Chapter 32 - Chaos Coffin and Index to Star Souls

XuanHuan 5

Nie Tian felt a whole world of stillness at the sight of his vital spirit.
A coffin.
It was a coffin.
Nie Tian could not believe his eyes. His vital spirit was not a Weapon Spirit, a Monster Spirit, a Wood Spirit, a Dead Spirit, a Ghostly Spirit, or an Abnormal Spirit. It was a coffin.
"Damn. Are you fucking kidding me?" Nie Tian roared after a while of shock. That cry was a fine display of his anger.
It was really unacceptable to Nie Tian who went all the way and endured the pains of being ripped that he should have a coffin in return.
He would accept the Sword Spirit or a powerful Monster Spirit. But a coffin was really pushing it too far.
Anyone would break their jaws with laughter when they should hear that a vital spirit was a coffin.
It took quite a while for Nie Tian to calm down.
"Puff. Puff. Puff." Nie Tian breathed out the dirty air. But he was still wearing a long face.
"Let me check out the coffin first." Nie Tian forced himself to stay calm and feel the vital spirit.
"Chaos Coffin. Well, a good name indeed,"Nie Tian acquired some basic information of the vital spirit from his scan with the help of his mental power.
To speak the truth, although the Chaos Coffin was a coffin in nature, it was also an exquisite one.
It was transparent, refined and magnificent.
But what was the point? It was still a coffin.
"What? I can't see the rank?" Nie Tian continued to feel and grasp it. There was a trace of amazement in his face. He was unable to see it through.
The vital spirits of the Kung Fu learners could be divided into nine ranks as per the potentials.
For example, the Fiery Sword of Ba Ziliang was a Fourth level and the Phoenix of the Ninth Heaven of Mo Ruxi was a ninth level.
As far as Nie Tian was concerned, he could recognize almost every single vital spirit. But now, it was somewhat creepy as he could not figure out which rank the Chaos Coffin was at.
"I'll leave this alone," Nie Tian shook his head and did not get too preoccupied. He went on with his observation to the Chaos Coffin.
Very quickly, he put on a even more surprised look.
On the surface of the Chaos Coffin, there floated an invisible flowing space.
Nie Tian had a feeling that the level of space seemed to be separated from all the other spaces and exclusively owned by the Chaos Coffin.
"That's weird. Why do I have this feeling of profoundness. It seems it never exists at all. It should come from other space and time." Nie Tian looked appalled right now.
He had a feeling that the flowing space in the peripheral area of the Chaos Coffin was created by the coffin itself, which was very creepy.
Nie Tian really could not figure out what kind of vital spirit the Chaos Coffin was. He looked increasingly strange.
"Let me try with vital power. I doubt whether the coffin could be opened," Nie Tian worked up his vital veins to drive the vital power into the Chaos Coffin.
The coffin responded with the gurgling smog of light.
Nie Tian held his breath and his heart was in the throat.
Right at this moment, the light welled up and gave shape to a vortex.
The vortex gained its size all of a sudden and coated Nie Tian.
"Oh," exclaimed Nie Tian who felt a tremble of his soul and appeared in a confined space next moment.
Nie Tian looked around and measured the space he was in. It was square and clean-cut. His face changed suddenly, "I am in the coffin."
"That's strange. The space and time here seemed different from those outside. The time flows slowly." As Nie Tian tried to feel the space and time he was in, his look grew even more shocked.
Something occurrd[这个好像是rr?] to Nie Tian who went into raptures, exclaiming "Time flows slowly. Huh? What if ten days in the Chaos Coffin would mean one day outside? So I have ten-fold time more than anybody else."
"Chaos Coffin, I could finally spot your merits. Aha," Nie Tian could not help laughing. He almost jumped up because of the excitement as if leaving hell for heaven.
After quite some time, Nie Tian got himself together.
He had a feeling that the Chaos Coffin could do more than this.
During his stay in the coffin, Nie Tian's tenth vital vein was energized, which gave him a thought whether the Chaos Coffin had anything to do with the Star Stone.
Moments later, Nie Tian found it that inside the Chaos Coffin, there were a lot of bizarre patterns floating.
These bizarre patterns overlapped with the space perfectly and were difficult to find as covered by the space.
Nie Tian closed his eyes, and felt each inch of the space with his heart. He was appalled and then frozen.
He was a tough guy and normally, he would not have felt shocked by anything ordinary.
But what he had learned was way more creepy and out of his comprehension.
Small as the inner space of the Chaos Coffin was, Nie Tian found in surprise that there seemed to be complex sub-space inside.
Sub-space had instilled a feeling of limitlessness in Nie Tian.
To his greatest surprise, the bizarre patterns in the sub-space were just like numerous stars flashing.
"What are these patterns?" The question lingered on Nie Tian's mind.
Quite some bright stars were set against the darkness of the sub-space.
Nie Tian could not refrain from his shock. He finally acknowledged a fact that the Chaos Coffin was definitely awesome.
Nie Tian opened his eyes and his face stiffened suddenly.
There unfolded a dazzling Heavenly Book before him.
The Heavenly Book was simple but solemn. The starry light added to its pureness and solemnness.
Four words were engraved, Index to Star Souls.
"Open," Nie Tian swallowed his saliva, forced himself to calm down and encouraged himself.
The Index to Star Souls should unfold itself.
On the first page there was several words, "Index to Star Souls, a record of all star souls within the Boundary of Galaxy. "
Boundary of Galaxy?
Star souls.
"The Chaos Coffin does have something to do with the Star Stone." Nie Tian seemed to have dug out understand a hidden truth.
The inner world of the tenth vital vein was the Boundary of Galaxy. The Index to Star Souls recorded every single star soul within the boundary. They surely were closely related.
"What is the Star Soul?" Nie Tian looked though the Index without doubt.
The first page was an introduction to the Index to Star Souls which briefed Nie Tian.
The Star Souls were the crystallization of the Star Power. And those bizarre patterns in the sub-space seen by Nie Tian were exactly those of the Star Souls.
They were divided into different levels, too, from the first to the ninth.
They could only be depicted with the Star Power, not with anything else.
Nie Tian continued to checked what was on the second page.
There were these twelve patterns of the Star Souls, some being arrows, some spirit monsters and others wings. All of them were at the first level.
"Could it be..." A possibility dawned on Nie Tian who was very happy, "If I could depict the patterns of the Star Souls, I will be able to tap into the power of the Star Souls."
"But where am I supposed to engrave these patterns?" Nie Tian frowned a little. He looked up at the confined space and then exclaimed, "The Chaos Coffin."
He could engrave the patterns on the Chaos Coffin.
Upon thinking of the possibility, Nie Tian did not hesitate to find a proper pattern of the Star Souls.
"That's it." His eyes were fixated on an arrow pattern named "Red Flame".
"Maybe I can launch attacks with an arrow if I draw out the pattern," Nie Tian was very excited. He immediately took the Index to Star Souls and exited the Chaos Coffin.
Nie Tian functioned the tenth vital vein. And the Star Power made strokes on the Chaos Coffin like sharp blades.
At this point, Nie Tian found the simple as the Red Flame was at the first sight, it was indeed very complex if it was to be depicted carefully. Almost every joint had its meanings.
Besides, the Star Power had to be appropriately exerted. He could not either use too much or too little.
What was creepy, the Red Flame seemed to embody some subtle spiritual deployment. Some parts of the pattern could not be engraved until others were completed; otherwise it would be gray and void.
Nie Tian devoted his heart and soul to depicting the Star Soul.
Some time later, and after numerous attempts, he saw a complete pattern of Red Flame appearing on the Chaos Coffin.
It was so vivid and living, exactly the same with that on the Index to Star Souls.
"It's done, finally," Nie Tian relieved a long sigh, only noticing himself soaked in sweats.
"It's an exhausted work to draw the pattern of a Star Soul," Nie Tian felt a heavy head.
Lucky was it that he got the mental powerful; otherwise he would not have depicted the Red Flame.
Nie Tian would like to look through the next page, only to find that it could not be opened.
He saw a few lines on the bottom: Next page would only be seen at your fifth level of Vital Spirits.
Nie Tian frowned a little bit and smiled, "That's fine. I guess the following Star Souls will be even more complex. With my current power, I can't depict that even if I see the pattern. Why bother?"
Nie Tian was in a hurry to test the power of the Star Soul of Red Flame; so he exited the space of his underbelly.
He removed the spiritual deployment on the mouth of the cave and walked out.
He had just awakened his vital spirits and reached the first level of Vital Spirits. Nie Tian felt an enhancement by several times his power. He could confront with Ba Ziliang even without the dominating martial skill like Three Warrior Mundras.
"I'll go see Nie Santong before the Bloody Bats show up." Nothing strange was found on the Induction Deployment on the three roads, which indicated that the Bloody Bats had not appeared yet. Nie Tian thought of Nie Santong and would like to testify the power of the Red Flame on him.
