Chapter 166: Something's wrong
Zhang Xiao Qiang led people and carefully searched both mountains once, killing off a few wandering zombies that were either customers or staff of the spa, then drove an off-road vehicle around the spa, as long as it was a place where people had resided before, Zhang Xiao Qiang sent people to hunt and search for zombies.
They cleared the perimeter of 5km around the spa to the point where not one zombie stood. Zhang Xiao Qiang then led brought people with him to the mineral company's preparation site and raided everything, taking all the construction materials and engineering vehicles. Shangguan Qiao Yun had been with him for many missions and had revealed her sudden effectiveness in marksmanship for a couple of times, so she was able to raise her chin while amongst other men, who would never dare to look at her covetously. The depressing thing was aside from the men not daring to look at her, Zhang Xiao Qiang did not seem to want to look at her, especially after the incident where she had killed a few S-type Zombies, he became more distant and she felt as though there was a thick wall between the two of them.
In the night before, a few of the Combat Team members encountered an extremely fast moving zombie, causing them to be stunned, as though they had seen a ghost to which they threw their weapons and ran away. Zhang Xiao Qiang was also nervous and shocked when he saw the zombie, but quickly took out something that resembled a fish net. When she saw the zombie rushed towards Zhang Xiao Qiang at a speed that left afterimages, her heart immediately became anxious when the rifle in her hand automatically raised up and a shot was unleashed through the zombie's chest, causing it to stop for a moment. The following shot went through its eye and seeing the zombie fall and before she could even relax for a moment, the rifle in her hand unleashed another 6 shots, every shot straight into the zombie's head. What shocked her was her hand actually threw the rifle down as it reached out for the handgun at her holster as she ran forward to the zombie and sending all the bullets into the zombie's brain before she recovered control over her body, and was dumbstruck all the way until Zhang Xiao Qiang came forward with a sword and beheaded it.
She was afraid, completely in the dark of the situation of her own body. She wanted to find Zhang Xiao Qiang for a bit of consolation. By the time she finished killing the zombie and wanted to tell Zhang Xiao Qiang about it, his expression was even more alarmed than hers, the look in his eyes looked as though he wanted to hide from her. His leg moved by itself as he shifted away from her, making her even more afraid until Zhang Xiao Qiang spoke up and said that a family member of hers in Heaven must be protecting and had blessed her.
She only needed a reason, a consolation. When she heard Zhang Xiao Qiang's absurd reasoning, she took it. She firmly believed that it was her mother that was protecting her, but why was Zhang Xiao Qiang so afraid of me? Am I still capable of love? Who would have thought that being outstanding would chase men away too?
She did not know that Zhang Xiao Qiang was also at a loss, he had a love and fear entanglement towards Shangguan Qiao Yun, he loved her strange marksmanship but afraid of the something possessing her. While searching in a small warehouse and thinking that it was an easy task, an S2 actually appeared. All the men who had seen an S2 before immediately turn tail and ran. Zhang Xiao Qiang immediately brandished out his secret weapon used to deal against an S2 while Wang Le used a fishing net made out of motorbike brake wires. Right when Wang Le was about to expand out the net against the S2 that was approaching, Shangguan Qiao Yun unleashed her marksmanship. Unlike the previous time, the rifle in her hand unleashed continuous shots. Even after the S2 had fallen, Shangguan Qiao Yun never stopped. Zhang Xiao Qiang noticed that the Shangguan Qiao Yun that was firing was different, her eyes had no emotions at all. He will never forget the scene where she threw her rifle down and unholstered her pistol and fired at the S2 while approaching it. That graceful bearing was something he would never forget, her speed was perfect, as though she was taking a stroll leisurely at the lake in the villa.
Her expression remained calm and collected as she raised the handgun in her hand, the pair of eyes that resembled beautiful gemstones had no focal length, the muzzle pointed at the S2 but her eyes never looked at it. Her appearance remained peaceful and graceful as she raised the M1911A1 pistol as though she was holding onto a glass of wine in the evening, the beauty in it made everyone watching feel that what she was doing was completely unrelated to killing. The black pistol in her hand spewed out with dark red flames as the pistol's body continued to jump. The S2 on the floor started to reveal its last struggle, its two hands continuously trying to force itself up, the two legs continuously trying to stand up. Seeing the S2 struggling beneath her feet, Shangguan Qiao Yun did not panic at all. Her eyebrows did not even twitch as she unclipped the entire pistol into the zombie's head calmly.
All of the men, including Zhang Xiao Qiang, were scared out of their wits. Shangguan Qiao Yun's performance from start to the end was…..how do I say it? It was graceful, yes, graceful, like a beautiful red-crowned Crane striding with its graceful body in a brook foraging for food. What made people fear it was that the disgusting zombie was the little fish in her mouth. In the end, Shangguan Qiao Yun regained her senses as she looked at her own hand in shock, as though she was bewildered by her own actions. Her pupils were once again filled with the color of emotions, just that these emotions were of fear and panic. Zhang Xiao Qiang went forward and beheaded the S2, then looked at the stunned Shangguan Qiao Yun. The coldness in his heart became denser, he was a 100% sure that Shangguan Qiao Yun had something wrong with her, but what was it? He broke out in a cold sweat, and no longer dared to think about it.
