The black shadow shifted. Moments later, the Deinonychus was pouncing through the air. Its incomparably incisive claws swiping ruthlessly for Sheyan.
Sheyan took a deep breath. The military camouflage shirt he was wearing wasn't well-fitting, ripping out 7-8 slits as his muscles swelled.
Sheyan jumped forth to meet his attacking. With both hands gripping his saber shaft, he hacked down with full strength!
Since there was no way out, he would slaughter a way out!
Blue melancholic glitters sparkled out.
A clean swipe!
Sheyan was supplemented with the momentous force of his charging sprint, causing his incoming saber to carry a faint whistling scream when hacking down; seemingly impressing an oppressive resonance throughout one's innards.
Though the Deinonychus' pouncing cleave carried deadly strength and speed, when it clashed head on with '+7 West', sparks scattered as its claws were parried away by an unstoppable and domineering strength.
In this instance, the long saber blade slashed through the Deinonychus' chest to its belly. A ghastly ripping sound echoed out as the unfortunately dinosaur stumbled backwards. Puchi! Blood gushed out profusely from its chest to belly wound.
Of course, the dinosaur's parried claws managed to cleave Sheyan as well. Instead, he realized the dinosaur's claw was like a silvery pointed spear made up of pewter; worthless despite an attractive appearance.
Its claws appeared with acute stainless steel sharpness, yet the might it carried failed to live up to expectations.
After wounding his opponent, Sheyan landed with a frontward roll and continued sprinting away.
Still, the heavily wounded Deinonychus remained exceedingly relentless. After issuing an agonized grunt on the ground, it immediately swung back and lunged towards Sheyan.
Sensing the malicious intent of his fore, Sheyan immediately spun round and released a daunting horizontal slash!
When the Deinonychus' claws cleaved against Sheyan, Sheyan's terrifying slash simultaneously struck the Deinonychus!
The strength requirement of '+7 West' was relatively demanding, and normally required wielding with two hands to exhibit its fullest threat. For a heavy weapon like this, it also required countless hard work and practice to tune one's proficiency in using it. Naturally, a fast swiping heavy saber carried immense inertia, causing the resultant destructiveness to be amplified.
When his saber blade chopped onto the Deinonychus' head, Sheyan even felt a sensation of pounding a walnut.
Once again, the heavily wounded Deinonychus issued a sorrowful screech, and tumbled to the ground while violently struggling. Blood spilled out from its mouth along with broken bone splinters and pulpy innards. Even a genetically modified Deinonychus couldn't withstand the heaviness of this saber chop.
Still, the Deinonychus glared at Sheyan with fiery, murderous intent. Obviously, physical pain wasn't that much of a big deal to it.
The Deinonychus only thirsted for one thing - to viciously chew the flesh of all visible prey, and enjoy the prey's refreshing blood. To let all lifeforms cower beneath its tyrannical brutality!
As compared to the other Deinonychus the trio encountered earlier, this one's fighting spirit and menacing exterior was several folds more impressive. If one described the current Deinonychus as a standard militant, the previously one could only be described as a reserve force.
Nevertheless, Sheyan didn't care about all these. He only desire was for this dinosaur to give way. Once he noticed an unobstructed opponent ahead, he immediately turned and raced off!
After nearly 200 metres of sprinting, he finally spectated the ghetto, filled with short slum houses, that Reef had mentioned earlier. The majority of houses here appeared to be short lasting constructs that would fail the minimum testing grade of buildings. Putting it bluntly, this was a shantytown normally located around the outskirts of cities.
Frankly speaking, Sheyan felt that the Tyrannosaurus wouldn't face any scruples in such a terrain. For a dinosaur of such a grand physical size, dashing through the streets of houses previously was akin to a human dashing through a dense forest; knocking against trees that could cause starry concussions.
For Sheyan, the difficulty of maneuvering through these tightly packed slum houses, definitely surpassed that of sprinting through the street houses. On the contrary, this place was like running in a patch of knee high grass to the Tyrannosaurus. Regardless of where it turned, such minor collisions wouldn't disorientate and confuse its mind!
"Darn it, could that document be lying? Should I enter?"
Sheyan hesitated briefly upon encountering such a situation. Instead, he immediately realized something exceedingly mystifying.
The frightening tremors reverberating throughout the ground, signalling the soon arrival of the death god, had oddly vanished!
This indicated one fact - the Tyrannosaurus had patted its buttocks and departed resentfully…...
"What the hell?" Finally abscised from this deadly pursuit, a tremendous suspicion floated up in Sheyan's heart.
"Could it be a virus outbreak? Ah, that isn't right too. According to earlier testing, the symptoms of my low ranked viruses are negligible to dinosaurs."
The more Sheyan contemplated, the more he felt the entire situation was fishy.
At present, not only wasn't feeling the joy of evading a calamity, he was instead feeling immeasurable chill as though his blood ran cold!
There was an extremely simple logic to this. One could imply its temperament and overbearing might just from its name, Tyrannosaurus.
To compel a dinosaur whose might ranked amongst the strongest of single unit overlords, much more a furious one at that, to retreat like an alarmed stray dog, what kind of fearsome existence must one be???
Sheyam recalled the words recorded in that document.....
"Seems like I've misinterpreted something. The act of fleeing to the ghettos isn't to leverage the terrain, ah but rather....this vile environment very possibly houses a monster that even the Tyrannosaurus harbors restraining fear to!"
At this instant, a flustered Reef suddenly called out to the party channel.
"Boss?! Boss??! Can you hear me? Are you fine?"
Sheyan immediately felt a shudder in his heart as he replied.
"I'm fine."
Reef then exclaimed in a shaky voice.
"I-I....need reinforcement! I can't hold on for long!"
Sheyan was appalled. He knew the extreme pride Reef held in his heart, especially after he successfully promoted to a Growth-Hunter. Even back in the hidden world, his demeanor was always boldly guarding the front and fearlessly advancing. It was practically easier to kill him than for him to utter the words 'I can't hold on for long'.
"Where're you?! The crisis here has been absolved!'
"West side, that motel in the west, can you see it? The one with a semi collapsed signboard and three storeys." Reef huffed into the chat.
With a quick scan, he realized that place was coincidentally the route he mentally sketched previously. Just approximately 500 metres from this ghetto, right at the outer perimeter.
Reef's voice flowed intermittently into the chat.
"I was about to land and assist you...….screw off, taste my shield bitch.....but when I just landed, these blasted freaks started besieging me. You must be careful!"
Sheyan's heart was immensely sullen. Evidently, those freaks pressurizing Reef into a breathless impasse, were the reasons for the Tyrannosaurus mysteriously departing.
Without a second word, Sheyan started charging towards Reef.
Thirty metres before reaching the motel, indescribably rays abruptly beamed out from the motel area! Those dazzling rays wildly refracted out like arrows, spears and thorns. Resembling a sun that was fissuring, the rays were scorchingly hot and cauterized through buildings in a heartbeat!
"Reef actually resorted to that move??" Sheyan's heart sank.
Evidently, this spectacular sight revealed that Reef just activated the ability of his dark gold grade shield - 'Scorching Radiance' !
Without an absolutely essential state of crisis, Reef definitely wouldn't unleash this ability.
Sheyan vehemently rushed forth. With his arms wrapped around his head, he rampantly smashed against the perimeter wall of the motel, that were worn out by years of non-repair.
As he rapidly scaled a degenerated flight of stairs to the third floor, he finally sighted a half-kneeling Reef who had fallen into near-death state.
Right now, 6-7 monsters were wildly ravaging him.
Borrowing the incandescent illumination of sporadic combusting embers, Sheyan instantly received a huge shock.
Those monsters that had reduced Reef to such a pathetic state within a short span of time, was shockingly a pack of Deinonychus! In fact, they appeared identical to that 'stronger edition' Deinonychus that Sheyan shrugged off previously!
"What's going on?" Sheyan hastily hurled a flask of curse-mix over, attempting to attract the attention to himself first.
Yet strangely, apart from the assaults from these pack of 'stronger edition' Deinonychus being exceptionally fast, they didn't contain much indomitable strength. Hence, Sheyan ingeniously lured the pack into a neighboring area, allowing Reef to utilize a health restoring medicine.
As Reef recovered from near-death state, he immediately howled out.
"Careful, their attacks are incredibly ridiculous! It's all true damages!"
Sheyan's heart shuddered and hastily investigated his battle log. Very quickly, a list of notifications popped out.
