Diling's reference to spiritual monsters reminded Lin Xiao of a popular mundane joke. Hence, he beamed at Diling, "So what? I've already tasted spiritual monsters."

"Oh my! You have tried them?" Diling was scared to death.

Lin Xiao put on a bashful smile, "I once ate a Kunpeng (a giant ancient spiritual creature in Chinese mythologies, which is a bit like a combination of a whale and a giant eagle). Not sure whether it counts as a spiritual monster."

"Kun...Kunpeng?" Diling stuttered in spite of itself.

However, it soon held back its fear, "You sure you once ate a Kunpeng?"

"That's a long story. Once upon a time, there were two giant fish in the Sea of Nether North. They were called Kun. I headed there on a whim as people told me they were such unrivaled delicacies. However, I only managed to get one as the other was so quick on the trigger..." Lin Xiao cut himself in mid-sentence.

"Did you…you really eat it?" Di Ling was almost shuddering.

"Yup, I did. I stewed it. It was…was super delicious…"Lin Xiao painted a picture in his head.

Diling drooled over it and added, "There was another one! It was supposed to come back and avenge its friend. You know, Kunpengs are the most vindictive."

It seemed that Diling was pretty well-informed about Kunpeng. Lin Xiao felt rather surprised. However, he had a knack in dealing with spiritual monsters, one way or another.

"Yup, you're right! It came back to me in the shape of a giant bird. It was damn huge! It utterly eclipsed the sun and even the canopy! Its span was almost the size of clouds."

"Good lord! That was indeed what a Kunpeng is like!" Diling muttered under its breath and added, "Did you eat that one as well?"

"Of course. I plucked out its hairs and grilled it." Lin Xiao waved his hands cheerfully.

Nevertheless, Diling remained silent, fixing its gemstone-like eyes at Lin Xiao. Finding himself way too carried away with the fabrication, Lin Xiao crimsoned. However, once started, he would have to go on with it.

Then he cleared his throat and went on, "Some guys even composed a nursery rhyme for that."

"Nursery rhymes? Tell me what they were like!" Lin Xiao's story was of a strong appeal to Diling. It even leaped onto Lin Xiao's shoulder to hear it carefully. It reacted in the blink of the eye. Lin Xiao even failed to notice its move.

"If it launches an attack, I'm sure I won't be able to cope," Lin Xiao was with uncontrollable chills.

However, Diling pressed Lin Xiao to brief it about the nursery rhyme.

It seemed it was solely interested in the story. Lin Xiao felt relieved and coined a ragged verse, "Beneath the Mount Nether North, there was a giant fish called Kun. It's so huge that it doesn't fit a pan. It can transform into a bird, and its name is Peng. It's so huge that it called for two grill racks. One is specially flavored and the other spicy. Give me a bottle of whiskey, and come to fly with me."

Diling went blown away by Lin Xiao's fabrication. "He talks so big! And it seemed real! Perhaps, he did have eaten Kunpengs."

Diling touched its tiny mouth with its tiny paw. It looked so cute in meditation.

Lin Xiao had no idea about what to do with it. It was supposed to be a horror story, however, it turned out an impressive heroic conduct in Diling's eyes.

Unsatisfied, Lin Xiao lifted it up in the air.
