Wu Gui went up and sounded the gate knocker in a peculiar rhyme, which sounded like a secret code.
In a short while, a low-pitched voice went off inside, "Long exists the ancient times."
Wu Gui responded, "Wide opens the sect's gate."
Hardly had his voice faded away when the gate opened. Nodding to the rest of the undercover squad, Wu Gui went inside.
Eyes brightened up, Lin Xiao followed suit.
One could figure out that Suomo Town was under the control of the Suomo Sect. To Lin Xiao's surprise, there even existed a secret post of the Taixuan Sect here.
After the whole squad entered the building, the guy who greeted them closed the gate and scrutinized their faces. Then he fixed his eyes on Wu Gui and asked, "Martial Brother, why are you here?"
In the meantime, Lin Xiao looked over the guy, who appeared rather plain, dressed like a bartender. One could hardly take notice of him among a crowd.
Apart from his identity as a warrior of the Regimen Realm, he looked no different from a real bartender.
As everyone knew, the Regimen Realm was the preliminary phase of a warrior's martial cultivation. It even didn't count as an elementary stage on the Fire Metereolite Continent. Even many commoners were at that stage as well. Therefore, it was hard for the Suomo Sect to detect a secret post like this.
Lin Xiao couldn't help but nod and wondered, "Where did they snatch up this guy? Is he reliable?"
While Lin Xiao was contemplating that, Wu Gui talked to him, "Martial brother Lin Xiao, this is my senior martial brother Li Xuan, a disciple of our patriarch as well." While Wu Gui was bringing both sides together, he felt rather ill at ease when introducing Lin Xiao, as he was fully aware of Lin Xiao's real identity.
On hearing Wu Gui's introduction, Lin Xiao greeted Li Xuan forthwith.
And the rest didn't fail to make out that Li Xuai was only a Regimen Realm warrior, either. However, they didn't look down upon him for that.
Though bearing no comparison to them, Li Xuan boasted a commendable sense of judgment. Upon their arrival, he surveyed Lin Xiao, Wang Di, and Wang Manyun with his acute observation.
On seeing the three guys' behaviors, he let go of the vigilance in his eyes and put on a cordial smile, "Don't fall for him. I'm no Taixuan Disciple at all but a handyman at the Deyue (it literally means having the moon at hand) Mansion."
He talked in a rather modest manner.
"Martial brother, you..."Wu Gui was about to correct him when Li Xuan shook his head.
It seemed that Wu Gui held Li Xuan in high regard, hence he shut up forthwith as the latter signaled.
"You guys come with me," Li Xuan said and took the lead. They eventually arrived at a woodshed.
However, right after they entered the woodshed, Li Xuan hastened to ask with agitation, "What are you here for? The streets are full of the Suomo guys now!"
Wu Gui was about to respond when Lin Xiao cut in and took all the responsibilities, "Martial brother, it was I who insisted. You know the Suomo Sect has been planning an invasion into our sect. Hence, I really want to learn something about the Fiendish Blockade Method."
Though it was the first time Li Xuan had met Lin Xiao, he took to Lin Xiao right away as the latter had such pure and upright eyes.
However, as it was a life-threatening decision for them, Li Xuan told him off unforgivingly. "Don't kick up a row! Any idea about the reason why our patriarch accepted you as his last disciple? He has high hopes for you! How could you be so mischievous! Don't you know how hellish the Fiendish Blockade Method is?"
While Li Xuan was cross-examining Lin Xiao, Wu Gui went ghostly pale.
