‘Isn’t it good to be happy?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked. ‘Are you saying being with me doesn’t make you happy or are you saying I don’t give you a sense of security?’
Qiao Tan Yuan believed Gu Jiao Wu loved her. But she wasn’t used to having the man she loved the most in the world reciprocate her love. It made her scared that if she was too happy, something bad would happen and she couldn’t be with Gu Jiao Wu anymore.
‘Qiao Tan Yuan, do I give you a sense of security?’ Gu Jiao Wu asked.
‘It’s not that,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said. ‘I trust you. I’m just scared of being too happy, and my happiness will be taken away from me.’
Gu Jiao Wu kissed Qiao Tan Yuan’s lips roughly. He wanted to reassure her, he wouldn’t let her escape. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he deepened the kiss. His hands on her waist slid under her shirt.
The moment Gu Jiao Wu began kneading Qiao Tan Yuan’s breasts, she remembered they were in the hospital. She held his arms, turned her head around and checked if anyone was outside the door.
‘We’re in the hospital,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
‘I want you,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. He wasn’t satisfied to only kiss Qiao Tan Yuan in bed. ‘We can lock the door.’
‘What about your wound?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked.
Gu Jiao Wu let go of Qiao Tan Yuan, and went to lock the door.
‘Gu Jiao Wu, are you crazy?’ Qiao Tan Yuan asked. ‘You haven’t healed completely.’
‘I told you I have a chest wound and below my chest everything is healthy,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
Gu Jiao Wu sat back on the bed, and kissed Qiao Tan Yuan’s lips. The door was locked, there was nothing left to stop them being intimate with each other.
‘Gu Jiao Wu, let go,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Qiao Tan Yuan didn’t want to risk Gu Jiao Wu’s health.
‘Let me hold you a little longer,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
‘Jiao Wu, your wound,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
‘Don’t worry about my wound,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘If you take good care of me like this, my wound will heal faster.’
‘You… I’m not going to care about you anymore,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
‘You can’t stop caring about me,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘Let’s continue.’
Gu Jiao Wu fingered Qiao Tan Yuan until she wet his fingers.

Gu Jiao Wu took off Qiao Tan Yuan’s clothes, and took off his hospital gown. He laid on the bed, she straddled his thighs and he fondled her body while she rode him.
‘Gu Jiao Wu… I hate you…’ Qiao Tan Yuan said in between her moans.
At night Qiao Tan Yuan got out of bed, and showered to wash off the sweat on her body.
When Gu Jiao Wu saw Qiao Tan Yuan come out of the bathroom, he patted the bed.
‘You should sleep,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
‘I’ll sleep better if you’re lying next to me,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
‘Tonight, I’m sleeping on the sofa,’ Qiao Tan Yuan said.
Since Gu Jiao Wu recovered, Qiao Tan Yuan knew he wouldn’t sleep if she was in bed with him.
‘I promise I won’t touch you,’ Gu Jiao Wu said. ‘Do you think I’m a wild buck? Tonight I’ll spare you.’
Qiao Tan Yuan wanted to change out of the towel.
‘Come here and sleep,’ Gu Jiao Wu said.
Qiao Tan Yuan carefully laid next to Gu Jiao Wu on the bed.
