The two glided until the moon reached its peak in the sky . After that, they stopped for a rest before beginning their journey once again .
It was dawn as the two arrived at the great broad river .
The mist spread toward the horizon as the river was neither calm nor fast . It resembled a broad pond as it lustered; its mist was incredibly dense .
The bank on the opposite could vaguely be seen, well-concealed amid the morning mist .
The two would not be able to glide across this lake no matter how skilled their Light-body Techniques were . Their only option was to find a boat .
Chu Li frowned and looked around before he looked at the upstream .
“What’s wrong?” Li Ruolan realized that his expression looked strange . “Could it be that the Hai Cang Mountain hasn’t given up yet?”
Chu Li nodded slowly . “It looks like we’ve underestimated them!”
“Are they still trying to kill us?” Li Ruolan frowned .
She looked at the direction at which Chu Li was staring to no avail . It was nothing but white mist, not a single sign of presence to be detected at all .
Chu Li said, “They’re under the water . ”
Then we can’t take the boats anymore . ” Li Ruolan frowned . “I’m not good fighting in the water, you too right?”
Chu Li shook his head . “It’s fine . They can’t get near us… Let’s go . There’s a boat coming, let’s board it . ”
The moment they finished chatting, they glided toward the small boat far away at a high speed .
The boatman was a male youngster and he was extremely fit . His arms were fully exposed, and his muscles seemed like they were made from steel .
He looked like an average joe and the way he pedaled looked extremely relaxing . Yet, the speed of the small boat was as quick as a fish swimming in the water .
It took minimal effort before the small boat approached them .
The young boatman stopped . “Are you two trying to cross the river?”
“We’ll pay, take us across the river . ” Chu Li said .
Li Ruolan frowned as he stared at the young boatman . She could tell that he knew martial arts . He should be on the level of the perfected innate masters .
Chu Li said, “Let’s go, senior sister . ”
“This man…” Li Ruolan turned her head as she looked at Chu Li .
Chu Li smiled . “It’s fine . ”
“Okay…” Li Ruolan knew just from his gaze that he had already noticed that something was off about this boatman .
The two glided onto the small boat without rocking it at all .
The youngster rowed the small boat, and he soon left the bank . He was headed straight to the center of the river .
“You’re a disciple of the Hai Cang Mountain, right?” Chu Li sat at the front of the boat and asked lazily, “Is Hai Cang Mountain still trying to pursue us?”
“What are you saying?” The young boatman was stunned as he looked at Chu Li in confusion .
Chu Li shook his head . “We people in the light don’t hide messages in our words . Don’t blame me for not showing any mercy if Hai Cang Mountain keeps chasing after us . ”
“I really don’t understand what you’re trying to say . ” The young boatman shook his head . His actions became quicker, and they were soon a hundred meters away from the bank .
They were able to head back to the bank easily with their Light-body Techniques at this distance . Hence, the boatman kept increasing his speed as he tried to send them to the center of the river before he revealed himself .
Chu Li sighed and shook his head . “You guys are unreasonable!”
He shut his eyes and did not speak any further .

Four middle-aged men in black fighting attires in the river swam towards the boat, resembling a bunch of fish .

The water’s resistance was miraculously high; far stronger than he anticipated . The cruel blade energy was instantly turned into a child’s play the instant it entered into the water . It was no longer lethal and could be easily deflected .
He cursed in his heart before saying with a deep tone . “Senior sister, be careful!”
Now that he knew just how obstructive the water was, he knew that the bullets would not travel far even if they had entered the water . However, he believed that the resistance towards his blade energy would be much lower since the blade energy was invisible . After all, the blade energy was incredibly thin . He did not think much of it since it should not lose much of its power in the water .
However, he did not anticipate that the water’s resistance would increase multiple folds when the blade energy’s speed was too quick . It was not because of the thickness of the blade energy . Hence, the blade energy lost its lethality since its speed was reduced significantly .

Chu Li shook his head . “These people are trying to sink the ship!”
He used his inner energy to push the small boat that traveled across the river like an arrow . Its speed was much faster than before .

Chu Li was able to tell her fear of the water and held her by her waist as he brought her to a wooden plank . Then, he pushed the wooden plank away as if it was a boat itself .
“Bam!” There was a deep thud as two people revealed themselves out from the water .
They were two Elders in black attires . Their eyes were the only thing that could be seen as they charged in towards Chu Li and Li Ruolan .

Chu Li was able to tell that one of them was the Thin Elder he met earlier from his revealed eyes . The other was a fat, muscular Elder .

Chu Li immediately swung his sword as he tried to deflect this blade light . However, he was stunned momentarily, realizing that the longsword’s strength far exceeded his anticipation .
He could not dispel it in that instant and his abdomen was pierced through by the Thin Elder .
