Good acting skills were hard to come by, but true emotions were even harder to come by.
When director Li clapped ‘cut’, he’d already decided who he wanted to cast.
Taking advantage of Mu Cheng trending after winning the best male lead award, the make up photos were quickly released.
Mu Cheng had recently been leaning towards being more backstage.
His studio had signed on a few new people, so apart from the main and secondary leads, nearly everyone else were new actors from his studio.
The male and female leads all had national recognition and were famous, so the whole cast’s looks were top notch.
But even then, after Tang Xiao changed into her costume, everyone still had their breaths taken away.
She wore a dark navy brocade gown with small embroidered white plum blossoms.
Her long hair was tied up in a high bun, with a long golden hairpin holding the bun together.
Long strings of pearls dangled from the hairpin and swayed as she moved in her hair.
Her face was beautiful, and with makeup, even more so.
Her eyes were the most eye catching, they were like a languid kitten’s eyes.
Beautiful, and it was an intimidating beauty.
Tang Xiao had been in many historical dramas, but she’d never had a role that just fit her so perfectly before.
To say she was so enchanting, she’d steal your soul, wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

Otherwise, she’d be very pitiful looking right now.
When she picked up the phone, its smashed screen was so ugly she couldn’t look at it properly.
“Don’t touch it. You can just get a new screen.” Mu Cheng pressed down on her finger that wanted to touch it.
“My heart hurts, Night Changan hasn’t even paid me yet and my phone’s already dead.”
“I’ll help you repair it.” Mu Jin sighed.
She then grabbed a tissue to wrap the phone up and put it in her bag. “Tang Xiao, you really can’t be beautiful for more than three seconds, something always breaks the illusion!”
Mu Cheng helped fix her dress.
Suddenly, he leaned in against her ear and whispered, “So beautiful, I’m in love.”
This was even better than someone just calling her beautiful, or saying that they’ll go with whatever she wanted, or saying they’ll buy her anything.
Mu Cheng said he was … in … love.
“Oh oh oh!”
“F***! Can’t be beautiful for more than three seconds, and you’re also a r*tard!” Mu Jin took another stab at her.
After the makeup photos were released online, weibo exploded again.
Two nationally recognised best actors/actresses alongside Mu Cheng were enough of a topic to talk about.
But now there was the breathtakingly beautiful Tang Xiao, Night Changan immediately shot up to the trending headlines.
