The moment the doors to the elevator opened, Xia Wan walked out of it.
"A Miao? Why are you… Why are you here?"
A Miao's mood brightened considerably after seeing the shock on Xia Wan's face. "Why wouldn't I be here? I have cleaned up. Did you come here to look for me?"
"I… Haha! That's right!" Xia Wan put on an unnatural smile. "Oh, this reminds me. Did you see Youran?"
"Nope!" A Miao feigned astonishment. "Did he come here as well?"
Xia Wan did not bother replying and walked quickly toward the room. She pushed the door open and what greeted her was the sight of a naked Youran laying over Xia Mei and trying to pull her skirt. Panicked, Xia Wan rushed over to them. "Youran, wake up. She is Xia Mei. You can't touch her! Stop!"
"Xia… Xia Mei…" Bai Youran's eyes were blazing red but when he heard Xia Wan's voice, he appeared to have become a little sober.
Xia Wan pushed him aside and pulled Xia Mei to her. She frantically fixed Xia Mei's skirt. Xia Mei had completely lost all control over herself and was incessantly rubbing herself against Xia Wan's arm.
"Oh dear! What is she doing?" A Miao cried as she entered the room leisurely.
"Shut up!" Xia Wan shot her a glare. She pulled the blanket off the bed and covered Bai Youran with it. "Hurry up and get some ice cubes from the fridge."
"Oh." A Miao walked over to the fridge next to her and took out the entire icebox. She then emptied the box all over Bai Youran.
"What are you doing?" Her actions startled Xia Wan. "You'll injure him!"
"He's not crying out in pain!" A Miao replied innocently. She then poured out the rest of the ice cubes on Xia Mei's face. "But what's wrong with them?"
Xia Wan was infuriated. She did not know why things would turn out this way. Why would Xia Mei, who had already left, appear here? Her plan was to fill the entire bathroom with strong aphrodisiac so that A Miao would immediately be affected the moment she entered the room. She would then send Youran over.
When the two of them met in the room, they would naturally sleep with each other. Xia Wan would show up and become witness to this so that the Bai family would not be able to reject this marriage. Moreover, Bai Youran's hatred for A Miao would deepen even more, thinking that A Miao had plotted against him. Then, Xia Wan would continue to be his cherished sweetheart.
But what sort of situation was this? Why would Xia Mei ended up getting involved in this scheme...?
"How would I know?" Xia Wan replied impatiently. When she saw A Miao take out her phone, she asked, "What are you doing?"
"I'm calling the ambulance. They look like they're in terrible distress."
Xia Wan ripped the phone out of A Miao's hand. "No! Did you want everyone to find out?"
"Then, are we going to leave them like this?" A Miao retorted. "They look like they've been drugged!"
"Since you know that, you should also know that you shouldn't cause any more trouble. Watch over them. I'll go out and make a call."
The two people on the ground were still writhing. Through some unknown sources, Xia Wan managed to get someone to send over two bottles of antidote. However, unlike how A Miao had regained sobriety immediately after getting the injection, Bai Youran and Xia Mei fell unconscious after consuming the antidote.
Xia Wan made A Miao book another room and separated them. Only then did she return A Miao's phone to her and had her sit down for a talk.
"I hope no one else knows about this incident today." Xia Wan was smiling but there was a hint of warning in her tone.
A Miao stared at her. This woman had once again renewed A Miao's impression of her. Not only did Xia Wan manage to get her hands on aphrodisiac, but she was also able to get someone to send over the antidote so quickly.
"Of course. It's not like this is anything good to talk about." Naturally, A Miao played along. "But… You're really something!"
Xia Wan knew what A Miao was getting at. There was no way she could feign innocence any longer at this point. "This is an accident. I just happen to know some friends. Those playboys would all have toys like these."
"An accident?" A Miao chuckled. "I'm sure this accident is very disappointing to you."
Xia Wan ground her teeth. She did not know just how much A Miao guessed about her plan today but she was also aware that as long as she did not admit to it, there was nothing A Miao could do about her. A Miao also knew that even if Xia Wan's target was her, she could not do anything about Xia Wan.
She guessed that Xia Wan's only concern was how to keep the truth away from Bai Youran and Xia Mei.
"I'll keep this a secret." A Miao shook her phone. "But I hope there won't be a repeat of this incident in the future!"
"What do you mean?" Xia Wan's expression changed. "Give me your phone."
A Miao laughed out loudly. "Don't be silly. Do you think this obsolete, locally-made phone has a camera function?"
"I don't believe you! Give it to me!" Xia Wan extended her hand, intending to grab the phone.
"The boundless horizon is my love, flowers are in blossom at the foot of the green mountain…" An ear-piercing ringtone resounded in the room. A Miao took one glance at the number calling and immediately rejected the call.
"It's up to you whether you believe me or not. I'm leaving."
Xia Wan tugged at her, stopping her from leaving. "You can't go. You must go home with me."
