Chapter 96 – The Authority of Life Exterminators (1)
"J-ji Fengyan, w-what do you want to do?" Lei Xu stuttered as his entire body continued to tremble. Seeing Ji Fengyan walk over to stand in front of him almost caused his heart to explode from fear.
Ji Fengyan smiled as she looked at Lei Xu, "Raising my neck kind of really makes me tired."
Lei Xu's entire body shook. Almost in an instant, he knelt with a thump sound in front of her, his attitude completely different from the aggressiveness from before.
"Now, I don't have to be so tired," she beamed, looking down at Lei Xu. That tone almost sounded like that of a normal half-grown child.
Only, nobody would dare to treat her like a child in this bloody place.
"F-fengyan… I was wrong. Uncle Lei, really knows his mistakes. How about… you spare me just this once?" Lei Xu begged, stretching out his hand.
Had he known early on that Ji Fengyan was actually such a great death god, then even if he was a hundred time more courageous, he still wouldn't have dared to mess with her.
She was a lunatic through and through, but just hadn't made a move. Once she acted, then she would absolutely slaughter everything in her way!
Unafraid of the heavens or the earth, she essentially had no scruples and was even more ruthless than Lei Xu!
Ji Fengyan watched as Lei Xu hugged her calf and begged unceasingly. Suddenly, she reached out and patted Lei Xu's sweaty face. "Sir Lei, this isn't your first time. I've given you more than enough opportunities."
Lei Xu's face turned even grimmer, his entire body shuddering even more fiercely.
"No, no, no, I guarantee that this will absolutely be the last time. I won't dare, I won't dare again. This Ji City is yours, forever yours. You a-and Min'er's engagement will also be cancelled! It's Min'er who isn't fit for you! He doesn't have the qualifications to be with you!" To keep his life, Lei Xu already didn't care about anything else.
He could feel it. This time, Ji Fengyan really did have killing intent towards him.
"This Ji City was originally mine," she said with a smile. "The only problem was whether I wanted it or not."
"For sure, for sure, for sure." Lei Xu repeatedly nodded his head.
Those family leaders behind him also followed along. Each and every one of them changed how they addressed Ji Fengyan, all of them calling her "Lady City Lord".
Those commoner off to the side who still hadn't been able to escape could feel that the slaughter had already ended, and they also noticed that although blood was spraying everywhere, but not even one citizen suffered injuries. Obviously, Ji Fengyan didn't plan on acting against the commoners.
Along with the constant changes in the situation, a few brave people stayed behind as they curiously watched this latest change.

Nobody understood.
However, at this moment, anybody who had a working brain could already understand that just based on Ji Fengyan's strength, if she wanted to kill somebody, then that middle-aged man basically wouldn't have been able to escape. What's more, the reaction of the Ideal Gold Store's manager before he died obviously indicated that everything that happened today was all because of Lei Xu wanting to slander Ji Fengyan.
Unfortunately, even in his dreams, Lei Xu who had commanded the wind and rain in Ji City for so many years would've never imagined that he would actually kick an iron board today.
The entire game was lost.
"Fengyan, I… I know that I should die for my crimes, but… but I can still be counted as Ji City's Vice-City Lord right now and I'm also somebody from the Lei Clan, somebody who has always worked for the Eldest Princess. You… If you kill me, then it's very likely that you wouldn't be able to answer to our superiors from above." Lei Xu knew that he was defeated. All he could do now was to carefully grasp for any chance at survival.
Ji Fengyan raised a brow as she watched Lei Xu trying to puff himself up, unable to help but want to laugh. Abruptly, she lifted up her hand and ripped open the front of her garment, revealing her snowy-white neck.
"Did you think that I would be afraid?"

Shockingly, on Ji Fengyan's revealed neck, there was a dark golden-coloured necklace.
That necklace was closely adhered to Ji Fengyan's neck without the slightest bit of space between the two, almost as if it had naturally grown there. Attached to it was a small, egg-sized, silver-coloured pendant. A sparkling gem was inlayed at the centre of that pendant with obscure sigils spreading out from it to mark the entire pendant.
The pendant wasn't beautiful, but the instant that it was revealed, it sent the entire crowd into an uproar!
Life Annihilation Armour!
Once everybody saw that pendant clearly, they all drew in a cold breath.
Amongst the different nations, the main battle strength that opposed the demons were the life exterminators who had Life Annihilation Armours. According to rumour, only those who had a life exterminator's bloodline would be able to use a Life Annihilation Armour. It would be able to change into a small seal and once it was activated by a life exterminator's blood, it would instantly transform into the powerful and mighty Life Annihilation Armour!
Wasn't what Ji Fengyan wore on her neck the seal of a Life Annihilation Armour?!
At this moment, everybody understood.
Ji Fengyan was truly and actually Ji City's city lord.
Every single life exterminator would all have a city once they inherit their Life Annihilation Armour, and Ji City was the city that was granted to Ji Fengyan by His Majesty.
Once that was thought through, then what Lei Xu wanted to do and did became extremely obvious.
He had no desire to step down from the position of Ji City's city lord, so he wanted to force Ji Fengyan to bow her head towards him and carry out the engagement between her and Lei Min, thus completely solidifying his grasp on Ji City.
Only it was a pity that Ji Fengyan wasn't somebody he could just mess with as he pleased.
That treasured son of his would also never be able to enter her eyes as well.
Whether that engagement really did exist, was already unimportant to everybody there. What they really wanted to know, was how Ji Fengyan would deal with Lei Xu.
Even a life exterminator would have to ask for confirmation from His Majesty if they wanted to deal with a vice-city lord. Once they received a decree, then they would be able to finally act.
This was the last sliver of life that Lei Xu could grab on to.
However, just when everybody was still stunned by Ji Fengyan's true status, when Liu Huo saw the Life Annihilation Armour seal on her neck, his eyes became slightly shocked. The eyes that he used to look at Ji Fengyan abruptly became clouded by a complicated expression, his pretty eyebrows unable to help but lightly furrow.
She was actually a life exterminator?
Lei Xu's face twitched as he looked at Ji Fengyan, his sweat pouring down like rain water.
"Lei Xu, I know what you're thinking. However, I'm very curious. If I don't obey the rules and kill you right now, then would His Majesty take the head of a life exterminator like me for a shameless person like you or not?" She asked, her lips curling up dangerously.
Despair swallowed up Lei Xu's heart at her words. How could a meagre and pathetic Ji City vice-city lord have the qualifications to be compared with a powerful and noble life exterminator?
This answer was already very obvious.
Lei Xu dejectedly sat on the ground, looking as if he had instantly aged more than ten years. The hand that was hugging Ji Fengyan's calf also slackened.
A trace of a smile flashed in the depths of Ji Fengyan's eyes.
Lei Xu abruptly thought of something and quickly opened his mouth, "Wait, wait, the Eldest P-"
Splat!
Unfortunately, in the end, Lei Xu wasn't able to finish speaking before Ji Fengyan's hand had already lightly slid across his neck. In an instant, Lei Xu's head was sent flying with a flick of her hands.
