Chapter 3 – The angel inside of a dream
Going back a week.
“Next Friday, because my sister-in-law Mary is coming, don’t make plans after school.” (Tatsuya’s Mom)
During dinner, Tatsuya’s mom said such a thing.
Sister-in-law Mary was Tatsuya’s father’s brother’s wife. To put it simply, she was Tatsuya’s aunt.
Incidentally, although Tatsuya’s mother was older, she was called ‘sister-in-law’. Whether or not this was appropriate as a way to call a fellow wife, Tatsuya didn’t know. He also didn’t care. At any rate, this was normal.
“Mary-nee-chan? Eh? For the first time in how many years she’s coming to Japan?” (Tatsuya)
“Is Alicichan also coming? And Uncle Kōichi?” (Saori)
Tatsuya and Saori asked their mother in return respectively.
Alicia was Mary’s daughter, Tatsuya and other’s cousin. Kōichi was Tatsuya and other’s father’s brother.
By the way, as for why Kōichi was ‘Uncle’ despite Mary being ‘Nee-chan’, Tatsuya and others also didn’t understand it well.
Be the olden days as it may, although she wouldn’t even be the age for ‘Nee-chan’ currently……for some reason or another, it was difficult to call her Aunt Mary. The older brother and younger sister had missed the chance to correct it.
“For the first time in 10 years. Neither Alicichan nor Kōichi-nii-san are coming this time.” (Tatsuya’s Mom)
Although the older brother and younger sister thought they could meet their uncle and others after a long time, they were informed it was just their aunt, a little……no, Saori was quite dispirited.
“Because she has a little important story, I want you to come home quickly.” (Tatsuya’s Mom)
The Endou family didn’t interfere with the schedules of their children much, but there were things like this rarely.
As it was only when there was something truly important, the enforcement was quite strong.
Once, Tatsuya’s long home room prolonged, and when he was late in returning home there was a phone call to the school.
“I understand. How about saturday?” (Tatsuya)
“As sister-in-law Mary also has things to do, it’s fine to freely make plans.” (Tatsuya’s mother)
With the children also knowing it, they obediently accepted the arrangement.
After that, dinner was piled up with the topic of uncle and others.
By the way, the father wasn’t together with them and was working overtime. Although it appeared he was attending next week, what the persistence in ‘talking at that time’ was for, older brother and younger sister, Tatsuya and others, weren’t informed of anything in the end.
That night, Tatsuya had a dream.
It was a dream about playing inside the forest together with Alicia, his cousin, and Saori, his younger sister.
It seemed to be something of a lucid dream.
I understood this was a dream, and that I was playing as a child.
And then, the incident happened.
Huge.
A really huge wild boar appeared in front of the children.
Though it was one of my many memories of when I was a child, I thought it was too big, but it was the same wild boar in my memory.
The beast we encountered suddenly, it attacked the young children.
I instantly thrust Alicia and Saori away, and jumped in the opposing direction.
Jumping was good, but after all, it was the movements of a child.
Without avoiding the wild boar’s charge, the young me was damaged on his foot.
A sharp pain ran up my leg.
I recalled it as far as the pain of that time, despite it being a dream.
I thought the bone may have broken.
It was so painful.
But, because I didn’t remember attaching a cast, I guess it didn’t break.
Although the pain was painful, after that was the worst.
Of all things, the wild boar decided that Saori and Alicia were targets.
I provoked it with ‘Come over here!’ desperately.
I couldn’t walk due to my leg being painful, so I couldn’t do anything but that.
Ignoring the child’s provocation, the wild boar rushed at the 2 girls……and was bisected into two equal parts.
The one who bisected it, it was my dad’s brother……Uncle Kōichi, and he was grasping a large sword.
Mary-nee-chan, who was together with him, ran over to the injured me, and
“Pain pain, fly awayyy.” (Mary)
She put a good luck charm on me.¹
It glittered *sparkle sparkle*, it was beautiful.
I was interested, and forgot about the pain completely because of that.
Uncle Kōichi-san who did away with the fiendish wild boar and bisected it into two equal parts with one blow, he became our hero.
Until then, we were afraid of either his grim appearance or that he was our father’s brother, but we, older brother and younger sister, became emotionally attached to him instantly.
Especially Saori, my younger sister, she had said ‘I’m going to marry Uncleee’.
Even now, it seemed she preferred a macho man rather than a thin handsome person.
……come to think of it, I hadn’t seen her boyfriend’s face yet, but I guessed it was probably macho.
Well, it’s been a long time since I saw this dream.
After that, it was a set meal where we ate a wild boar stew.
I, a little while ago,
“The size of the wild boar was too big!” (Tatsuya)
“Things like bisecting it in one blow, it’s over beautifying it!” (Tatsuya)
“It really hurt to jump among other things, I was slack!” (Tatsuya)
had laughed at it.
But……
There were succubi in this world. There were ogres. There were vampires.
There were existences which held skills there were unimaginable in common sense. I was even able to see statuses.
Perhaps, they existed?
Both the super huge wild boar, the ability to be able to bisect that, and even the ability to cure a broken leg……

The continuing to call your aunt elder sister and missing the chance to correct it, it is a still-happening real experience of the author.
Calling her ‘aunt’ after all this time has an uncomfortable feeling……
