Ten minutes later, Jinkuang sauntered out of the carriage with his head high and chest out.

Eventually, the verdict of his discussions with the vikings was out – the three objects, ‘Murmurs of a Great Bear’, ‘Viking Precious Keepsake’ and the ‘Deer Bone Staff’ had to be claimed back. As for the ‘Greatsword of Ice and Snow’, though it was Harrod’s special weapon, they had no use for it and it wasn’t compatible with their own weapons. Hence, it was discounted.

As it turns out, the Asgarda tribe would soon host the ‘festival of furious bears’ to decide their new patriarch. Only ones who possess a the ‘Viking Precious Keepsake’, would gain the qualifications to participate in the procession competition.

As for the helmet, ‘Murmurs of a Great Bear’, it was a formidable helmet that could substantially boost a viking warrior’s combative power; an incredible insurance in defeating other candidates.

Yet Sheyan didn’t expect that of the three objects, the most valuable one was the inextinguishable ‘Deer Bone Staff’.

That was due to the harsh conditions of their environment, because the final hurdle of the inheritor test was for a viking warrior to ascend a glacier within the freezing temperature of -20 degrees. Afterwards, they would have to cross several miles of icy seawaters, before hunting down a gigantic legendary creature, a snow beast; who resided within a snow capped jungle.

Under such circumstances, having an enchanted staff that could ignite in any scenario, would be the decider between victory or defeat and possibly life or death!

A fire source could allow one to cook to replenish bodily energy, supply warmth in the huts of snow, and perhaps even successfully ascend the patriarch’s throne without hunting the snow beast.

This wasn’t a joke, and it truly happened to Harrod’s dad. While crossing the icy seawater, he suffered an attack from a deadly polar bear; eventually sustaining grave injuries. Hence, he could only utilize this ‘Deer Bone Staff’ to start a bonfire and slowly nurse his injuries in the snow capped jungles. During that period, he had utterly abandoned hopes of becoming the next patriarch.

Meanwhile, the fire source of those other candidates were all soaked and extinguished after crossing the icy sea. Therefore, they had no choice but to challenge the snow beast while still retaining sufficient energy within them. After slaying the beast, they would have to swim across the icy sea once again. Otherwise without a fire source within the snow capped jungle, all their food supplies would turn frozen stiff and become inedible. Over time, their energy would gradually be sapped away and become exhausted, leading to a dreadful ending.

In the end, the outcome of those candidates was a tragic one. They were shredded asunder by the fangs and claws of the snow beast, leaving behind a measly candidate; a defeated individual who couldn’t fight due to injuries. Ultimately, that individual was propelled to become the successor.

Unfortunately, this information was leaked to Sheyan. Henceforth, wishing to retrieve those three items from him wouldn’t be an easy task. Moreover, the slutty intermediary, Jinkuang, was still laying hands on those three items. As such, an exorbitant price and a pact of humiliating surrender was signed.

The simple minds of the vikings were easily toyed into a mess by the unceasing gabbling of Jinkuang. More crucially, Jinkuang relied on his distinct and keen business nose to whiff out a vital statement, which accurately speaking, was a statement that came from Rollo himself – ‘...we aren’t living well either....’

Jinkuang’s eyeballs shuttled around as he proactively suggested that based on their current friendship, regardless if a deal is made, he would be willing to gift them with ten barrels of ordinary rum, 800 guineas, loaves of rye bread and a list of living necessities.

Of course, Jinkuang would only require roughly several dozens of gold guineas to procure those commodities. Instead, those commodities would be able to secure the camaraderie between both parties. Such overwhelming treatment was like the final straw to shatter the mental defenses of the mighty viking, Rollo.

Proceeding from there, the vikings crumbled and fell into the trickery of Jinkuang’s miserable gaze; presenting all their exchangeable chips to Jinkuang.

After a sequence of careful selections, the price of those anxious vikings was a divine stone, ‘Odin’s Surge’, an accessory, ‘Sacred Cow-horn cup’, and an item, ‘Birch bark of the Hlidskjalf*’ x3’.

Indeed, as the proverb goes, when Jinkuang acts the ceiling cracks. To cause the opposing dealing party to offer up everything with both hands for one’s choosing pleasure, was truly an admirable feat.

Jinkuang flaunted his capabilities conceitedly, while Rollo and the others eagerly checked the various commodities they received, and totally ignored the fact that they had exchanged their divine objects and equipments.

There wasn’t a need to doubt Jinkuang’s purchasing power. Those commodities worth tens of guineas, were practically sufficient to guarantee the survival of Rollo and several of his tribesmen for the winter. This was seemingly an aspect where both sides won....

Of course, that was what the simple minds of the vikings thought.

Without a doubt, this transaction had greatly benefited Sheyan and the others. As the saying goes, the matter should not be delayed. The trio immediately huddled together to divide the spoils.

Naturally, only Sheyan could equip the ‘Sacred Cow-horn cup’. He then stripped off his +1 physique pocketwatch. Not sure if it was coincidental, but now, both Sheyan’s pair of accessory previously belonged to vikings.

As for that ‘Divine Stone: Odin’s Surge’, it contained a total of seventy points of divine power. Every usage would exhaust ten points of divine power, which equated to seven times.

Hence, the trio would minimally have two opportunities at it each. After Sheyan’s innate ability ‘Stronghold’ had awakened, his resistance to abnormal effects was the highest. Thus, he was chosen as the experimental tool.

The appearance of the ‘Divine Stone: Odin’s Surge’ was pretty mediocre; analogous to a casual fist sized pebble, except for its glossy layer that seemed to be coated with broil lacquer.

As Sheyan held the stone, he could feel an abnormal warmth emanating from it; as though it had just been retrieved from a bonfire. Pulses of heartbeat could be felt from the depths of this divine stone, which flooded in with endless surging power!!
