Qiao Yijing was very secretive about his film so he made sure there weren’t any outsiders on set at all times.
This meant that as long as Tang Xiao wanted, she could scream out “I want to take advantage and eat this bowl of hot poop”, there’d be no reporters or cameras on her.
The second day, Tang Xiao was to film her scene where the male lead and the second female lead meet.
The scene was set in a residence’s garden as Tang Xiao sat in her wheelchair, wheeling herself around as Qiao Yijing spoke to the other cast about the scene.
Tang Xiao was drifting in her wheelchair so as she drifted along the corner, she was as cocky as cocky could be.
Above her head appeared, “My beloved subjects, it’s been hard on you. This emperor will personally lead the army to war.”
Qiao Yijing looked at her like he was looking at a r*tard.
In the first scene when the two people meet, Qiao Yijing’s expectations of Tang Xiao were very low, all she had to do was not have dead fish eyes.
Tang Xiao: …..
Tang Xiao’s character was called ‘Song Anran’ and it was the first time that she’d see the ‘Chai Tianhan’ that Mu Cheng was acting out.
When Song Anran turns her head back, in that split moment, she slightly smiles at the person behind her.
This slightly smile would stay imprinted in the male lead’s mind.
It was also this slight smile that made Qiao Yijing very speechless.
“Tang Xiao, if I was Mu Cheng and saw how lovestruck you were smiling, I’d backhand you to the sky.”
Tang Xiao: …..
Mu Cheng: …..
“Tang Xiao, don’t be so expressionless, do you think you’re playing a girl with cerebral palsy? At least if they have cerebral palsy, they have a brain. Where’s yours?”
Tang Xiao: …..
“Tang Xiao, you’re really great. Seeing you makes me have no hope for life. Can you honestly tell me, are you just sent here by Chief Ning to mess with me?”
Tang Xiao: …..
She was very deeply questioning whether or not Qiao Yijing was a director, and in fact, a comedy sketch artist.
After a few more times, Qiao Yijing was done.
“Mu Cheng, give her an example of turning back and giving a slight smile?”
Mu Cheng spread out his hands and walked forward with his back facing Tang Xiao.
Before she’d prepared herself, he slightly turned back to look at her and revealed a slight smile.
Tang Xiao felt like the softest place in her heart had been touched.
Mu Cheng’s eyes seemed to contained a pool of light water, she was able to see herself reflected in them.
He’d only slightly turned around to face her and she’s already felt like he’d touched her inner heart.
Mu Cheng took back his gaze and rubbed her head, “Just remember how you look like when you space out while looking at me.”
Tang Xiao asked very seriously, “What do I look like when I space out?”
Mu Cheng slightly froze, “Think for yourself.”
He actually wanted to say -- like when your eyes seem to contain all the stars in the world.
Tang Xiao collected herself and started to act out the scene again.
She finally passed.
Tang Xiao felt like she was about to become cross eyed already.
Qiao Yijing just liked to film her eyes.
In a single scene, she’d take multiple shots.
Her acting skill at most, was average.
She couldn’t compare to the very best but there were a lot of people who were worse than her.
But in Qiao Yijing’s eyes, this wasn’t the best that Tang Xiao could offer.
Qiao Yijing looked at the scene with Tang Xiao’s close up and slightly smiled.
He spoke to Mu Cheng, “Tang Xiao’s eyes are very clean, this is where Su Bai can’t even compare.”
Mu Cheng held a cup of coffee and slowly sipped it, looking at a certain person in a wheelchair who wasn’t too far away.
“I thought you weren’t happy with her. You’ve never been so ferocious to anyone before.”
“She could clearly give 100% but she chooses to only give 30%. Chief Ning dotes on her too much and she doesn’t have high hopes for herself which is what’s resulted in her currently very average condition.”
“As long as she’s happy.”
After filming her own scenes, it was already afternoon.
Mu Cheng still had to continue so Tang Xiao slipped out to continue listening to Xiao Lin’s gossip.
Yesterday at dawn, when Tang Xiao knocked at his door, Chief Ning looked at her very badly before getting a new room for her.
He then sent over her own things to her new room.
The only thing that Tang Xiao wasn’t satisfied about was that the new room was very close to director Qiao’s.
She cleaned up the new room as Xiao Lin sat on the sofa eating congee.
Tang Xiao swept the room as she kept trying to figure out what happened in those 36 hours between Chief Ning and Xiao Lin.
“Xiao Lin!” Tang Xiao’s eyes were excited.
Xiao Lin was so scared she shuddered, “What do you want?”
“Quickly, tell me about you and Chief Ning’s affair. If you don’t tell me, I’ll tell the press. I feel like that gossip would be worth a lot of money.”
Xiao Lin bit down, shaking her head hard.
“Then, what if I exchange gossip with you? Do you know about when Chief Ning was about to be sponsored?”
That gossip, was enough for her to eat for a whole lifetime.
“It’s that time from the advertising company …”
Xiao Lin didn’t seem shocked as she looked at her calmly, slowly speaking, “I know the advertising company person you speak of. That’s my mom.”
“Pfft ….”
The way that Tang Xiao was looking at Xiao Lin was strange.
Her mind quickly tried to connect the dots for what happened today, and when it made a huge net, she jumped in shock.
Xiao Lin’s mom wanted to sponsor Chief Ning, Xiao Lin and Chief Ning slept together.
F****, what kind of melodramatic drama is this, some kind of end of year incest drama?
Knowing that she knew too much and would eventually get killed, she sighed.
“I didn’t think …. that you’d play this hard, so stimulating.”
Xiao Lin jumped up and started hitting her with a pillow, “Where are you thinking to!! It’s not what you think!”
Tang Xiao’s eyes glittered as she waited for the second half, “I didn’t even go see Mu Cheng, just for the sake of this gossip.”
“It’s not actually anything. Two years ago, I drugged Chief Ning and he nearly got someone to drown me in a swimming pool. Mom, what a freaking feral. It’s lucky that he didn’t try drowning me in the bathtub this time.”
Once Xiao Lin spoke about this, she was so mad that she was gritting her teeth, biting out every single word.
Hearing ‘drugged’, Tang Xiao’s eyes lit up even more.
