Feng Tianlan held some respect for the empress for being able to question her in such a calm manner, “She must’ve guessed that the events tonight isn’t because of me alone.”
The empress took a glance at the inner hall, then thought about the incident tonight carefully. Suddenly, she somewhat figured it out. Is Jin’er involved in tonight’s incident as well?
“Dai’er, you should talk Jin’er out of it. He’s the future emperor. He mustn’t be clouded by emotions…”
“Your Majesty.” Feng Tianlan raised her eyes and interrupted the empress with a deep voice, “I will never let go of Shen Yunya, but the child is innocent. I will not harm an innocent life. As for the prince, I think you know better than him about how much I like Mobai. But look at how cruel I am in rejecting him. This is just a single incident. There are still many things which you don’t know, nor is it necessary for you to learn about at present time.”
Hearing these words of suppressed anger, the empress stared at Feng Tianlan in front of her coldly with her brows knitted. She was exuding the demeanor of an emperor, and even her speech contained the might of a ruler. Such a woman was too imposing in appearance.
Besides, she was not even enraged with her speech. It was probably because she shared a closer bond with her as she had watched her growing up.
“As long as you do not harm Jin’er and the child in her belly, I will not interfere.” After uttering this sentence, the empress turned around and entered the inner hall.
She does not like Shen Yunya, but the child in her stomach was her grandchild. Hence, she had to make sure that the child could be born successfully.
Feng Tianlan glanced at the brightly lit inner hall, then turned around and left the palace.
“Shui Jue, how did it go?”
Shui Jue did not appear, nor was his voice loud in his reply. She was the only one that could hear him, “Everything has been done, that bowl of snow rabbit soup just now is Jiang Ying’s manhood…”
“…” the corner of Feng Tianlan’s mouth twitched. Now, she finally understood why she felt that the soup was disgusting. She raised her hand, gesturing Shui Jue to not say something so disgusting, “Is the arrangements for Sister Lin to leave Lin’an City ready?”

Feng Tianlan left the palace and looked at the night sky. In her eyes, the faint moonlight exuded by the full moon felt as if Si Mobai in white clothing smiling gently at her. She curled her lips in spite of herself, “I really miss Mobai. If I can see meet him right now, that’ll be great.”
As soon as Feng Tianlan’s word fell, she heard a crisp voice as cool and mellow as wine striking her ears, “If you can meet him now, what would you do, Lan’er?”
Hearing this familiar voice, Feng Tianlan shifted her gaze from the full moon to her front. Beneath the endless curtain of the night, on the side of the empty street, under the faint moonlight, a tall white figure slowly walked towards her. Under the veil of moonlight, that handsome face that would render the rest of the world black and white looked more like a deity descending from the sky…
Staring at the one who was approaching, Feng Tianlan’s heart could not help but missed a beat. It seemed to her that she was looking at Mobai. Was she seeing things?
Si Mobai stood in front of Feng Tianlan. Watching her eyes full of disbelief, he raised the corner of his lips, reached out his hand, and gently flicked her forehead, “Have you become a fool after seeing your husband?”
“Mo… Mobai?” Feng Tianlan raised her hand to hold her forehead that was experiencing mild pain. She still could not believe that Si Mobai had appeared in front of herself out of nowhere. That just does not feel real.
Si Mobai nodded gently and revealed a gleeful smile on his face, “Now that you’ve seen him, what are you going to do, Lan’er?”
“Ah! It’s really Mobai!” Feng Tianlan confirmed again and again. Immediately, she spread her hands, jumped on him, and hugged Si Mobai.
