Qin Xiao continued without taking a breath. “
“No, no, no…...I don’t mean that! I’ll definitely help you.” Qianxi’s brain functioned very slowly and she couldn’t catch up with Qin Xiao rapid fire speech. She managed to digest what had been said. “But I’m not too sure that I can arrange for you to meet him.” Anyhow she had already indicated that she had left Yinyuan. “How about this…...can you come to my hotel tomorrow?”
“Hotel?”
“It’s a long story!” Qianxi scratched her hair, unsure of how to explain this bizarre connection. “Anyway you come here around noon tomorrow, then you should be able to catch him. But this method…...isn’t it a bit forceful?”
“No, no!” Qin Xiao quickly wrote down the hotel address and happily hung up the phone.
It was difficult for Qianxi to keep track of the entire string of events that had just occurred.
She watched the dark windows in a daze after she hung up the phone. So many things could happen in just one night, it …. was quite unreal.
The price she paid for going to sleep late was that she didn’t wake up until ten o’clock in the morning.
She screamed and quickly packed her stuff, before going downstairs to check out. The front desk spoke in a cold voice. “Wait a minute. Our staff will check the room.”
“En.” Qianxi nodded, then continued her conversation with Xu Jimo on WeChat to pass the time.
It was close to their appointment, so he said, “I will be right there.”
Qianxi asked the front desk while she was replying the message. “Can I check out now?”
The front desk took off her the earphones. “Ok. It shows that you used a box of condoms in the room and you need to pay for it.”
“Uhm…...wait. What did you say?!” Qianxi abruptly raised her head and put down the cell. “Are you sure there isn’t some mistake? I checked in alone. Why would I have any need of that?”
“No mistake. You must pay even if you opened it accidentally, miss.”
“You must be mistaken.” Qianxi was speechless all of a sudden. “Ask them to double check again. Is it my room?”
The front desk flattened her mouth impatiently and put the earphones back one. “Zhang jie, take a look at 1103 again to see if a box of condoms was used.” She reconfirmed very quickly. “You sure it’s 1103? Oh, ok.”
Qianxi felt desperate. She checked her handbag, but the money inside was far from enough to pay for it. Besides, she didn’t use such a thing, why should she pay for it!
The front desk coldly looked at Qianxi as if she was a deadbeat customer refusing to pay. “Miss, may I ask whether you want to pay with credit or cash?”
Neither her credit card nor cash were enough, alright!
Qianxi was at the verge of breaking down. “Is this the way you serve your customer? Using an opened package to frame your customer to pay more? I already told you that I checked in alone. I’m not a three years old little girl. What would I do with the condoms? Blowing them up like a balloon?”
The front desk had a lot experience with similar situations, she immediately called the staff who had checked the room over. It became a big argument among three people. The customers waiting in line to check out became impatient. They sneered at Qianxi with contempt and urged them, “Are you done? We need to catch the flight.”
On the other side, Xu Jimo walked into the lobby but he didn’t see her after he looking about. Finally, he saw Qianxi, surrounded by people at the counter.
Three people were engaged in a screaming match. He finally squeezed in and held Qianxi’s wrist. “What is happening?”
Qianxi’s eyes were still red, either from crying last night or from being too angry. She was thin-skinned and had difficulty explaining things clearly. The staff called “Zhang jie”, on the other hand, spoke with compelling arguments and confidence, “Young lady, you stayed in the hotel and opened the condom box, but wouldn’t admit it and are accusing that I am setting you up. I just work here, why do I have to gain from setting you up like that? Everything in the room has been checked before customers move in. The box wasn’t opened. She attempted to speak again, but Xu Jimo paid the bill instantly and took Qianxi out.

And also…...that talkative front desk spoke so straightforwardly about their relationship and baselessly concluded what had happened. Qianxi felt she had never been a scapegoat bearing such great fault, on top of it all she was unable to get rid of it either.
She opened her mouth, wanting to argue, but she couldn’t release her anger once she saw Xu Jimo’s calm face, acting like nothing had happened…...she couldn’t be mad at him. He helped her with good intentions and Qin Xiao was going to ask for his help later too.
She couldn’t provoke him, but she couldn’t get over her anger either.
