Pang Wei clenched his fists tightly, but he could not do a thing.

"Chief?" Wu Hai asked.

Chief Zhang said, "Whatever. It's not my say whether your daughter can come. I can give you a chance to make one phone call."

"There's no need. I want you to do it! This matter has to be done! There is no room for negotiations! If I do not see my daughter before noon, I will end everything," said Han Xiaoguo.

Chief Zhang looked at Fangzheng. Fangzheng held his hands together and said, "Amitabha, Patron, Patron Han is truly sincere in his repentance. Why don't you satisfy this wish of his?"

Chief Zhang nodded and said, "Since Master has already spoken, I will try my best. However, you have to assure me that you are not to do anything rash during this period of time!"

"Don't worry. I will absolutely not do anything but wait here," Han Xiaoguo said. He felt bitter and humored inwardly. Do anything rash? With the monk here, how can I do anything rash?

Chief Zhang took out a walkie-talkie and walked into the distance.

Not long later, Chief Zhang came back and said with a sigh, "Han Xiaoguo, why are you doing this? Your daughter is now seriously ill and not suited for such a long journey."

When Han Xiaoguo heard that, he fell silent. According to the agreement, he could not reveal that he wanted his daughter to be treated in the temple. Therefore, he only faced it with silence.

Chief Zhang said, "The doctors have said that there's not much time left for your daughter. Perhaps this will be the final time the two of you will be meeting. Make the best out of it."

With that said, Chief Zhang instructed Wu Hai and company to watch Han Xiaoguo, while he went down the mountain to wait for the arrival of Han Xiaoguo's daughter, Han Xiaomi.

When Fangzheng saw this, he returned to the temple hall and continued cleaning it. As for the matters outside, they were no longer within his power.

One second after another passed.

Three hours later, Chief Zhang returned with another group of armed policemen. One of the armed policemen was piggybacking a young girl behind Chief Zhang. The girl was fair like carved, white jade, making her resemble a porcelain doll. She had large eyes, long eyelashes, and a small mouth. She wore a hat and from the sides, one could tell that the little girl's hair had been shaved off. The girl saw Fangzheng look at her as she took off her hat with a smile. She pointed at her bald head and blinked her eyes at Fangzheng.

Fangzheng was immediately amused by the little girl's action. This was truly an adorable young fellow.

Standing beside the girl was a frail-looking woman. Her eyes were puffy and clearly, she had just wept.

The woman was immediately incensed when she saw Han Xiaoguo holding a knife to his neck. Ignoring the advice from others, she rushed forward and gave Han Xiaoguo a slap! Then, she yelled at the top of her lungs, "You bastard! How dare you leave just like that!? Why must we meet you just because you want to meet us!? How dare you speak of divorce so easily!? Who do you think you are? Who do you think we are? You bastard, I obliged you in everything in the past, but this time, no more!"

With that said, the woman raised a stack of papers and tore it right in front of Han Xiaoguo!

Fangzheng caught a glance of it and was surprised to notice that it was the divorce agreement!

Han Xiaoguo was dumbfounded as well. Perhaps because of being struck or perhaps because of her actions. But a moment later, Han Xiaoguo embraced the woman, disregarding her scratches, curses, and flinching. He refused to let her go. The woman managed to calm down after a long while.

Han Xiaoguo said in a deep and hoarse voice, "Xiaoshuang, I let you down, but I love you! I cannot implicate you. Hence it's best we divorce."

"You bastard! Are you discriminating me now? What did you say back when you were wooing me? I told you that I'll depend on you for life," the woman said with a soft but firm voice.

When Han Xiaoguo heard that, he hugged the woman tightly and whispered, "Okay. If I am still alive in the future, I will definitely look for you."

The woman acknowledged tersely before cursing again, "Also, are you crazy? Why did you get our daughter to come see you at this point in time? Our daughter cannot handle any suffering with her illness!"

Han Xiaoguo said with a bitter smile, "I know. I was out of options and only wanted to see her. Besides, it's useless to stay in the hospital, right? Who knows, letting her come up the mountain to see the blue sky and white clouds might make her better, allowing her illness to turn for the better."

"You..." The woman was rather helpless. She turned around and carried her daughter over. She said, "Xiaomi, your daddy wants to see you."

Xiaomi immediately stretched out her arms and said, "Daddy, carry me!"

Han Xiaoguo smiled and carried Han Xiaomi. Then, he said to Chief Zhang, "Chief, I would like to spend ten minutes with my daughter alone. The temple is still not that small, so it's not like I can run away."

Chief Zhang frowned.

Han Xiaomi said, "Uncle Policeman, let me play with Daddy for a while. I might not be able to spend time with Daddy in the future."

Chief Zhang gaped and could not steel his heart to reject her. Waving his hand, he led the policemen away. However, he had sentries posted every few yards outside, blocking the entire path down the mountain.

When the policemen left, Han Xiaoguo looked at Fangzheng and said, "Master, this is my daughter, Han Xiaomi. Xiaomi, this is Master Fangzheng. He's very powerful."

Lu Shuangshuang had heard from Chief Zhang that Fangzheng had persuaded Han Xiaoguo to surrender. Her feelings for him were somewhat complex. She felt gratitude towards him yet was a little displeased at the same time. She felt gratitude as he had made Han Xiaoguo surrender, yet she was also displeased for the same reason.

However, Han Xiaomi smiled at Fangzheng obediently and said, "Hello, Master Baldy. Are you powerful because you are bald?"

Fangzheng was surprised before he said with a smile, "Amitabha. That's right. I'm powerful because I'm bald."

"Giggle, I'm bald too, but I'm not powerful at all. I always make Daddy and Mommy cry," said Han Xiaomi as she tugged at her sleeves and pouted. She looked a little embarrassed.

Fangzheng looked at the adorable girl and grew fond of the sensible and optimistic fellow. From their conversation, it was clear that the little fellow knew of her sickness. However, she did not feel sad and instead showed a happy side of hers. Her every action was painstakingly meant to amuse the people around her.

However, she did not know that the happier she smiled, the more she hurt the people who loved her.

Fangzheng went forward and said, "Patron Han, can This Penniless Monk carry her?"

"Master-" Lu Shuangshuang wanted to stop him, but Han Xiaoguo immediately agreed. Although he could not bear it, Han Xiaoguo said, "Xiaomi, have some fun with Master. Daddy wants to tell Mommy a secret, alright?"

"Okay." Han Xiaomi stretched her arms out, allowing Fangzheng to carry her. Then, he walked to a corner and pointed at the bodhi tree. He said, "Xiaomi, this is a bodhi tree. It's a southern tree, yet it sprouts leaves in the north. Isn't it very interesting?"

However, Han Xiaomi did not understand the problem with northern and southern trees. She cocked her head and said, "I don't know?"

Fangzheng immediately turned embarrassed as he said, "Xiaomi, look."

With that said, Fangzheng picked up a piece of rock and squeezed it, shattering it with a crack!

Han Xiaomi covered her mouth and exclaimed in astonishment, "Wow! So powerful!"

Fangzheng chuckled and said, "Xiaomi, do you want to become as powerful as I am?" In front of Xiaomi, Fangzheng did not use the phrase 'This Penniless Monk', afraid that she would not understand what he meant.
