea serpent the fishmen followed.
The sea serpent approached the doll. Speaking of which, sea serpents were a type of dragon and I heard that they also had a habit of collecting shiny things.
The sea serpent suddenly attacked the doll and the doll was hit by a water breath. I can't do anything, I can only watch the doll being torn silently.
When the breath was over and the whirling sand finally calmed down, there I saw the doll in full shape. There was not a single scar seen! I could not believe the sight before my very eyes.
The sea serpent also noticed that the doll did not receive a single scratch so it opened its large mouth and tried to bite the doll. Although the doll was submerged in water, it still moved quickly to appear in front of the serpent's face and punched. I couldn't even capture the moment the punch hit. But since the doll retained its posture after blowing the serpent away, I thought the doll would surely beat me next.
The sea serpent ran away staggering. Sea Serpents were also called the Sea Gangs! I could not believe what is happening!
The doll did not chase after the sea serpent but merely watched at its running figure. That immovable appearance looked like a king so I could not take my eyes off that figure.
