Once again, the two of them were completely stunned.

If the two bats were like most people, they would’ve given up after a few sleepless nights. They were not like normal people however, and they managed to withstand Li Mu’s torture for almost a month before they finally showed signs of breaking.
A month had been wasted because of that.
If they still hadn’t cracked, Li Mu would’ve had a breakdown himself!
Fortunately, the one month’s work bore results.
He’d acquired a lot of information about the world he was in from the two bats.
The first thing he found out was that humans were regarded as nothing more than prey and livestock to them. Humans were worth nothing more than bugs.
But as for the origin of the West Continent Desolated Desert, the bats had no information about it.
“That’s why Xu Xiao kept saying their world was too cruel to live in and that their disciples would rather die than live without enough experience…” Li Mu let out a long sigh.
He finally understood the helplessness in Xu Xiao’s words.
If one was not strong enough, they would just become fodder for other species like the Bat Clan.
The Bat Clan was able to strengthen themselves by consuming humans. That was why those who were weak ended up becoming nutrition for those who were strong.
And the stronger the enemy got, the harder life was for the human race.
To put it in a simpler term, those who weren’t strong enough would just be helping their enemies.
After that, Li Mu continued to interrogate the two bat for another month, making sure that they had no other information to share.
After they’d outlived their usefulness, Li Mu severed their heads off their necks. He then lit a fire and threw the corpses into the flame.
“What a waste. The wood from these trees were supposed to make a fine horse carriage. You two are lucky that I’m using such fine wood to burn your bodies. But, damn! You guys still reek after being burned.”
From what he’d learned from the two bats, the place he was in was supposedly a peninsula. He would be able to find a way back to his world by passing through the West Continent Desolated Desert.
The only problem was that the path was most likely destroyed during the Ancient War.
Another problem persisted as well. Li Mu’s world had barriers erected all around it by the human race to lock the place from the outside world.
The world he was in had a lot of peninsulas, islands, and caves, a place that could be called a small world after being separated from the outside world by powerful people.
This place was more like the Forbidden Grounds in the Sacred Ground.
“So, if I continue west and go through the desert, I will leave this small world? Sigh… That’s too rough. Do I even want to do it?”
At first, Li Mu was looking forward to the outside world, but the information he got from the bats made him give up on his wish of experiencing every corner of the vast world.
Meanwhile, inside a cave, the Master continued to watch as the jade pendants broke one by one.
After a moment of silence, the Master roared, “Damn you, humans! Damn you!”
His roar lasted for minutes. “I want revenge! The Human Clan will pay! They will suffer!”
“Master, it’s time for us to teach the humans a lesson for trying to fight back!”
For the next few months, Li Mu roamed the world to burn the remaining dead bodies of the Bat Clan.
When that was done, he began to collect prenatal stones and other resources while checking in every day and storing the items he received.
Thirty years passed in the blink of an eye.
Inside a forest, just ten thousand miles outside of the West Continent, around a hundred people were moving towards the east.
The group consisted of people of various ages. They looked like members of a huge family and every one of them had scratches or wounds on them.
The whole atmosphere around them was gloomy.
“That freaking Bat Clan! What the heck is wrong with them? Why do they keep attacking us? Why can’t they attack the big cities that have a lot of masters instead? Are they enjoying attacking small villages like outs?” the elder leading the group sighed.
“That’s how the Bat Clan always is. They only pick on the weak,” the old man next to the elder said.
Once they had passed through another mountain, the elders turned back to look at the forest and frowned.
“We can’t stop. We have to continue to move east. It’s too dangerous here,” one of the elders shook his head and said.
“Dad, there’s nothing in the east. It’s just a desolated desert,” the middle-aged man who was following behind the elder said.
“He’s right. There’s no prenatal qi in the desolated desert. If we move there, we won’t have any prenatal qi nor any resources. It won’t be long before our clan dies.”
“But, if we don’t move there, how are we supposed to live?”
“We have to fight the Bat Clan!”
“How? We only have this many people against a whole clan…”
After a short discussion, they finally came to an agreement to continue to move east.
Despite it being a desolated desert, they still had a better chance of surviving there.
They would have no choice but to ensure their survival before continuing with their development.
Half a year later, another group of people traveled through the same forest.
This time, however, the group was made up of more than ten thousand people.
They followed on the same path as the previous group while keeping at a steady pace. They soon reached the edge of the desolated desert.
They weren’t surprised to find another group of people already settling there, as if they were used to this scene.
Since the human race tended to escape to places where people would rarely go, it was normal that they would find others there.
The only thing the new group did not expect was that someone had reached there before them.
“We don’t have someone in the True Realm in our clan. We had no choice but to run,” the leader of the ten thousand people greeted and explained.
“I never thought that a clan as big as yours would end up escaping to such a desolated place like this…” the leader of the hundred people group also sighed. “We’re also forced to settle down here. But, for a big clan such as yours to come here…”
The leader of the smaller group was curious as to why the bigger group decided to travel towards the east.
It was normal for such a large clan to have a few people in the Virtual Realm, and in such a place that lacked prenatal qi and resources, it would be hard for them to survive.
It was taxing even for a clan that only numbered around a hundred.
If the ten thousand people clan were to settle down near the desert, they would definitely perish.
“We will only be staying here temporarily before continuing our journey east. I have a friend there, and I’ll be taking shelter with his clan.”
“But it’s a huge desolated desert from here on!”
“We don’t have any choice… For all of us to live, we must pass through this desolated desert and look for a new place to settle in.”
The leader of the smaller group gasped as he could not believe their resolution. “Are you serious?”
If ten thousand people were to go through the desert, sacrifices would have to be made.
“The desert is a remnant of the Ancient War. It’s one of the uninhabitable lands on our continent! You won’t get out alive!”
“We don’t have a choice. We don’t have anyone in the True Realm, and we’ve lost our home. With these many people, we’ll only die if we stay. Isn’t it better if we try our luck by passing through the desert?”
Seeing their determination, the leader of the smaller group decided that there was no point in arguing. And so, ten thousand people set up tents at the border of the desert.
When they weren’t hunting for food in the forest, the smaller group kept staring at the larger group.
“We used to look up to bigger clans like them, but it’s not actually a good thing, huh? Look at us, at least we can still hide in places like this, and they have no choice but to enter the desert…”
“Tyler, go and check what they’re doing,” the leader of the smaller clan ordered his grandson. “Make sure they don’t do something that’ll attract the Bat Clan, or else we’ll have to move again.”
Tyler went and came back in just a couple of minutes. “Grandpa, they’re getting ready to enter the desolated desert.”
“They’ve really lost their mind…”
At the edge of the desolated desert, the elder of the larger clan looked at the dozen young men and women in front of him.
“Looks like the barrier there is weakened. We can enter the desert through there. It seems like the desert has gotten calmer after all these years. As long as you have the will, you should be able to make it to the other side.”
“Don’t worry, leader, we will definitely find a way for our clan to survive!” The man who was leading the group of young men and women assured the leader.
“After you make it out on the other side, go to Muyang City and look for the Xu Family. They’ll send someone to bring all ten thousand of us to the other side.”
“The Xu Family? Why them?”
“Because they have the key to go to the other side of the barrier,” the elder replied as he looked towards the horizon.
