His punch brought about nothing but buzzes --the wall remained solid as ever, and the mighty counterforce even pushed Lin backward for a couple of steps. It was then something marvelous happened.
Golden rays darted forth out of the smooth surface of walls, displaying another wave of characters, where a spectacular air of grandeur popped out and inundated the whole cubicle. Lin kept drawing back, and The Bible of Gods and Devils broke into rapid operation again.
The first four characters brought a quake in Lin's boots, he stood astonished with eyes wide open.
"I'm XuanYu (it literally means the Mysterious Cosmos)..."
The name itself almost suffocated Lin Xiao.

In the Forsaken Cemetery, the name, along with another handful, recurred in quite a few jade-slip books, whose writers shared the same title—Dizun(it literally means the Esteemed Majesty).
Beyond doubt, the identity of XuanYu was no other than Dizun as well, otherwise, he couldn't have been included in the jade-slip books.
As far as Lin Xiao was aware, XuanYu the Great Emperor was the only demonic monster that developed all the way into an emperor via cultivation.
XuanYu the Great Emperor used to be an average tortoise, which happened to be granted an opportunity to change its own destiny and advance triumphantly until it rose to become Di Zun. And it was well known for its unconquerable physical power.
Lin Xiao could recall the recurring reference to the cultivation methods in the books, all of which he held in high regard. He even remembered a record in one book that someone even perfected his skills and techniques during a battle against XuanYu.
That was just as it should be that some Dizuns lamented that XuanYu the Great Emperor could have ascended on top of the heap with his physical strength alone if his skills and techniques were truly flawless.

Then came a revelation that The Bible of Gods and Devils he mastered was no other than the methods developed by Xuanyu, and accordingly, the underworld palace was his provisional palace.
After a haste read, Lin Xiao realized that even the almighty Dizun might have put a foot wrong.
As a matter of fact, XuanYu the Great Emperor had long since completed the text of The Bible of Gods and Devils, but he was no longer able to return to the original state per se and start all over again. Xuanyu managed to break free with a gleam of spiritual thought after he got boxed in by an all-around blockade while engaged in a Godfiend battle. Then he made his way here.
Speculating on multi-colored spiritual flames blazing on a seal behind the wall, XuanYu the Great Emperor found it available to integrate the spiritual flames with The Bible of Gods and Devils, then he could finally round off his cultivation in the Regimen Environment and go beyond his prior status. However, he was even struggling to prong long his last gasp.
"For the remote thousands of years, I had been riding the whirlwind."
Right after Lin Xiao finished reading the two lines, the golden characters faded away and the prior quietness returned.

Not until the text dissolved did Lin Xiao sense omnipresent wound-like aches in his flesh, he flopped down in restless agitation.
Though he had observed the battle of emperors in the Forsaken Cemetery, he could hardly come to terms with the spectacle of the battle. The writing left by the depressed Dizun still retained its formidable power over thousands of years. Lin had an illusion that XuanYu the Great Emperor seemed to have understood everything thoroughly in his deathbed, including Lin's visit. By extension, all he experienced previously turned out to be a test for Lin, or else nobody would be allowed in.
Lin Xiao felt suddenly enlightened and gave a respectful salute to the wall, then his cultivation commenced.
As XuanYu the Great Emperor said if one trained with the spiritual flames, his truly unmatched cultivation in the Regimen Environment would conclude accordingly. Because the combination of the five-element force contained in the flames and his flesh would generate unconquerable physical power, impervious to anything but spiritual weapons.
