I am called Pinky, a little mermaid.
My name was derived from my pink hair. It's a little cheap. By the way, I am also the mermaid country's third princess.
Our mermaid county is peaceful and beautiful. It is quite close to the land but it is protected by a barrier so the humans can't enter.
Humans will try to catch us the moment they saw us so we do not swim close to the shore. However, humans have the techniques to process metal that we did not.
The sharp kitchen knives and combat knives can only be acquired through trades with humans. I have never been there but I heard that the trades were held at the coastlines.
But suddenly, fishmen appeared in our peaceful country.
These creatures are the opposites of us mermaids, having an upper body of a fish and lower bodies of humans. They also possess hands so they can use weapons just like us.
We don't really have interactions with the fishmen. In the old days, it seems that the mermaids and fishmen all lived in the same country but they had a big dispute so they separated and formed their own country.
After the separation, they should have negotiated with a peace treaty.
But the fishmen followed the Three Sea Serpents also known as the Gang of the Seas and attacked our country using 300 soldiers.
One sea serpent got into a rampage. How should I react? I'm scared and I can't stop trembling.
We mermaids fought without losing but our formation was destroyed before the serpent's breath and the fishmen surged towards the capital all at once.
I was called by my mother, the queen of the mermaid country. She told me that only I can escape. But the royal family should not flee! I did not nod my head.
Eventually, the fishmen arrived and assaulted the royal palace. All the citizens who evacuated here were also helpless and had no choice but to surrender.
My mother once again urged me.
「Only you can escape so go!」
Outside, I can already hear the angry shouts and blood-curling screams. I'm scared. I want to run away. My mother consoled the scared me.
「After you escape, immediately look for help. Only you can do this.」
My mother hastily made some excuse for me to get away. It's not an escape anymore but an excuse to call for help.

Cowardly, I obeyed mother's order and entered a hidden passage. I can't stop my tears. While crying, I fled the mermaid country.
