1.

Prologue. I’m the only Master.

I am Master (tier)

Furthermore, I am the master of the master who can handle up to 150 champions on all 5 lanes.

This may seem cool, but it doesn’t really have much use in reality.

“That’s because I’m in the professional gaming team..’

Among my friends, everyone treats you like a god if you are at diamond tier. However, in the professional league, the tier “master” can never be one’s pride.

Of course I never meant this tier is common in the game as well.

Starting from bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond, and then master.

Within the country, gamers of this tier are the top 1000 people among a few millions of “Lord of Lord” users.

In other words, it is the fame of the extreme minority of talented players in the game.

However, if your ambition is to be a professional player, you have to attain a higher tier than master.

Among the “masters”, you have to be the top 200 players who are grouped as the “Grandmasters”, the top of the top.

To be successful as the pro gamer not as an amateur, grandmaster is like a default condition.

If you want to be one of the main players in the team, you have to possess skills at least of such standard.

I, SiHyeon Kim, belong to the professional team called “Matbam” as a trainee player.

Obviously, in my environment, it is unusual to find players who are not grandmasters.

However, strangely, I am the only master of the of those outstanding players.

That’s the problem.

“Shit.”

Actually, it is not like I have no strengths at all.

I have exceptionally wide champion pool.

No matter how skillful the pro gamers are, the champions that they can handle really well limits up to 5 at most.

the fact that one can handle almost all the champions in LoL(Load of Lord), is a prominent advantage.

This means that I am flexible against any hero balance adjustments, and can counter opponents that come with unusual hero picks.

“But so what, there is no champion that I specializes in.”

Why is this so?

I can handle every champion above the average standard, but I do not have main heroes that I am special in.

At this point, I may be doing well in solo queues, but there is not much hope as a professional player.

Even so, I am not able to give up my dream as a pro gamer,

Even if people that I’m close to tell me to give up, shaking their heads.

I know that they don’t mean anything to harm me, neither am I unaware of the harsh reality, but I just don’t feel like letting go of this dream.

“It’s already been 5 years..”

Half of my youth has been wasted.

I lost my timing to change my dream a long time ago.

It’s not like I neglect the reality either.

I have already dumped my dream of becoming a famous star in the country.

And I chose the last resort that I did not really wanted.

It was to enter low tier team in China, and earn as much as I could.

And then to make use of such experience to be the gaming coach.

As a pro gamer, I am just the substitute of the team, but I definitely have the potential to be a good coach.

This is mostly because I have wide hero pool, and can handle every lane.

This is the only objective and hope in my life as I had not prepared any alternative options.

And hence, I have to please the manager.

I have to sign contract with Chinese teams, even if I have to beg him for this opportunity.

Having faith in this one and only wish, I have been washing dishes for my team Matbam for 2 years.

” When would I be able to stop being the servant of my manager..”

Exiting the dormitory of the gaming team, I strolled around the place continuing my thoughts.

It’s not like I came out because I have nothing better to do but it was to do my manager a favor by buying back cigarette packs for him.

That brat does not smoke anything other than “THIS”(a name of cigar) that smells like mold.

He made me travel such long distance just because he ran out of cigarettes.

He doesn’t listen even if I told him to borrow other cigarettes.

And I am in the situation to please him even if he mistreats me.

With sorrowful thoughts, I made my way to the nearest convenient store.

“Thank you for visiting.”

I came out of the store after purchasing the cigar with some change.

As I close the door, I heard a bronze bell ringing loudly.

Out of a sudden, that random ringing of the bell became the fuse of my worries, and blasted them in my head.

Starting from the fact that I’ll have to return to the dorm that I am sick of, incoherent thoughts began to confuse my mind.

“THIS, THIS..”

Whenever I pass the cigar to my manager, he would turn his head away without a word. It’s something that repeats in my daily life.

When would this unbearable life stop.

And till when do I have to keep it within myself.

I was exhausted, way too much.

“Hopefully the result releases before the year ends..”

I think that brat at least feels a little sorry for me.

He even made a pinky promise that he will find a vacant place for me among the Chinese teams.

Last year, he only told me that he will find it if possible.

Therefore, I consoled myself it is worthy to put up with all this just once more, for the very last time.

“Yes, there will be light one day after all these struggles.”

Waiting for the traffic light to turn green, I hid all my thoughts deep inside my mind.

I could not be expressing my feelings in the dorm.

After a while, the light turned green.

I crossed the road with heavy footsteps.

‘What’s my schedule for today..”

Worrying for my future is important but so are the problems that I am facing now.

If I solve it one by one, then one day, things will turn better. As I walk on the zebra crossing with various thoughts, I felt sudden goosebumps as if something stroke a bell in my head hard. .

The light was green and clearly, all the cars were stopped.

It could have been nothing, but there were always possibilities.

I slowly turn my heard to the right.

“Bang!”

It was too late.

A truck that seemed 2 tons heavy dashed past me without stopping.

Without any pain, my body flew away.

Through the blurred sight, the world spinned as if it was dancing.

“Boy! Boy!”

I could see a bald man through the blurred eyes that was almost closing.

Perhaps the man was the truck driver.

At the same time, I felt a sudden warmth.

The crimson red blood from my body soaked my clothes.

I tried my best to lift my body up but it went out of my control.

Not moving, I could feel myself losing consciousness.

As it gets dimmer, it felt as if my soul was exiting my body.

Maybe this is how the last moment of life feels like.

Till the age of 27, I spent my life putting up with others.

I struggled as a pro gamer trainee, SiHyeon Kim.

My empathetic life ended this way just by the truck driver who fell asleep while driving.

I thought it would be the full-stop to the story of my life.
