Chapter 8 – Piltover
“Yes!” Lin Ling nodded heavily. It was absolutely very valuable. If he didn’t encounter Annie, they would be the last hope of Lin Ling.
Piltover, a peaceful and technological city where science and magic were perfectly integrated.
After a long journey of more than ten days, Lin Ling finally left the Twisted Treeline with the help of Annie’s powerful strength. When he saw the small village surrounding Piltover, he realized they finally left the jungle and returned to human civilization!
No more fear of getting lost in the forest nor being afraid of magical beast jumping at him at any moment to kill him.
“Big brother, Annie knows a very nice hotel in the front part of the main city of Piltover that has very delicious food! Let’s go!” After paying an entry tax of 1 silver coin, Lin Ling entered the city of Piltover with Annie. Comparing the view of the main city with those villages surrounding it, Lin Ling couldn’t help but to exclaim, there’s no comparison! The surrounding villages are complete shit in front of the main city!
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell that the money of this world is like the money of any typical novel. The biggest unit is the gold coin, followed by the silver coin, and lastly the copper coin. A gold coin equals to a hundred silver coins, and one hundred silver coins equals to ten thousand copper coins. Ordinary people usually have a few dozen copper coins. A copper coin is probably equal to a dollar on earth. Because Piltover is a very special city, you need the pay a fee of a silver coin before entering, in contrast to other cities in Valoran, where you don’t need to pay any entrance fee.
Machinery can be seen everywhere in the streets of Piltover, with steam constantly being ejected from all sorts of mechanical bodies. Even some carriages on the road use mechanical horses instead of live horses.
Lin Ling stood staring blankly for a moment. He has never seen anything like this before. This scene, worthy of a sci-fi movie left him a long time without words.
On earth, science and magic had a relation similar to that of oil and water, never to mix. Earth scientists would never acknowledge something esoteric like magic as real. But in Runeterra, you can actually admire a perfectly combination of science and magic here in Piltover!
“Omg! These are all robots!”
“Yeah, why do you look so surprised? Didn’t you know the most developed industry in Piltover is the Machine industry?”
“…” How could Lin Ling know? Although he played “League of Legends”, he was not the kind of person who would understand these background stories. But if we talk about that police woman, then Lin Ling definitely knew her.
Caitlyn, the tall and beautiful sniper. The word MISS wasn’t in her dictionary, and she also was a very sexy police officer.
As for the other champions living in the city, Lin Ling’s memory wasn’t very clear. In short, this city is actually the home of several famous champions. It is a city with a power that can be compared to that of a country.
“Then these robots have their own consciousness?” Curious Lin Ling once again asked a very stupid question.

Although Piltover is a very advanced city and there are a lot of robots, these robots are just low-level robots which can only obey simple commands from their masters, and there are even robots that need to be manually manipulated! It is unfortunate that her sheltered, wide-eyed naiveté led her to take unnecessary and dangerous chances which ultimately led to her tragic demise

He could not stand the void his daughter left in his life, so he decided to build a replacement – one that would complete Orianna’s dream of joining the League. What was created is the clockwork killing machine that corin named after her daughter. Since then, the lady of clockwork was born.
She is the only miracle that combines magic and technology to have her own consciousness. Besides her, no other robot in Piltover has consciousness. Although in addition to Orianna, I also remember a champion of Zaun called Blitzcrank who seems to also be a mechanical lifeform…”
“Oh!” Hearing all of this made Lin Ling suck in a mouthful of cold air. This information was tantamount to a bomb in the ears of Lin Ling. He hadn’t felt anything in particular when playing with Orianna or Blitzcrank in the game, but now that he listened to Annie’s story, he came to realize they have their own consciousness! In other words, they have their own soul!”
As an outsider, Lin Ling had a new understanding of this world. “This world really is amazing…” He whispered.

“Nothing!”
His identity as a transmigrator cannot be discovered by anyone, absolutely. Not even Annie who is the closest person to him right now. After all, she has more experience living in this world, and therefore knows what it means to be a world traveler.
There are many transmigrators in this world, and most of them are very powerful!
For example, Wukong! Although the monkey king of this world is only a hair of the body of Sun Wukong, it doesn’t affect his position in this world, a champion! They are powerful beings in the eyes of countless people, and there are many champions who crossed over from other worlds!
Closing his eyes, Lin Ling secretly thought to himself, “Perhaps my identity as a transmigrator can be concealed if I go and become a summoner in this world.”
