He finally moved his gaze away from the laptop screen toward her . “Are you asking me to eat you?”
Lu Zhaoyang quickly retracted her hand . It was only meant to be a prank to tease him .
“I’m heading inside . ” She picked up the empty platter and walked briskly into the house .
Huo Yunting listened to her rushed footsteps and felt a little disheartened .
Since he could not find it in himself to let her go, he had allowed her to remain by his side despite her role in his mother’s death .

Back in the living room, Lu Zhaoyang felt lost and uncertain about her relationship with Huo Yunting .
She stopped in front of a pot of Lily of the Valley and played around with the tiny white flowers . However, because of her bad mood, she was not too gentle with them .
“Ma’am, what are you doing?”
“I…” Lu Zhaoyang looked down and noticed the white petals scattered at her feet . The plant had no more flowers left .
“I want some flowers to soak my feet . ” She bent down and started picking the flowers up .
“You can just ask us to do things like these . ”
