Countess of Chaoxia’s face darkened, viciously glaring at Lou Lianxin.
“What’s happening here? Didn’t you tell this countess that it was some palace outfit? Why isn’t it now?”
Lou Lianxin’s face turned green and pale, her hands twisting as she was stunned.
How would she know?
Mother clearly told her before she left that the sl*t Lou Qingwu would be wearing a soft silvery lily gown.
Why isn’t it now?
But she had already spoken before so she couldn’t take back her words now.
The only way was to act pitiful and as long as the countess believed her, these people wouldn’t dare say anything.
Immediately, Lou Lianxin’s eyes welled up with tears, pitifully lowering her voice, “Countess, you have to believe Lian’er, when have I ever lied to you? Big sister really stole grandfather’s sister’s clothes.
Furthermore, did you forget that she stole my bracelet and framed Dong Mei. She can cause Dong Mei so she’s definitely trying to separate us. Countess, you really have to believe Lian’er!”
Countess of Chaoxia heard ‘Dong Mei’ and immediately, her temper flared up again.
She turned around and threw all of her anger onto Lou Qingwu.
She stared at Lou Qingwu and then turned to comfort Lou Lianxin, patting her hand.
“Don’t worry, this countess believes you.”
“Thank you countess, for your belief in Lian’er. You treat Lian’er the best ….”
Lou Lianxin’s voice when she was explaining was extremely low so no one else could hear.
But Xiahou Liuyun and Xiahou Rui were people who practised martial arts and could clearly hear her.
Xiahou Liuyun’s pretty eyes rounded in disbelief, he couldn’t believe that there’d actually be someone who would blatantly flip the truth like that.
What did she mean Lou Qingwu stole the bracelet and framed the maidservant?
It clearly was her and the servant’s ploy that was played out!
Xiahou Liuyun’s handsome face pulled taut, it looked like his dumb cousin fell for it completely too.
His dark eyes rolled around and suddenly laughed roguishly, “Yiren little sister, don’t let people use as a weapon like that and don’t even know it.”
Yiren is Countess of Chaoxia’s maiden name so when she heard it, she was stunned for a moment.
When she turned around and saw Xiahou Liuyun and Xiahou Rui, her eyes brightened, “Brother Rui, Brother Liuyun! When did you guys enter the palace?”
“Aiyo, wasn’t it because we heard that Yiren little sister was coming so second brother and I personally came to pick you up.”
Xiahou Liuyun was lying through his teeth and didn’t blink once.
He didn’t want to say that he was bored and seeing that Lou Qingwu still hadn’t come, he was strolling around to see if he could find her.
Coincidentally, he bumped into his second brother so he dragged him along too but who knew that he’d be able to see such a good show.
If it wasn’t for him who saw it and let Yiren actually believe Lou Lianxin’s words, following his cousin’s bitter, jealous and vicious nature, Lou Qingwu definitely would suffer tonight!
And how could he let that happen?
It was so hard finding such an interesting person, he couldn’t let her be ruined so easily.
When the Countess of Chaoxia heard that, she was delighted, “Brother Rui and Brother Liuyun dote on Yiren the most.”
She headed towards the two people and her face had no trace of her previously nasty expression.
She lifted her head and tugged at Xiahou Liuyun’s sleeve then thought of Xiahou Liuyun’s words.
She was unable to help but tilt her head, confusedly, “Brother Liuyun, what do you mean? How did Yiren get used as a weapon?”

TL note:
Maiden name - not the same as the western maiden name, but single unmarried girls and even married women, don’t let their real names be called by other people lightly. Names can be intimate so only those who are related or close to you can call you like that.
E.g. Li Jingsheng called LQW, “Qingwu” instead of Lou Qingwu and other people can only call the countess, “Countess of Chaoxia” and even Lou Lianxin can call her “countess”, disregarding the rest of her title. However, the princes are her cousin and higher in rank, so they call her by her name “Yiren”. Husbands would call their wives intimately by their “maiden names” in private but in public, call them “madam” or by their title if it’s the emperor.
