Virtual Reality. A system found by a game industry. At first, VR is in a shape of a console for First Person View attached to the head like a helm with a controller with both hands to control the In-game hands.
This system has few weaknesses. One of them is that some games need our whole body to move while our view is blocked by the game. But, the player will be seen as a crazy person if played outside.
Around ten years later, a scientist has succeded in developing this system so that it can be used to enter a subliminal world and calming human’s nervous system. He named his innovation Full Dive.
Then he applied his innovation into medical field as a theraphy to most of diseases that can’t be cured before.
This development then followed by the founder of VR system, Ikura Okuno. he worked together with the scientist to apply this system to society and daily life.
The tool made with that in mind is called Digital Virtual Portal (DVP). this tool is an upgrade of smartphone with VR system imlemented in shape of some kind of accessories like a bangle, ring, and collar.
“Onii-chan, is the breakfast ready?” asks a girl in her bedroom.
“… Please wait, Lily. It’s almost done” answers a boy in the kitchen.
The boy’s name is Azmi. He is 15 years old and heights 160 cm. His black hair reached his shoulder. with expresionless face, silky white skin, and round-shaped head made him look like a doll.
And the girl who is talking with Azmi named Lily. She two months younger than him. Ironically, Lily is taller than Azmi and girl on average that is 168 cm. Her black hair that has reached her back is being tied in a ponytail . Her proportional body and cheerful personality made her popular both in school and in her neighborhood.
“Lily, The food is ready” Azmi called Lily as soon as he finished cooking.
“What is today’s menu?”
“There are tuna sandwich with egg and milk”
“Simple as always, huh. Onii-chan”
“… If you don’t want it, you can just throw it away”
hearing that, Lily sighs.
“You know, Onii-chan. you always pessimistic with anything. Simple that i said is in a good meaning”
“… Sorry”
“Forgiven. Now let’s eat!”
They Then sat on the chair they usually sit on. Even though they just life with each other, The house they lived in sized 6LDK with 2 floors and spacious yard made it obvious that it should have 6 chairs and a large table in the dining room. Azmi sat on the middle part and Lily sat across him.
“”Let’s enjoy our meal””
When eating, both of them stopped talking and focused on their food. After breakfast, they brush their teeth and then making preparations to go to school.
Their School is Surabaya’s St. Maria High School. Their School time started from 06.30 am until 12.00 pm. The distance between school and their house are about 700 m. that distance is one of the reason they went there using 2-seat bike everyday.
“Hey, Onii-chan. Have you found a game to work with?”
“Yes, I found a very interesting game. Yesterday I have searched continuously until I found an RPG game that released tomorrow. The Concept is very unique and it’s utilizing DVP’s features. That concept is called Personality Class where Job and skill we got is determined by player’s characteristic and behavior that could be seen with DVP’s Camera which then-“
“Hahaha. When it’s about games, the usually silent Onii-chan became talkative. What amaze me the most is that Onii-chan’s expression and intonation keeps unchanged”
“… sorry”
“By the way, what’s the gamr called?”
“…Trait Order”
Then they chatted for a while until they reached the school.
When they got to school, they could see there is a group of people clustered into one place. Curious, Lily entered the cluster to see the source of this. When she found it, she was very surprised
The source of this cluster is a couple consisted of a boy and a girl facing each other.
The girl’s name is Angeline Augus Argenta. She’s in the same year as Azmi and Lily that is 1st year. She heights 164 cm, much like woman’s height in general. Her silver hair is so shiny the tip of her hair that is behind her waist is being tied to make them stay in one place. She is the most populair girl in this school even though she’s still new here.
And the boy in front of Argenta is named Axel Jaya Pratama. He is a 2nd year with 17 as his age and 176 cm as his height. Blonde hair with bob cut style and symmetrical made him looks cool handsome. If Argenta is the most populair girl, then Axel is the most populair boy in the school.
“Hey, what’s going on here?” Asked Lily
“It seems that the most populair pair is gonna be a couple here” answered a person besides Lily
“Really? It doesn’t seem that way for me…”
“We’ll just see”
“Can everyone be silent for a second?” Order Axel
Everyone in the vicinity stopped talking because of Axel’s voice.
“So, what do you want?” Tanya Argenta
“… I will cut to the case. I want you to become my girlfriend”
“… Haaah… if you want answer, go to to the back of 1st year building after school and don’t bring anybody. I will answer you there”
“Huh. No need to be shy about it. Answer it right here so that everyone know”
“You don’t have the right to ask something that i don’t want to do. If you don’t need it then, I guess I don’t have to”
“… fine, fine. I’ll go there. Afterall, the answer will still be the same”
“…”
After that Argenta got out of the cluster and went to her class followed by the cluster who went to their respective class.
That event became the school’s talk. Everybody’s curious about what Argenta’s answer would be. In the middle of that…
“Argenta would reject him right, Onii-chan?”
“…? What are you talking about?”
Azmi alone that didn’t know about that event.
“… Onii-chan, insensitive like usual” mumble Lily while sighing.
*you got 1 new mail(s)* Azmi’s bangle-type DVP rang.
“… I got a mail” Kata Azmi
“Hee, it’s rare for Onii-chan to get a mail. Who is the sender?”
“… Argenta”
“ARGENTA!?!?” Lily shocked hearing the talked person’s name and she unconsci ously stand up and smacked Azmi’s table.
Everybody in the 1st class surprised and their head turned to the source of the loud sound, then return and continuing their talk that Lily is the source.
“… Maybe” Azmi has a doubt that Argenta Lily was talking about is the same person or not.
“W-what’s written in the mail?” Asked Lily nervously
“…’please come to the back of 1st year building after the last school bell rang’. At least that’s what wtitten here” the mail he got from Argenta is so long that Azmi couldn’t say all of it.
“… Onii-chan, I think it’s better if you just ignore the mail” Lily felt that something bad will happen if he goes there.
“… I know what you mean, Lily. She had wrote all the details there. And said that if I don’t go, a bad happening will occurs in this school and everyone will be involved in it”
“… Maybe what she said is right, but…”
“…I’m sorry Lily, but please go home first. If this is something dangerous, I don’t wnt to involve you in this”
“… fine, Onii-chan. BUT, I want one thing”
“… What is it?”
“Don’t get lured by the devil”
“…?”
Lily went to 3rd class, the class where sjeshpuld be because the school hour will begin.
“You seems pretty busy, huh” said the person sat beside Azmi
That person is called Reza Septo Pradana. He is 170 cm tall. He has a clean cut on his black hair and he wears glasses. Reza is the only friend of Azmi in the 1st class.
“… I’m sorry for Lily’s loudiness”
“Haha, yeah right. I thought Argenta would be coming here”
*ding dong* the school’s bell has rang. Every student in their class sat at their respective chair while student that have just arrived hastened their step get in the class as soon as possible.
The school progress as usual so many student weren’t focused because this morning event could be seen.
Note: If you have read the prologue, just ignore this note. For those haven’t, and confused by japanese teminology in this novel, I will explain it in this note. Even though now they life in Indonesia, Lili and Azmi is actually pure japanese. The reason will be explained in some chapters after this one so i can’t tell you now
