The Things That One Wants To Protect

Eris, Alene and I arrived at the door where the Demon’s Land is right after the bell begin tolling.
“This is, Sieg-sama. You’ve arrived quickly”
Saying that and giving his greetings is, the man who holds the authority after me in this Feudal Lord’s army, Gilbert who’s normally this army’s commander. Alias, Gil. It’s because this fellow is here that I’m able to do the feudal lord’s work in my room. Well, putting my pride in Gil aside.
“How’s the situation?”
“About that, it’s weird”
“Weird? What do you mean?”
“It’s true that the monsters have come out of the Demon’s Land but, they are somewhat docile in comparison to that year. Usually, they would scramble and run towards us but, this time, the monsters are forming files and proceeding”
Indeed, now that he’s mentioned it, it’s the first time they are so docile. Though this is my third large march, the low intelligence goblins and likes would charge forward without listening to orders and wouldn’t pay any mind to arrows raining down on them or getting hit by magic but, whichever goblins this time as well, the monsters this time as well are docile. Lightning Tempest!”
using her forte, lightning magic and cleaned up the monsters.
While thousands of lightning are pouring down onto the ground, I caught sight of the Orc King and ran towards it. Alene’s unit is supporting from the back, and there’s also Eris’ lightning magic as support. It seems like this time around it’ll be settled rather quickly.
And then I who came in front of the Orc King, wield my spear.
“Now then, shall I kill you. You pig!”
I provoked it by saying that but, what returned was a fearless smile. Its appearance is that of a face that looks like a pig so the expression can’t really be understood but, just the Orc King’s expression right now, I fully understood it. That is the smile of immersing in joy from having something entrapped. To that smile, I feel something of a somewhat unspeakable uneasiness. It feels like something I can’t let happen, something I’ll definitely regret.
While I was bothered and thinking about what it might be, a messenger ran towards me from the back.
“Sieg-sama! It’s terrible!”
“What!? I’m about to fight the Orc King now! You as well, step back!”
“Sieg-sama! It’s not the time for that! Near a hundred orcs have appeared in the territory! And amongst the orcs, it’s confirmed that there is an Orc General who’s leading them!”
I was unable to come up with a conclusion immediately. What is this about? Enemies appearing within the walls? I immediately try asking the messenger for the details but, the messenger has already been obliterated by the Orc King……
“Is that so, the uneasy feeling just now is this huh. To think that this near ten thousand monsters and you included are just a distraction……”
Shit! I was thoroughly deceived. I want to return immediately but, I have to do something about the Orc King in front of me!
“Get out of the way! You pig!”
“BUUooOOU!”
And just like this, the battle between me and the Orc King began.

We who have sent Sieg and guys off started talking about what to do from now on.
“Aneue. It’ll be dangerous as it is now so let’s return to the mansion for once and retrieve our weapons. Since we are only carrying wooden swords right now”

Saying that, for the sake of the things I want to protect, I head towards my first battlefield.
