“Don’t you believe that I’ll do it?” Qi Feng asked in a deep voice when he saw Qi Lei’s calm expression.
The curve of Qi Lei’s mouth disappeared a little and he responded calmly, “If I said I didn’t believe you, would it change your mind?”
“No, I don’t change my mind easily,” Qi Feng answered him simply.
“So, don’t you think it’s redundant for you to ask such a question?” Qi Lei replied candidly, “Since I chose to come over today, I obviously don’t care about my life. Anyway, I’ve lived enough and I have nothing to miss. You’re not like me, Qi Feng. You have a wife and a daughter that you love, so do you think you can be as devil-may-care as me? There are police officers outside who are waiting to arrest you and bring you to justice. It’s all over now! You’ve lost, and you’re destined not to be as free as I am.”
“Haha!” Qi Feng suddenly burst out laughing. “You despise me, don’t you? I know you hate me very much. You hate me for killing your mother and almost killing you. You have every reason to hate me. Even I feel that you should hate me.
“I often think that if we weren’t brothers, we might actually be very good friends just like Lingtian. Do you know why Lingtian and I are good friends? He threw it on the table at the side and reached out to take the brewed chrysanthemum tea. He slowly unscrewed the bottle cap while looking at Qi Lei. His eyes were calm as the ocean in the middle of the night with boundless depth and darkness. “Yes, I’m a sinner. It’s actually great now that we’ve already talked things out. Qi Lei’s eyes were fixated on the splash in the cup before he suddenly understood something. His eyes widened and Qi Feng suddenly stretched out his hand to support himself on the corner of the table. In a somber tone, he said, “Maybe I did you wrong too…”

There was not a trace of strength left in him as he collapsed and blood oozed out from the corner of his mouth.
A sense of fear and panic could be seen in Qi Lei’s eyes. He immediately stepped forward to support his brother’s body from falling, but he only managed to grab the shirt on his chest. Qi Feng’s cold lips trembled and he breathed his last breath before he could say what he wanted to say. However, before his last gasp of air, he could see the sparkle in the red eyes of the person that was holding him…
Qi Feng gradually breathed his last in Qi Lei’s arms and died peacefully. He let go and dropped his hand that was holding on to Qi Lei’s clothes…
“Ahhhhh!”
Qi Lei wailed and tears streamed down his face. He suddenly burst into tears as he held Qi Feng tightly. His cries were filled with bitterness and grief. He did not know why he felt sad.
The policemen outside finally rushed in when they heard his wail!
They saw Qi Lei holding Qi Feng’s body and crying. His agony and sorrow made everybody else feel his pain. Chief Wang was in a daze after seeing him like that, and it took him a while before he walked over. With white gloves on his big hands, he picked up the gun on the table as well as the cup of flower tea…
When Yang Sheng saw Qi Lei, he wanted to comfort him, but…
He had never seen Qi Lei like this before. Even when Wang Qin passed away, Qi Lei had endured it and kept it all in. He did not expect him to break down and let all his pain out like he had done today.
The police began to search and collect evidence in the office. Qi Lei cried for a long time, and finally, he raised his hand to wipe the tears off his face. Then, he hugged Qi Feng in a daze before walking towards the door…
“Chief!” The new policeman frowned helplessly when he saw Qi Lei’s action.
“It’s okay. Just let him be.” Chief Wang looked at Qi Lei’s back with a conflicted expression on his face. He took a deep breath and said, “Well, all of you should search carefully. Don’t miss anything. Be vigilant!”

The sound of the police sirens seemed to have quietened down and the heavily armed special police force retreated. After a while, the ground floor of the Qi Kai Group seemed to be quiet again, leaving only a few police officers that were guarding the door.
However, the setting sun that had been on the horizon for a while had also started to darken. The entire sky had fallen silent.
Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye stopped the car by the plaza next to them and swiftly got out. They were about to rush to the Qi Kai office, but just before they got to the staircase, they saw Qi Lei walking out while holding the lifeless Qi Feng in his arms…
“Qi Lei!” Xi Xiaye’s eyes widened.
She was about to reach out to him but the man beside her held her back and said, “Don’t go. He’s already dead.”
His deep voice brought calmness to Xi Xiaye.
Xi Xiaye was taken aback and she could not help but stare blankly at Qi Lei, who was slowly walking down the stairs with red eyes and a pale face.
