Chapter 27 - Bloody Bats

XuanHuan 7

Moyang City, the Ba's Mansion, Conference Hall.
Ba Wuli got himself seated, trembling heavily. He was a roaring lion on the prairie, but nothing would echo with its anger.
"Those darned cubs and that bloody little bastard. " Ba Wuli could not help thundering malicious curses.
At the grand hall, there was not a single one that dared to take a hard breath, make a sound or give a remark.
"Father." After a long while, Ba Ziliang opened his mouth that he had been gritting with resent, "please rest be assured. In half a month, I will defeat Nie Tian at the Kung Fu Competition of Moyang City, torturing him in front of everyone."
"Good. That's my son." Ba Wuli was somewhat delighted with Ba Ziliang having basically recovered.
The injury of Nie Tian by Ba Ziyang and the forced marriage were the attempts to crack down the Nies that were authorized by Ba Wuli.
Ba he could never expect that the loser family master of the Nies became a hard nut to crack.
The Nies's responded to the forced marriage with a powerful counter-attack; and after that, Ba Ziyang got disabled.
It was the most painful lesson that Nie Tian should defeat Ba Ziliang, a Vital Spirits at the fourth level, with the cultivation of the Vital Veins at the ninth level.
Everything was just incomprehensible.
Till now, Ba Wuli was not so sure of what had happened.
"Nie Tian, you made my son retarded three years ago and you have disabled my another son. I am not a competent father in any sense if I won't take the revenge." Ba Wuli was irritated greatly upon thinking of Nie Tian. But next moment, he put on a wry smile, "Nie Tian, you really die hard. Three years ago, the hitmen of Bloody Bats failed to finish you. But you can't possibly know that the misery three years ago was my design. Blame me for the death of your father and your clans. Death will track you down as you run counter against the Bas."
The thought never flashed to Nie Tian that nobody else but Ba Wuli was the one to blame for the misery of the Nies three years ago.
Ba Wuli was known by Moyang City as a family master; however, he was a deputy director of the 36th branch of Bloody Bats.
Bloody Bats, a notorious and vicious organization in the Blue-Cloud Empire.
Moyang City was no more than a tiny area of the Blue-Cloud Empire, hence insignificant when compared with Bloody Bats.
And Ba Wuli held a post in Bloody Bats.
He was merely a small potato with limited authority; otherwise he would have ruled Moyang City with the power of Bloody Bats.
And he was the designer rather than the executioner in the surprise attack against Nie Tian and his father in the Ripcloud Mountain.
The reason for which Ba Wuli drew the first blood was that Nie Tian was cutting an obnoxious figure three years ago.
Ba Wuli anticipated that given time, Nie Tian would fully grow up, only to occupy the living space of the Bas in Moyang City.
Besides, it caused a quake in Ba Wuli's mind when Nie Tian beat the third young master into a retarded on the occasion of the Kung Fu Competition of Moyang City.
The misery where the Nies got ambushed by a group of men in black was a returned favor.
The Nies took a toll in that incident, which tipped the balance with the Ba's.
Now, the tri-annual Kung Fu Competition of Moyang City was around the corner and Ba Wuli had the attempt to wolf down the Nies before it begun, hence Ba Ziyang would badly hurt Nie Tian and put on a forced marriage.
Too bad, the show ended up with a painful slap in the face of the Bas.
"Father, everything will be alright if Mr. Director is present. The Nies, no, the entire Moyang City will be in the bag."Abruptly uttered Ba Ziliang.
Ba Wuli's eyes brightened, "Ziliang, will Mr. Director be present by then?"
"Definitely," Ba Ziliang nodded affirmatively, "Not only his excellency but also all the Kung Fu masters of the 36th branch. That's an agreement between me and his excellency. He renders support to us in seizing Moyang City and I join the general office of the imperial city on behalf of the branch."
Ba Ziliang had been out for cultivation for a year. And it was the 36th branch of Bloody Bats that he went to.
He did show the potential and was highly recognized by the Director of the branch, which explained that he manage to enter the fourth level of Vital Spirits within a year from the first level.
"Ziliang, are you really gonna join the general department of Bloody Bats?" Ba Wuli 's face was grave.
He himself was a member of Bloody Bats and he certainly knew the cruelty of that environment.
Once Ba Ziliang entered that general department, he might not be able to return to Moyang City for this whole life.
"Father, I've already made up my mind." Ba Ziliang nodded his head very hard.
"Fine," Ba Wuli was a little mind-absent, "since you have made up your mind, I'll respect your decision as your father."
Ba Ziliang nodded and said, as if something occurred to him, "Father, the outposts of the Bloody Bats will be here these days. I hope it won't trouble you much to entertain them. And I will be practicing in seclusion then. I have to make it to the fifth level of vital spirits within the fifteen days."
"Alright. Stay focused on your practice. I will entertain the Bloody Bats properly. " Ba Wuli promised.
Ba Ziliang wasted no more time and left quickly.
The rest of the crowd was dismissed, leaving Ba Wuli alone at the grand hall.
There was complexity in the face of Ba Wuli.
"Ziliang, don't hate your father for being too harsh. You have to join the general department of Bloody Bats." Ba Wuli said to himself.
It might be a bigger world to join the general department of Bloody Bats. However, the cruelty was more than one could imagine.
Bloody Bats was, at nature, an organization of killers, and the branches sparsely distributed were agencies that scout young and talented kids.
These kids, upon recommendation of the branches, were enlisted in the general department for the most cruel and inhuman killer training.
One out of a hundred might be able to complete that training.
In another word, that Ba Ziliang joined the general department of Bloody Bats would mean a survival rate of less than a hundredth.
The fact was only known by Ba Wuli, with no exception to Ba Ziliang.
Ba Wuli was literally watching his son diving in that sea of fire.
Admittedly, the father was a heartless piece of garbage.
There flashed a trace of maliciousness in his eyes, "The Nie's family, the Mo's family, embrace your death when the Bloody Bats come."
But the Bas was not aware that the outposts of Bloody Bats could not make it to Moyang City, for they had already been killed by Nie Tian.
Those three men in black who got killed by Nie Tian in the daytime was exactly the outposts of Bloody Bats.
Meanwhile, stories happened in the Magistrate's Mansion.
"Family Master Nie, I hereby entrust you to awaken the vital spirit of Ruxi. I'll be so in debt to you if you can do that for me." Mo Tai talked to Nie Tian as he led the way to the inner yard.
"Mr. Magistrate, please rest be assured. Now that I've promised to awaken her vital spirit, I won't go back to my word." Nie Tian was wearing a faint smile.
Nie Tian was more than clear of the detonation in the words of Mo Tai.
The successful awakening of Mo Ruxi's vital spirit would earn Nie Tian a better bargaining position. While a failed one would constitute an excuse under which Mo Tai vented his anger and resent to the Nies.
"Dad, I have confidence in Nie Tian and he will be able to awaken the vital spirit for me." Mo Ruxi interrupted, with a determined look.
Nie Tian smiled while Mo Tai responded with nothing.
Mo Tai would admit that Nie Tian did give an account of himself, which was beyond his expectation. But the awakening of the vital spirit was not an easy task; besides, Mo Ruxi's vital spirit had been asleep in the past two and a half years, owing to certain reason unknown to Mo Tai.
Could Nie Tian, a Vital Veins at the ninth level, awaken Mo Ruxi's vital spirit?
Mo Tai could not tell for sure.
But due to vague understanding of Nie Tian, Mo Tai would allow him to give it a shot.
Moments later, the three people arrived at the inner yard of the Magistrate's Mansion.
Nie Tian stopped and said, "Alright, Mr. Magistrate. Why don't you keep guard on the yard. The awakening of Mo Ruxi's vital spirit might take quite some time when I'd rather not be interrupted, by anyone."
Mo Ruxi stared at Nie Tian. That was not a happy face.
It was Magistrate's Mansion after all, and Nie Tian should treat him like a servant.
"Dad, please do as he said. Keep guard outside for me." Mo Ruxi took no offense and she even laughed.
"Fine." Mo Ruxi finally nodded his head as he looked his daughter in the eyes.
Nie Tian did not bother to be bound by rules. He just went into the inner yard with Mo Ruxi, leaving Mo Tai on guard.
Upon entering the inner yard, Nie Tian performed a Mudra quickly. The cluster of crystallized vital power was flowing above the five fingers and then transforming into a streak of light that blocked the gate of inner yard.
"Nie Tian, what are you planning?" Mo Ruxi was very curious.
"To avoid any unnecessary disturbance." Nie Tian smiled faintly.
"The spiritual deployment," Mo Tai, keeping guard outside the yard, was appalled to see the floating light above the gate, and it took quite a while before he got himself together, "how could the kid possibly do that?"
Nie Tian was making a spiritual deployment to cut off the inner yard from the interruption of Mo Tai or anyone else.
He had to attach sufficient significance to the extremely powerful vital spirit of Mo Ruxi.
"What we do now, Nie Tian?" Mo Ruxi walked to the middle of the inner yard, blushing and looking thrilled.
She found herself in tremendous excitement as her vital spirit might be likely to be awakened despite the fact that it had been asleep for the past two and a half years.
"Keep quiet first." Nie Tian put on a grave face.
Nie Tian walked over, measured Mo Ruxi from head to toe, selected a few spots around her feet and raised his head for the round moon hanging up in the sky, murmuring, "Lunar Spirit Deployment".
"What did you say?" Mo Ruxi tried to recognize his words.
"Nothing." Nie Tian smiled faintly.
It was something of great difficulty to awaken Mo Ruxi's unparalleled vital spirits at the ninth level, Phoenix in the Ninth Heaven.
Nie Tian was going to use the spirit core of the Queen of Icy Snakes as the primer and the Lunar Spirit Deployment to awaken the Phoenix in the Ninth Heaven.
"Mo Ruxi, I am about to awaken your vital spirit, but you have to follow what I said, completely. Agreed?" Nie Tian looked somewhat embarrassed.
"Sure." Mo Ruxi nodded her head hard and did not perceive anything wrong.
Nie Tian then cast strange eyes to Mo Ruxi and ordered seriously, "Now, take off your clothes."
"Sure." Mo Ruxi answered, but immediately she realized something was not right. Her beautiful eyes dilated as she screamed, "What?"
