Her quick-witted reaction made it hard for Wandong to fight back. However, he didn't intend to do that, either. Smiling grimly, he changed his tactics on Duan Lengyan's terms and said to Wang Tianbiao, "She is right, I'm not entitled to dictate to anyone here. As a mere commoner, I dare not no cause offences to a highly-ranked official like you. Then please stand up as Miss Three bade."
"I…" Wang Tianbiao stumbled on his words, not knowing what to do. He looked up at Wandong, only to see the latter staring at him in an extremely cold manner, which sent a wave of quivers through his body. He dared not act on that and keep on kneeling in a more respectful manner.
On seeing his embarrassing reaction, Duan Lengyan knitted her eyebrows and said, "Director Wang, being a Qingyun official, you are supposed to care for your image. Don't you find it terribly awkward to kneel in full view? Hurry up and rise!"
