Targeting the streamers

Although I feel a little bad for the streamers, there is nothing better than this way of relieving my stress.

My first target was a BJ(Korean term for streamer) Ruygod, who is gonna be a renowned BJ in the future.

For now he only has a few hundred viewers, but in the future, he is gonna become a main BJ of Paprika TV who has more than ten thousand fans watching his live streaming of playing LOL

-Hey big bros (His audience). We go zoom here once with alpha, basic attack than meditate. How was that, easy huh?

Chewing onto ramen pieces seasoned well with ramen powder, I was watching Ruygod’s live stream.

Why am I doing this when I am supposed to be desperate to reach the top tier?

Although I am still in silver after regression but time is still on my side.

Not till the extent of being lazy, it is a timing for me to enjoy this privilege.

Furthermore, deep sea is something that you will not be able to enjoy in the future when your rank goes up higher.

It’s too wasteful to miss all the fun you can have here in the deep sea.

One of the numerous contents you can enjoy here is targeting the BJ.

It’s still the period when there are only a few hundreds of viewers watching Ruygod’s show on Paprika TV.

And in this period, as many people were still unaware of the concept of targeting, it was very easy to do it.

After 1 to 2 years, BJs will start covering up their display when queuing for matches to prevent them from getting targeted.

In the perspective of the BJs, it is definitely frustrating, and I can understand that.

There are people who insult them in chats, or play games with bad manner.

For that, in some cases, BJs really do receive many distractions in their stream.

However, I did not hesitate at all.

Why?

It is fun for those who bully!

I did not want consider what’s right or wrong for a moment of joy.

Unless I go overboard, at certain level, it can be part of entertainment for BJs to give their viewers.

In reality, many streamers take videos of them getting bullied by those people who target them, and they are one of their main contents in their shows.

And It’s not like I was going to troll intentionally in the game.

For streamers, it is important to entertain their viewers, and hence, they should understand that people do want to play the same game with them as well.

Anyway, that’s just my thought.

By the way, what exactly is “targeting” in this context?

Targeting, is making use of the player MMR, which is a concept designed to let players of similar standards play together in a match. Using this, by having similar MMR with the BJs, one can easily get into the same match with the steamers.

Moreover, as viewers are watching their streams at the same time, they can get into queue in a similar timing as the streamers, increasing the chances of playing together.

In other words, the fundamentals of targeting, is the act of viewers who are big =fans of their streamer trying to get into the same match to play together.

People make use of this with bad intentions, or to giggle at others, but I am not a loser to do all those.

“If you are a man, you got to show them your skills.”

Getting attention with bad manner is the wrong way, but I am on the right path.

My objective is to take everything from them.

To the extent of draining out their tears.

Bang!

The match was found at the right time.

As I checked the stream, I noticed that I was the opponent of Ruygod.

I checked the champions that were banned and the selected champions.

Comparing the banned picks of the champions, indeed it was the same match.

To get into the match, I needed the screen of Ruygod’s stream, but now is the time to switch it off.

Ruygod is a type of guy who pushes the blame to something else with no shame.

He always argues that the opponent was peeping at his stream while playing whenever he lost.

I did not want to do that.

-Welcome to the summoner’s battlefield.

With the familiar voice of a female, the game has begun.

Of course, I will meet Ruygod on the same lane.

We were both on the mid lane.

Ruygod is playing his main champion, a battle mage.

He plays it with a unique style.

Commonly, battle mages are grouped as AD champions, but he invests more on casting.

It is unique, but it’s efficient in its own way as well.

Basically, for battle mages, they have spell power and AP counts.

Of course, there is only one attacking skill with the AP counts.

And therefore, as it has low efficiency in damage, many users do not use battle mages.

But there is a reason for Ruygod to main this champion.

It’s because it is good for team fights.

AP Battle mage’s ult, the last warrior grants a reset of skill cool down time when an enemy is slained.

This will mean that, it can use the main attacking skill Q, which is the alpha slash another time.

As there is 1 AP counts in Q skill, for battle mage who has high spell power, alpha slash become an extremely deadly skill.

If it is possible to keep reusing it in team fights, you can easily wipe all the opponent out.

Among the five champions, once one is down, the game will end.

It is a piece of cake to wipe the remaining 4 one by one like a domino.

But killing the one out of five is always the hardest part.

It is hard to expect your teammates to support you in doing it.

Everyone want to take kills, not just inflicting damages for others to take them.

Furthermore, Battle mages has low HP.

As it requires more investment in defensive items, it can die easily if it enters the team fight wrongly.

“Indeed a hard champion to play.”

Many people do not use this hero for such reason except Ruygod.

And I am challenging him face to face.

The game has started and we started to play against each other on the mid lane.

Zooooom!

Ruygod was taking cs just with alpha slash.

He would have wanted to take it with close attack or basic attack but he won’t be able to do so.

If he gets near to the minions, I will be able to attack him.

“For AP battle Mage, Chogart is the answer.”

Ruygod’s actual tier is diamond 1.

He picked battle Mage thinking that we would all be silver tier standard.

To counter that I picked Chogart.

Just like how fire can never win magma, his champion could never beat my champion.

I was just about to prove this in the game.

POWW!

Chogart’s W skill, the brave roar can be used to deal some damage on the battle Mage.

It’s an AOE damage which can also silence the opponents hit.

Ruygod was shamefully getting beaten by me.

Surely he was going to give excuse on the mic.

I could already guess what he would say.

And I was going to silence his last excuse.

I was curious if he could give excuses even after getting solo killed.

Soon, my chance came.

I spammed all my skills to kill him, and the result was obvious.

Ruygod was using meditation, a w skill to recover his low health.

If meditation was used, the battle Mage will not be able to move for 5 seconds but they can recover health really quick.

But not being able to move is a crucial disadvantage.

I could not let go of my chance of taking the first blood.

BAAM!

I used the Q skill of Chogart, doom.

I used it on the place where Ruygod was healing.

Doom deals damage by making thorns appear from the ground, stunning them in the air.

Chogart is rated as a bad champion in general for having a skill casting time of 1 second, but not when you are against a battle Mage.

For battle Mage staying still to heal, he has nowhere to run. Not even being able to resist the attack, they an easy target.

Ruygod’s battle Mage who got into doom was dealt with a little damage and was stunned.

Without hesitation, I used front blink to kill him.

Summoner’s skill “blink”.

It exists in most of the AOS games just like in Lord of Lord.

It allows the champion to move from point to point instantly to avoid attacks.

As it is useful, it has a long cool down of 5minutes.

And still, most of the champions require this skill as it is essential.

Commonly it is used to run away or avoid attacks.

Front blinking is making use of this movement to get closer to the opponent.

In season 2, this skill was only used by top ranked players but I could have used it easily.

To get the first blood, and clench the first point for our team.

The thrill of first blood is the reason why I like LOL.

I then used the brave roar to silence Ruygod.

And I further used ignite on him.

Ignite is another summoner’s skill with different effect from blink.

It burns the enemy champion and deals extra damage.

It also has a side effect of decreasing enemy’s heal rate.

Although his meditation was already stopped by my Q skill.

-First blood!

An enemy has been slained!

I finished the fight with basic attack.

Chogart’s basic attack with thorns are strong.

Lane fight’s solo kill feels so sweet beating the opponent.

Although Ruygod died once but he would still think that he can redeem himself soon because here was the deep sea (relatively low tiers).

Acting as if he was fine, He would have been saying this on stream.

But this will be the last.

Not only am I not a silver player, I just returned to the base shop and now there is a big gap our items.

First Blood was just an introduction.

I was confident that his playing time will be lesser than the time he stared on his grey screen.

YumYumYumYumYum-!

-Enemy was slained!

‘Allmaster’ is legendary!

My Chogart’s ult, one bite meal, brought me easily kills.

One bite meal dealt a huge amount of fixed damage directly.

Ruygod’s battle Mage just got his 5th deaths just now.

He was killed by me 4 times, and he got killed again by the jungler on our team who wanted free kills”

Game score was 15:0.

As mid lane was down, it affected the other lanes as well.

As the result was too obvious, I decided to watch Ruygod’s stream to see what he was saying,

Ruygod was acting cool as always.

But clearly I could see that he was stunned.

He kept biting his tongue a few times while talking.

I could see on the screen that he was unhappy and disturbed.

Beating BJs with distinctively different level of skills!

This is truly the taste of targeting the BJs.

As I was about to turn off the screen, I could hear Ruygod saying.

Repeated excuses.

From all those, the word, “No” is the most common excuses for any user in LOL.

Although it just makes them worse, many people still use them.

But there was a phrase that made me exceptionally happy.

“Not master but grandmaster..”

Although it was a praise from the fake grandmaster, Ruygod who is actually diamond 1, I still felt a sense of delight.

I was acknowledged as a grandmaster for the first time in my life.
