Si Mobai’s gaze immediately became frigid. He raised his hand, intending to strike, but Feng Tianlan stopped him. “Why did you want to assassinate me?”
Why had she confessed so swiftly and with so much composure?
Gao Sijia raised her head and looked at Si Mobai with an incomprehensible look full of burning affection. “From the moment this subordinate met Master, I developed feelings for him…”
Before she could even finish speaking, Gao Sijia was hit by a powerful wave of Spiritual Energy and was sent flying. She collided forcefully against a pillar and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

The other three guys hurried forward to check on Gao Sijia. She had swallowed poison out of her own volition and had already stopped breathing.
Si Mobai knitted his brows and looked at Feng Tianlan. “Lan’er?”
“Forget about it. Let’s go,” Feng Tianlan replied faintly. It was obvious that Gao Sijia was covering the tracks of someone else. Gao Sijia had probably made preparations to commit suicide as soon as she entered the city.
She had already assumed that it would not be unveiled so easily, but she had not expected someone to try and cover up the crime. So cleanly, at that. She had even implicated her entire family just like that.
“You guys sort this out. Also, this matter cannot be concluded yet. Continue investigating. If you’re unable to attain any results, then you all can go and accept your punishment.” After giving his orders coldly, Si Mobai stood up and held Feng Tianlan’s hand before taking his leave.
The remaining three people gaped at Gao Sijia’s corpse. After looking at each other in dismay, they finally went to deal with the body.
“Lan’er, where do you want to go?” Si Mobai asked.
Feng Tianlan shook her head faintly. “I’m not going anymore. Let’s just return to the courtyard.
“Still thinking about what happened just now?”
Feng Tianlan acknowledged in a soft voice, “If I knew that this would happen, I wouldn’t have appeared in female clothes. That way, at least some investigations could have been done.”
At present, their lead had been abruptly cut off, and so cleanly at that. Even the lives of her entire family had been extinguished. With this degree of cruelty, she was unable to imagine who the orchestrator behind the scenes was.
Si Mobai furrowed his brows without saying a word. His fingers were tightly interlaced with Feng Tianlan’s hand as he led her back to the room.
